🌅 BTC $82,250, Greed at 63, and the top 'losers' are stablecoins doing nothing

BTC sits at $82,250 (+1.25% in 24h), ETH at $2,448.89 (+3.48%). Fear & Greed jumped to 63 (Greed) from 53 yesterday. The room's getting cocky again, and that's exactly when somebody starts selling to it.

▪️ INJ +25.6% on just $40M volume, ZRO +21.4% on $24M. Thin volume spiking this hard is a book somebody can walk straight through. Don't call it a trend yet. Call it bait.
▪️ STRK +14.3% on $65M. NEAR +11.8% on $212M, ZEC +11.2% on $234M. That's where the real money is sloshing, and the data gives zero catalyst for any of these moves.
▪️ Top losers: USD1, RLUSD, USDC, U and FDUSD, all within ±0.1%. USDC alone traded $3.6B. Nobody lost a cent here, the stables just got shuffled around. Nice 'losers' tab, though.
▪️ Criminals stole an estimated $90M in crypto by tampering with hardware wallets. It's a supply chain attack, and the item says it could erode user trust.
▪️ Nasdaq-listed Tron treasury company holds about $237M in TRX and set up a $200M at-the-market offering to fund more TRX buys. Translation: they'll pump the bag with new money and call it a strategy.
▪️ CoreWeave co-founders sold $3.3B in stock since the IPO while shares declined. Investors read it as a concern about AI infrastructure financial stability. Insiders dumping into a falling chart.

Greed is rising while the strongest moves run on thin volume, so an INJ or ZRO reversal would hit fast. The Pirate Chain rollback is a governance fight. If the team pushes it through, ARRR holders get their coins back. If not, they eat the mint. Watch whether NEAR and ZEC volume holds today.

🔮 Greed at 63 while the biggest 'losers' are stablecoins. Who is actually getting sold to today?

🐋 XRP whales are shoveling coins onto Binance: 7-month high

Big XRP holders moved 1.669 billion tokens to Binance over the last 30 days. Per CryptoQuant (analysis by Arab Chain), that's the highest since early spring. Price is sitting around $1.33 after a lousy October, and nobody has officially labeled the whales as sellers. Yet.

▪️ The metric tracks rolling 30-day transfers from large holders to Binance. The September peak was around 1.65 billion, then a pullback, and now it's back on top.
▪️ Top five by tracked balances: Upbit ~6.44 billion XRP, Coinbase 5.84 billion, Binance 2.76 billion, Bithumb 1.85 billion, Uphold 1.75 billion.
▪️ Sample: 699 public wallets across 24 exchanges, XRP Insights snapshot as of October 15. Unknown wallets aren't in it, so these numbers are an estimate, not an inventory.
▪️ The catch: most XRP sitting on exchanges belongs to customers, and some of it is tokenized reserves and operating cash. A deposit is not a sell order. Relax, the whale didn't just hit market sell.
▪️ Price: XRP entered October around $1.49 and has given back 10–12% since. Last week it's down 5–8%, depending on how you count it.

📊 Value of 1.669 billion XRP at $1.33: ~$2.22 billion
📊 All public exchange wallets: 22.06 billion XRP
📊 Binance weekly increase: +54.6 million XRP

If you're long XRP around $1.33, these deposits aren't some abstract chart candy. Every transfer is a potential wall of sell orders waiting to drop on your head. The analyst himself warns that rising deposits don't necessarily mean selling, so for now it's a question, not a verdict. Watch whether these coins actually turn into orders on Binance, and whether price holds above $1.28–1.29. If it doesn't, you already know who the house was waiting for.

💬 «Increased whale inflows to centralized exchanges can increase the amount of XRP available for trading, potentially raising the risk of selling pressure» — CryptoQuant (research by Arab Chain)

🔮 A deposit isn't a sale, but nobody's calling it a gift either. Who's already short, and who's waiting for the whales to press the button first?

