<!-- SC_OFF -->Shortcut: https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/d3f42cab3c704da39c7ca8ad158c1979 I had a drive through the mountains with no signal coming up, and I wanted my favorite station (Freeform Radio on iHeartRadio) along for the ride. It turns out iHeartRadio publishes everything a station plays, so I built a playlist from the last 250 songs, in the station's play order. What the shortcut does: Get Clipboard: expects a list of songs, one per line, "Artist Title" Split Text by new lines Repeat with Each Search iTunes Store for the Repeat Item Add to Playlist Show Notification with the Repeat Index and song, so you can watch it count up (video) Then download the playlist and you're set offline. Where the song list comes from: a short Python script I built with AI that pulls the station's recent plays. If you want to try it with your station, this is the prompt I started with: > I'd like your help building playlists for [Apple Music or Spotify] based on my preferences. I'm not finding any tools online that I like, and I don't like the AI built into the music apps. There are radio stations I like, and I'd like you to try to pull their playlists. The first one I'd like to target is [YOUR STATION NAME HERE], and the goal is to create a playlist I can import, listen to and download while I'm traveling without internet access. Gotcha: I couldn't find a clean way to clear the existing playlist in the Shortcut itself, so I delete and re-add the playlist before each run. Future improvement: Include the download script directly in the Shortcut as a step Full write-up: workings.blog/radio-playlist (http://workings.blog/radio-playlist) <!-- SC_ON --> submitted by /u/being_brighter (https://www.reddit.com/user/being_brighter)

Turning off “wake on wrist raise” at night and turning it back on in the morning
https://www.reddit.com/r/shortcuts/comments/1xbap4m/turning_off_wake_on_wrist_raise_at_night_and/

<!-- SC_OFF -->Forgive my ignorance but I have not had my apple products for very long. I like to wear my Apple Watch at night and I was wondering if there was a way to make a shortcut that at a certain time my watch turns off the display setting “wake on wrist raise”. Every night I manually turn off that setting and every morning I manually turn it on but sometimes I forget. It’s a pain to wake up in the middle of the night to the bright light. Really this is just out of pure annoyance but if someone is able to help that would be great! <!-- SC_ON --> submitted by /u/nicholaaay (https://www.reddit.com/user/nicholaaay)

Need help with “flick/shake” detection
https://www.reddit.com/r/shortcuts/comments/1xbaua1/need_help_with_flickshake_detection/

<!-- SC_OFF -->I’m current “upgrading” my action button to allow for multiple orientation and app dependent actions and one I was trying to add was a way to quickly skip or play previous song and I was wondering if anyone has made a way to detect maybe via the gyro or movement data that you can get from third party shortcut apps to determine wether u shook to the left or to the right to do different actions as stated And help would be appreciated thank you! <!-- SC_ON --> submitted by /u/Ok-Connection9755 (https://www.reddit.com/user/Ok-Connection9755)

Stitch Screenshot (Alternative option)
https://www.reddit.com/r/shortcuts/comments/1xbbf13/stitch_screenshot_alternative_option/

