💡 Remaining is used to describe what is left, usually before a noun: the remaining money, the remaining time, the remaining food.
💡Remainder is a noun and can refer to what is left of something: the remainder of the money or simply the remainder.
Both are related to the idea of “what is left” — but they are not interchangeable. 👀
👨 Dad: I gave you $1,000. What did you do with it?
👦 Son: I bought so many things with the money you gave me. I spent $200 on clothes, $300 on a new phone, and $150 on other things.
👨 Dad: Oh, I see... And tell me, __?
A. How much is remaining?
B. How much is the remainder?
C. None of them is correct. 🤔