🔫 Crypto exchange owner snatched at gunpoint, and the kidnappers had army-issue ammo

Toronto police charged seven men, three of them Canadian Armed Forces members, over the July abduction of a crypto exchange owner. That's 82 charges, kidnapping for ransom included. Forget a wallet on the table. These guys wanted into his crypto assets and his business security systems.

▪️ July 25, 2026: the victim was approached as he got to his vehicle near Finch Avenue East and Bayview Avenue, grabbed at gunpoint, handcuffed and beaten.
▪️ Police say the goal was access to his cryptocurrency assets and business security systems. He was targeted for that access, plain and simple.
▪️ He was let go after being threatened and warned not to contact police. Police have not named him or his exchange. Shocking, nobody wants to be the guy on the news.
▪️ Arrests came in waves: Saiefeddine Adem and Raheem Bishop-Jackson on July 26, then Talarambage Fernando, James Moreau and Christian Darbandi on August 11, then Jack Miley and Suhaib Alekozai on…
▪️ Fernando and Moreau are reservists with the 7th Toronto Regiment and were pulled from military duties after their arrests. Miley is also confirmed as a Canadian Armed Forces member.
▪️ Searches of homes and cars turned up a shotgun, two 9mm guns with 3D-printed receivers, two silencers, GPS trackers, handcuffs, meth, cocaine and over 2,700 rounds.

📊 Charges laid: 82
📊 Men arrested: 7
📊 Rounds seized: 2,700+

If you're the guy with the keys, your home address is now part of your security model, and your exchange is just a map pin for whoever wants in. Police say there are no outstanding suspects and no more arrests are expected, but the investigation is still running. Canada has seen this movie before: WonderFi CEO Dean Skurka was released after a $720,000 ransom was paid in 2024, and a man who kidnapped a victim for a $1 million Bitcoin ransom got 13 years in September 2025. Cold storage doesn't help when the person holding the seed is the weakest link, and nobody on your team is budgeting for a home invasion.

💬 «The victim was allegedly targeted because of his access to cryptocurrency assets.» — Chief Superintendent Joe Matthews

🔮 Hardware wallet, 2FA, cold storage... and the one thing nobody hardens is the guy who owns the keys. Who's next?

🚀 STRK +122% on a 'maybe we become our own L1'. Now the herd is running for the exit

STRK ripped 122% from October 8 to 11, closed at $0.1232 and is up 210% in four weeks. The fuel: Starknet said it is actively considering dropping its Ethereum Layer 2 role and becoming a Layer 1. Then the crowd piled in at the top, and now the chart is bleeding.

▪️ Oct 8: Starknet says it is considering becoming its own Layer 1 instead of staying an Ethereum L2, with full quantum resistance planned by 2027 thrown in as a bonus. Nice sales pitch.
▪️ Oct 8 social sentiment was still -0.51. Then it flipped as the pump picked up speed and hit +12.44 on Oct 11, the highest reading of the whole move.
▪️ Peak day: 2,823 active addresses and 1,166 new wallets, about 13x the recent average for new wallets. Everyone arrived late to the party, as usual.
▪️ By Oct 13: active addresses down 63%, new wallets down 81%, price down almost 30%. Classic retail exit at the worst possible moment.
▪️ Meanwhile the 10 largest addresses hold around 7.09 billion STRK, their highest combined balance since April. Whales loading up while the herd runs.
▪️ Next catalyst: around 127 million STRK unlocks on October 15, nearly 1.7% of circulating supply. Someone is about to get a lot of fresh coins to dump on you.

📊 Oct 13 new wallets vs peak: -81%
📊 Top 10 addresses balance: ~7.09B STRK

You bought an L1 story, but Starknet has not confirmed it will move away from its current setup. So you bought a maybe, at a premium. Sentiment cooled, activity fell, and a 127M STRK unlock lands on October 15. Right now the only thing holding this up is big wallets quietly accumulating.

💬 «We're considering multiple options, including becoming an L1.» — Eli Ben-Sasson

🔮 Pumped on a 'maybe', and the only ones still buying are the whales. Who's holding the bag this time? You already know.

