In one of the most horrific assaults targeting civilians, the village of Um al-Zeitoun came under a bloody attack, leaving behind widespread destruction and heavy human and material losses.

🛑 Testimony from one of the villagers:

> “The treacherous assault was more terrifying than anything Hitler ever did!
They killed us in the name of religion—simply because we are Druze.
They burned our lands and homes, slaughtered women and children, and mutilated the bodies.
They stole everything they could get their hands on: gold, money, furniture…”



He added:

> “We did nothing to them. All we ever wanted was to live in peace.
We want to live together… You can’t erase me, and I can’t erase you!”



🕊️ He continued:

> “Thirty thousand Druze soldiers refused to take part in the war for 14 years—just so they wouldn’t have to kill their fellow Syrians!”



🔻 Another witness said:

> “My home was completely burned down.
What happened to us is a level of brutality never seen before in history.
The village is no longer fit for life… no water, no electricity, no food, no shops—nothing.”

> “I managed to hide on the rooftop of my house and saw everything.
They were breaking into homes, looting them, and then setting them on fire!”
“They burned everything—houses, shops, warehouses.
The smell of smoke was everywhere… the village is no longer livable.”
