Surveillance footage documents the entry of convoys belonging to the “General Security” and the Ministry of Defense of the de facto authority. The recording shows the extrajudicial execution of an unarmed civilian from Suwayda Governorate, carried out by members of the General Security and the Ministry of Defense near the Military Police area in Suwayda city.
The victim—whose name has not yet been identified—was subjected to brutal torture before being executed with a hail of bullets at point-blank range. This atrocity was committed on an explicitly sectarian basis, constituting a serious violation of international humanitarian law and amounting to crimes against humanity.

المكان والتاريخ: دوار الملعب البلدي – وسط مدينة السويداء، الأربعاء 16 تموز 2025، الساعة السابعة صباحًا. لم يُنتشل جثمانه حتى الساعة العاشرة من صباح الخميس 17 تموز 2025.
التفاصيل:
في جريمة موثقة ذات طابع طائفي بحت، أقدمت عناصر الأمن العام ووزارة الدفاع لسلطة الأمر الواقع على تنفيذ عملية إعدام ميداني بحق الشهيد عطالله داوود عبي، وهو مدني أعزل يعمل في مجال ميكانيك السيارات.
كان الشهيد متجهًا إلى ورشته (محله الخاص) في المنطقة الصناعية شمال الملعب البلدي، حيث خرج صباحًا لتعبئة البنزين تمهيدًا لنقل عائلته إلى منطقة أكثر أمانًا. عند مروره بدوار الملعب البلدي، استهدفته عناصر الأمن العام ووزارة الدفاع بوابل من الرصاص قنصًا باتجاه سيارته، ما أدى إلى انحرافها وارتطامها بالمنصف الترابي. بعدها تقدمت العناصر نحوه وقامت بتصفيته ميدانيًا من مسافة صفر بعدة طلقات عمدًا، في جريمة إعدام وحشي تمثل انتهاكًا فظيعًا للقانون الدولي ضمن الجرائم ضد الإنسانية.

Victim: Atallah Daoud Abi (Abu George), 63 years old — originally from al-Hasakah, resident of Suwayda.
Place and Date: Al-Malaab al-Baladi Roundabout — downtown al-Suwayda City, Wednesday, July 16, 2025, 7:00 a.m. His body was not retrieved until 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
Details:
In a documented crime of a purely sectarian nature, operatives of the General Security and the Ministry of Defense of the de-facto authority carried out the extrajudicial execution of martyr Atallah Daoud Abi, an unarmed civilian who worked as a car mechanic.
That morning, he left his home heading to his workshop (his private garage) in the industrial zone north of the municipal stadium, intending to refuel his car before moving his family to a safer area. As he passed the stadium roundabout, General Security and Ministry of Defense operatives opened heavy sniper fire at his vehicle, forcing it off course until it crashed into the median. The operatives then approached and executed him point-blank with multiple deliberate shots.
This brutal act constitutes an unlawful extrajudicial killing and a heinous violation of international law, rising to the level of crimes against humanity.