📊 BTC and ETH sliding, TIA ripping +24.5%, STRK deflating after +210%

Bitcoin at $81,612.01 (-0.88% on the day), Ethereum at $2,428.61 (-1.02%). That's a slow bleed, not a panic. The alts are doing the moving while everyone else drifts and waits to see what the ETFs do.

▪️ TIA +24.5% on $47M volume: the loudest pump of the day. Whoever chases it now becomes exit liquidity for the people who got in early.
▪️ STRK -15.3% on $28M volume after +210% in four weeks. Santiment: social sentiment peaked October 11, and network activity dropped right along with price. The hype came in and walked out.
▪️ ZEC -6.1% on $157M volume, the biggest turnover among the losers. That's where the real selling is, not a quiet drift.
▪️ INJ +27% on the day, leaving NEAR and Sei in the dust. The reason: a possible ETF approval that would widen investor access and hit supply and valuation.
▪️ Three Canadian Armed Forces reservists charged with kidnapping a crypto exchange owner. Toronto police seized guns, silencers and over 2,000 rounds of ammo.
▪️ BlackRock sold $71.78M of Bitcoin while outflows were pouring out of its spot BTC ETF. Institutions are heading for the exit, and you don't need a magnifying glass to see it.

📊 Fear & Greed: 55 (Greed), yesterday 63

Greed slid from 63 to 55, and that's no reason to relax. With Bitcoin and Ethereum quietly bleeding and institutions pulling money out through ETFs, every alt pump looks like a convenient exit for people who already decided to sell. Watch the volume on the losers and where ETF flows go, not the rocket emojis in the headlines.

🔮 Greed at 55 while BTC bleeds. Someone's selling you optimism, and someone's buying it.

🚨 Richard Heart got cuffed in Istanbul, and the shopping list is the juicy part

Turkish police detained HEX and PulseChain founder Richard Heart (legal name Richard James Schueler), his wife and three bodyguards in Istanbul on Oct 14. The haul: cash, six crypto cold wallets and enough luxury goods to open a boutique. Justice Minister Akın Gürlek confirmed it on Oct 17, and the inventory he released reads like a wardrobe audit nobody ordered.

▪️ Raid: investigators searched 15 properties across Beşiktaş, Üsküdar and Sarıyer, with Turkish police intelligence, financial crime investigators and the National Intelligence Organization all in the…
▪️ Cash and wallets: about $7.15M in US currency, 160,000 Turkish lira and six cryptocurrency cold wallets. What's on those wallets? Nobody's saying, and that silence is doing a lot of work.
▪️ Closet: 300 bags, 100 pairs of shoes, 136 pairs of glasses, 28 watches and 97 pieces of jewelry. Several luxury vehicles impounded. Guy shops like a man hedging something.
▪️ Tech and guns: 29 phones, 12 laptops, 19 graphics cards, 46 USB devices, seven firearms and 1,400 rounds of ammunition. Not exactly a minimalist setup.
▪️ Trigger: Finland requested an Interpol Red Notice over aggravated tax fraud involving hundreds of millions of euros. A Red Notice is not an arrest warrant, and no conviction exists.
▪️ US backstory: the SEC sued him in 2023 over alleged unregistered crypto offerings above $1B. A federal judge dismissed that case in Feb 2025 on jurisdictional grounds, and the SEC declined to amend…

If you hold HEX or PulseChain, this is a founder legal drama, not a fundamentals story, and the market will trade it that way: fast, dumb and on headlines. Five people are still in judicial proceedings, and there's no confirmed extradition filing yet. Watch the six cold wallets. If they hold anything material, that becomes your next headline. And Turkey has already said it's not a safe harbor, so don't bank on the scenery changing.