<!-- SC_OFF -->Stitch Screenshot v1.8g (Alternative solution to the recently shared "GREAT" idea for useful shortcut. Includes fixes for the issues I was having as well as expanded capabilities). Curious if there are issues anyone has. Combine overlapping screenshots into one continuous image—ideal for conversations, articles, instructions, and long web pages. Get the Shortcut How to use Add the Shortcut to Apple Shortcuts. In Photos, select two or more overlapping screenshots, tap Share, and choose Stitch Screenshot. Alternatively, run the Shortcut directly and select your images. Wait for the stitched preview. Tap Share / Save image, then choose Save Image or share to another app. If sharing is unavailable, touch and hold the image for saving options. If multiple groups appear, save each result separately. Tap Done when finished. Images are not saved automatically. Features Joins overlapping screenshots vertically. Handles forward and reverse selection order. Finds separate matching groups when the selection contains multiple sequences. Keeps screenshots separate when a reliable join cannot be verified. Accounts for stationary interface controls, such as message-entry bars, during overlap verification. Detects incoming image formats and exports stitched results as PNG. Includes processing times, format information, and join diagnostics in Details. Supports light and dark appearance. Processes images locally in the Shortcut’s web view, without an image-upload service. Tips and limitations Use screenshots with the same orientation, zoom level, and text size. Leave a generous overlap between consecutive captures. This Shortcut is designed for scrolling screenshots, rather than photographic panoramas. Notifications captured in the source images may remain in the output. Tested devices and formats Primarily tested on iPhone 18 Pro Max, with additional testing on iPhone 17. Both devices were running iOS 27.0.1. Testing covered: Light- and dark-mode screenshots. Forward and reverse selections. Multiple matching groups. Mixed JPEG/PNG inputs. Sets of up to 19 screenshots. Launching through the Photos share sheet and directly from Shortcuts. HEIF screenshots captured with HDR enabled also worked through the tested Photos/Shortcuts workflow. These reached the page as PNG representations. HDR preservation in the exported PNG has not been verified. Other devices and iOS versions have not yet been verified. Let me know what works and what doesn't. There should be diagnostics at the end of combined screenshots. <!-- SC_ON --> submitted by /u/jmm74 (https://www.reddit.com/user/jmm74)

I built a Reminders system that learns how often I actually do things — intervals are measured, not set
https://www.reddit.com/r/shortcuts/comments/1xbcz2j/i_built_a_reminders_system_that_learns_how_often/

<!-- SC_OFF -->Every task app I've used makes me declare "repeat every 7 days," and then that number is wrong forever, because my life doesn't run on fixed cadences. So I built the opposite on top of stock Apple Reminders: The interval is learned, not set. When I complete a recurring item, the next one is scheduled from the completion date plus an interval the system re-estimates from my recent completion history (median of recent gaps, so one bad week doesn't permanently distort it). The current estimate lives in the title: Tp~13, Walk Mocha~2, Pantoprazole~46. I never type the ~N — the system does. One-offs promote themselves. Complete the same thing 3+ times on a regular rhythm and it graduates into a recurring item on its own. No repeat form, ever. My To Do list is a rolling 7-day window. Everything sleeps in category lists (Shopping, Chores, Family, Personal, Work, Events, Bills). When something's due within a week it moves into To Do under a parent reminder for its category; push it past a week and it moves back out. To Do never grows past a week, however much is tracked behind it. It all runs off Reminders opening and closing — two personal automations: on open, a due-date-change counter (it literally counts how many times I've pushed each item) and the 7-day mover; on close, a Scriptable chain that detects rhythms, backfills category tags on completed items, then relearns intervals and creates the next iterations. Everything is check-before-create, so if iOS kills a run, the next open/close heals it — no duplicates in months of daily use. I searched before posting: Todoist's every!, Things' after-completion, 2Do, RTM all anchor to completion, but the interval is still a number you pick once. I couldn't find anything that relearns it, or promotes one-offs by evidence. If it exists, I'd genuinely like to see it. Everything's open source (MIT) — scripts, shortcuts, and a full setup guide. It's customizable: categories, window length, and promotion strictness are all documented knobs. Would it be possible to simply say remind me about this later and have it create a reminder what app you're in, a description to what you're doing and possibly a link to get right back to it?

iPhone Duo reviews are out today, and while I was hoping that this year I’d get to review this hybrid device under embargo, it hasn’t happened (I hope it will, someday!). I’ve spent the past few hours reading, annotating, and watching as many Duo reviews as I could, and I’ve compiled the most interesting bits […]

Building for iPhone Duo, in App Developers’ Own Words
https://www.macstories.net/stories/building-for-iphone-duo-in-app-developers-own-words/

I spent yesterday in New York City interviewing developers about their iPhone Duo apps and the experience of building for such a new and different device. The depth and breadth of developers Apple assembled was excellent. I spoke to indie developers like Vidit Bhargava about Deck-Man and the team behind Notewise. I also interviewed developers […]
