Another point to reinforce my answer:

Is it your place to give the medical student study advise? Even if it was, is it appropriate?

The studentโ€™s mother is so sick she was hospitalized for the night and may still be hospitalized, is it appropriate, considerate or even ethical to tell the student he should have studied earlier in this particular situation?

Think about it before you sleep tonight, you might find the question in your exam (hopefully) ๐Ÿ˜‰.