📊 BTC sleeps at $81.8K, TIA gets dumped 17%, and HEX's Richard Heart gets cuffed in Istanbul

BTC is parked at $81,795.21 (+0.21% in 24h) and ETH at $2,416.04 (-0.55%). The majors are dead money right now, nothing worth chasing up there. The real action is in the small caps, and the biggest moves are happening on thin volume, which is exactly where retail gets farmed.

▪️ SAND +15.5% on $23M volume: fat green candle on a small tape. Pumps like this are built to bait you in, and it'll come back down just as fast.
▪️ TIA -17.1% on $22M volume: worst hit of the day on a thin book. Don't call the dead-cat bounce a bottom. It's a sell wall waiting for your bags.
▪️ WLD -8.4% on $33M, SUI -3.6% on $33M, NEAR -2.8% on $94M: the alt complex is bleeding quietly while BTC holds its ground. Nobody's screaming, and that's the point.
▪️ HEX founder Richard Heart was detained in Istanbul together with four others.
▪️ Turkish authorities seized six crypto wallets, luxury goods, weapons and electronics. Justice Minister Akın Gürlek confirmed the detention.

📊 Fear & Greed (yesterday 55): 53 Neutral
📊 Cash seized in Istanbul: $7.15M

Nothing on the board is forcing majors to move, so expect chop and fake breakouts. Don't read SAND's green candle as a trend, and don't average into TIA while the sellers still run the show. HEX holders will be glued to the Istanbul headlines, but the sources don't tie them to any price move yet. Wait for the tape to confirm before you trade the noise.

🐋 Two 2013 bitcoin wallets woke up and moved $34M in five seconds. Sure, it's a coincidence

Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026. Two bitcoin addresses from 2013 moved about $34 million in BTC within five seconds. Both transactions landed in the same block, 971894, mined by MARA Pool. Old coins waking up together in one block is not an accident, and you already know who's on the other side of that trade.

▪️ Wallet #1, created Nov. 12, 2013, pushed 248.853 BTC out across several unidentified addresses. Nobody bothered to say where it's going.
▪️ Wallet #2, created Aug. 20, 2013, sent 167.84 BTC after more than 13 years of total silence. Thirteen years of hodling and then this. Nice timing.
▪️ Together that's 416.69 BTC, the first time these coins have moved since they were bought.
▪️ The second transfer copied the first one's transaction pattern almost exactly. Onchain heuristics say it's probably one owner splitting the stack, so don't buy the 'two strangers' story.
▪️ The oldest coins in the wider wake-up batch come from a wallet dated July 11, 2012. It sent exactly 25 BTC on Oct. 2 after about 14.2 years of dormancy.

📊 Moved in one block: 416.69 BTC
📊 Dormant BTC moved in October so far: 774.17 BTC
📊 Dormant BTC moved in August: 6,427.59 BTC
📊 BTC price on Oct. 17: ~$81,500

Nobody has sold these coins yet, so don't go short on a rumor. But the timing smells planned, and the old holders are clearly reshuffling the deck. Once the chatter dies down and the onchain watchers drop the coins from their screens, that's exactly when a dump can land with zero warning. Galaxy Digital already flagged a 100 BTC move from 2010 coins on Oct. 8. This is a pattern, not a fluke, and the people selling you the hype are counting on you forgetting that.

🔮 Are the 2013 holders moving coins to cold storage, or lining up exit liquidity for the next pump?

🚨 Bangkok takedown: Chinese launderer, $75M network, wanted at home

Thai cops walked into a luxury house in Bangkok and found a 37-year-old Chinese man living the good life. China has a warrant out for him over an international crime network and money laundering. Police say the network moved more than 500 million yuan, and he's accused of running crypto and FX exchanges for criminal groups. Nice place for someone with no right to be there.

