Unwanted Software on LG UltraGear Monitors 🛑
In a new issue reported by LG UltraGear OLED owners running Windows 11, the monitors are installing unwanted software without permission. This includes the LG Monitor App Installer and McAfee antivirus.
This software does not just sit there quietly. It runs every time you start your computer and forces unwanted adverts onto your screen. Users across community forums have expressed significant frustration, as this behavior effectively turns a premium piece of hardware into an ad-delivery platform. Many buyers purchased these displays for gaming, not to deal with third-party security software that impacts system performance.
Most other manufacturers provide software as an optional download on their website, leaving the choice to install entirely with the owner. LG is essentially forcing a promotional partnership onto their customers' systems without any opt-in process.
You buy a screen for clear images, not for unwanted software running in the background. 💻

LG and Nvidia team up in Santa Clara for a 2027 humanoid robot
On August 13, leaders from LG and Nvidia including Kwang Mo Koo and Jensen Huang met to sign a deal for a bipedal humanoid robot launching in 2027. 🚀
The machine will use advanced artificial intelligence to navigate workspaces and handle physical tasks. Think of it as giving a machine a digital brain that helps it figure out what to do next, much like how you adapt when walking into a messy room.
➖ Nvidia provides the Jetson Thor computer chip for heavy onboard processing.
➖ The system runs on the Isaac GR00T foundation model to control movement and reasoning.
➖ LG manufacturing divisions will build the physical hardware, including sensors, actuators, and batteries.
Before this walking robot arrives, LG is already putting simpler wheel-based machines to work inside its Tennessee washing machine factory this year.
Building machines that can safely walk and work alongside people changes how everyday manufacturing operates.
