Figure AI's humanoid robot walks 1.2 million steps
The Figure 03 humanoid robot covered 348 miles during nine consecutive days on a treadmill, reaching 1.2 million steps on October 19. Figure AI chief executive Brett Adcock shared the milestone on X after running the extended test to expose potential hardware failures.
The experiment began as a side project to push the machine beyond short demonstrations. Earlier in May 2026, the company livestreamed robots sorting packages for about 200 hours, though those units rotated in shifts and recharged regularly.
The new platform features updated cameras with twice the frame rate and hands equipped with tactile sensors that detect forces down to three grams. Wireless inductive charging allows the system to recharge by stepping onto a compatible stand delivering two kilowatts. 🤖