▪️ The mechanism, per police: crypto and FX exchanges for criminal groups, spread across more than 133 accounts. Classic way to make dirty money look like it's just moving around.
▪️ Visas too. He allegedly arranged them for members of crime groups tied to other laundering cases. This wasn't just a launderer, it was a logistics desk for the whole crew.
▪️ When the heat showed up, he allegedly used forged documents to report a fake residence and swapped his car's license plates. Classic move. Didn't save him.
▪️ Found in a luxury Bangkok house. His Thai visa had expired more than three years earlier, so he was living there illegally the whole time.
▪️ Next up: Thai legal proceedings first, then authorities coordinate his return to China to face the outstanding warrant.

📊 Network transactions: 500M+ yuan
📊 Accounts used: 133+
📊 Visa expired: 3+ years ago

If you trade anywhere near Asian OTC desks or FX-to-crypto rails, this is exactly the kind of pipe that gets dragged into daylight. The same playbook, crypto plus FX through a pile of accounts, is what regulators are hunting, and the sources say this case may push stricter financial rules globally. Coinbase already froze more than $3 million tied to Southeast Asian scam networks back in June. The net is tightening, not loosening, so stop pretending your 'anonymous' rail is a secret.

🎣 Scammer gets scammed: task-scam crook lost 60+ BTC to the Ledger implant thieves

Chainalysis says one of the biggest victims of the Ledger implant thefts was a task-scam operator who lost more than 60 BTC, about $4.8M. The guy who farmed people with fake reviews got farmed himself, and the thieves cleaned out his own Ledger addresses. Karma showed up with a hardware wallet.

▪️ How the scam worked, for the newbies: victims got paid to fake sales and reviews of real products. Then a 'negative balance' showed up and they were told to top it up with their own money to get…
▪️ Sep 22: the operator parked the proceeds in three separate Ledger addresses. Cozy.
▪️ Oct 9: thieves emptied all three, one transfer each, into the same wallet. About $1.64M per address in a single move. Nobody even bothered being subtle.
▪️ Chainalysis flow chart: the largest scam wallet sent the consolidation wallet $1.36M across 106 transfers, and three wallets feeding it are labeled as reported scams.
▪️ Where the hardware came from: Ledger ties every confirmed loss to signers sold through CryptoBilis, a Southeast Asian reseller. Chainalysis didn't say where the operator bought his.
▪️ The implant: Ledger found it on Oct 10 inside a victim's signer. Its Donjon team says it reads the screen during setup, grabs the 24-word recovery phrase and sends it out over LTE via a provisioned…

📊 Task scams share of job scam reports, 2024 (FTC): ~40%
📊 Crypto lost to job scams, H1 2024 (FTC): $41M
📊 CryptoBilis drain, Specter estimate (BTC, ETH, TRX): >$86M

If you ever set up a Ledger signer bought from CryptoBilis, Ledger's ask is blunt: move your assets to a new signer with a new recovery phrase, today, not after your coffee. Ledger itself says it hasn't confirmed the number of affected users or the total value lost, so the $86M is one analyst's estimate, not a tally. The FTC flagged this exact task-scam pattern back in December 2024. The scam isn't new, the payday just went to the wrong side.

🟢 BTC $82.6K, SOXLB +9.7%, and $52M liquidated while Wall Street was asleep

BTC sits at $82,645 (+1.03% in 24h) and ETH at $2,424 (+0.36%). The majors are green and boring, so the fun is in the small stuff and in the leverage that got wiped out while US stock markets were shut.

▪️ Movers: SOXLB +9.7% on $34M volume, SNDKB +5.3% on $39M, PEPE +4.1% on $23M, PUMP +3.5% on $31M, SUI +2.3% on $37M. Volume pumps look great right up until they don't.
▪️ Losers are small: HBAR -1.9% on $28M, TRX -0.7%, INJ -0.2%. USDC and USD1 sit flat, the only thing in this market with the sense to do nothing.
▪️ $52M in SOXL chip-stock perp liquidations hit in 10 minutes while US markets were closed. No real share price to anchor to, so leveraged longs got flushed into a hole.
▪️ Two 2013 bitcoin wallets moved about $34M in five seconds on Oct 17, both transactions in block 971894. It's part of a wider wake-up of old wallets that started with dormant BTC in August.
▪️ Thai police arrested a Chinese suspect tied to a $75M crime network in Bangkok, allegedly running crypto and FX exchanges for criminal groups across more than 133 accounts.
▪️ Chainalysis: a task scammer lost 60+ BTC (~$4.8M) in the Ledger implant thefts. Proceeds went into three Ledger addresses on Sept 22, were consolidated into one wallet on Oct 9, and each address was…

📊 Fear & Greed: 59 (Greed), yesterday 53

Greed at 59 and climbing means the crowd is leaning long and getting cozy. That's the exact setup where a 10-minute flush wipes out leveraged longs while the stock market sleeps. And when 2013 wallets wake up and Ledger money starts moving, it's the reminder: coins that sat still for years can start moving fast, and nobody sends you a memo first.

🪙 Riot photo turned into a coin: PIERRE ran 155x in nine hours

A guy stands guard in a gutted Micromania in Nice during France's riots, and degens saw a ticker instead of a tragedy. Gamestop CEO Ryan Cohen posted the photo on X, and by Sunday PIERRE, a Solana meme coin built on it, was printing green candles like it owed someone money.

▪️ The man in the photo is named Pierre. He tried to stop the looters and failed. There is zero sign he has anything to do with the coin, so nobody's cashing out on his behalf.
▪️ Market cap went from $9,700 to over $1.7M on Oct. 19, with $5.9M traded on Pumpswap in 24 hours. Nothing says 'real project' like a riot pic getting more volume than most L1s.
▪️ Copycats piled in like vultures at a buffet. 'mucron', a Macron-themed token, hit $1.1M, while traders counted 20+ rival versions launching on Pump.fun at once.
▪️ Best trade of the day: wallet wirelyss bought at a $6,310 market cap with $200 and walked out with $34,000. Congrats to the one guy who didn't need a chart, just a lucky timestamp.
▪️ PIERRE has no product and no team statement. It already trades about 27% below its peak, which is the market's polite way of saying 'you're late, bro.'

📊 Arrests after Oct. 17 riots: nearly 2,400
📊 Pump.fun wallets that lost money or made under $500 in 30…: 96.8% of 413,579

If you chased the top, congrats, you're holding a riot photo with a ticker slapped on it. The shopkeeper got a meme, the launchpad got the volume, and you got the bag. Pump.fun just added Hyperliquid perps this weekend, so next time you can bet on the mood with leverage and skip even pretending it's a coin.

🐋 Whale dumps $98M BTC long at a loss and sprints into a 20x Tesla bet on Hyperliquid

Wallet 0x30af, the Hyperliquid whale who was sitting on a 40x bitcoin long worth about $98M on Sunday, folded it at a loss on Oct 18. Two days before Tesla reports, the same account stacked $46M of leveraged Tesla and chip-stock bets. The cushion from the good months? Gone. Now the market gets to stress-test the new book, and you can bet the retail crowd is going to be the crash test dummies.

▪️ The BTC exit: 1,355.6 BTC closed near $80,945, a $3.26M loss per Lookonchain. Then bitcoin bounced to about $82,700, which would have been roughly $2.4M on that size. Perfect timing, as always.
▪️ The new trade: a $34.6M Tesla long at 20x on Hyperliquid's HIP-3 markets. These are builder-deployed perps that let you lever stocks 24/7, so yes, you can now get liquidated on a Saturday over a car…
▪️ Why it's a grenade: Tesla closed Friday at $354.72, only about 1.1% above the Tesla liquidation price near $350.82. A drop of a little over 2% wipes the position.
▪️ The chip bets are green, but the Tesla leg is down about $204,000 with the mark near $358. Tesla reports Q3 after the close on Wednesday, Oct 21.
▪️ Account math: about $2.83M of equity holding roughly $46M of exposure. That's max leverage with no room to breathe, like a hamster in a wheel with the door welded shut.
▪️ Past context: the wallet pulled $9,999,999 out on Sept 26 and is still only up about $2.18M all-time on more than $1.18B in volume. Hyperdash shows it down $9.53M this week and $6.52M this month.

📊 BTC exit loss: $3.26M
📊 Tesla long size: $34.6M
📊 Total exposure: $46M
📊 Account equity: $2.83M

If you're trading Tesla or chip names into Wednesday's print, this whale is your warning label: the account is running on fumes, and one 2% move at 20x ends it. The bitcoin leg is already closed, so the forced-selling pressure now sits in the Tesla book, not the BTC one. Don't be the liquidity for someone else's last-ditch escape.

🔮 Whale dumped $98M BTC at a loss and went all-in on Tesla at 20x. Smart rotation, or a guy who needed one last bounce to get out?

🔓 Qubic: 1,404 wallets drained, and the official line is that your seed is the problem, not their code

Qubic confirmed an attacker emptied 1,404 wallets on October 17-18 and walked off with about 2.94 trillion QU. The network's position: the protocol is fine, your seeds just didn't have enough randomness, so they were easy to crack. Translation for the chat: the vault is solid, but somebody got your key and the house is shrugging. Classic.

▪️ Vulnerable seeds came from iPhones and iPads using any browser before October 18, Macs on Safari before that date, or the Qubic iOS app before July 2025.
▪️ Computors halted the chain at tick 85,371,949 to stop the stolen funds from moving any further. Freezing the chain is a nice move. Hope you weren't in the middle of a trade.
▪️ 87.1% of the drained funds are still sitting on the network, frozen. The other 12.9% went to MEXC, which froze the receiving account in about an hour. Fast hands on the exchange side, for once.
▪️ Exchanges suspended QUBIC deposits and withdrawals. So if you were planning to get out, that door is locked too.
▪️ The team says the seed bug is fixed in version 4.26.4, and no new weak seeds can be created under the corrected system. Good. Now answer the question about the old ones.
▪️ What happens next is up to the Computor quorum. The Core team is identifying affected identities, and a community poll is open on Discord. Democracy, in a sinking boat.

📊 Wallets drained: 1,404
📊 Frozen on network: 87.1%
📊 Sent to MEXC: 12.9%
📊 Chain halt tick: 85,371,949

If you hold QUBIC from before October 18, or you ever used the Qubic iOS app before July 2025, pull up your seed history today and treat that wallet as burned. Victims are told to file a police report with wallet ID, amount and explorer link, which is a very polite way to pass the buck while the quorum decides who gets paid back. Don't hold your breath. And September was already a bloodbath: PeckShield counted 55 major hacks and $766.5M in losses, up 462% from August's $136.3M. Bitget lost about $387M and Liquid Network about $320M. Liquid got $285M back, and its attacker, who took roughly 4,000 BTC, promised to return the rest. Ledger CTO Charles Guillemet publicly doubted it. Anyone surprised by that is new here.

▪️ GTC +12.9% on just $20M volume. Thin book, fat green candle. Classic bait: somebody's about to dump on the hamsters chasing it.
▪️ WLD +9.8% on $56M, the most real money behind any gainer here. Less ghost pump, more people actually paying attention.
▪️ NEAR -4.7% on $111M, heaviest volume among the losers. Sellers are hitting it, not just drifting. Don't be the genius catching this knife.
▪️ PIERRE: a viral photo of a French shopkeeper guarding his smashed-up store became a Solana meme coin. Up about 155x in roughly nine hours, around $1M. Somebody's cashing out on the sympathy.
▪️ Hyperliquid whale closed a $98M BTC long at a loss, about $9M gone this week, then rotated into $46M of leveraged Tesla and chip bets two days before Tesla earnings.
▪️ Qubic confirmed an attacker drained 1,404 wallets, about 2.94 trillion QU on Oct 17-18, via weak seeds on certain iOS, macOS and app versions. Chain halted at tick 85,371,949.

📊 Fear & Greed today (yesterday 59): 55 (Greed)

Fear & Greed slid to 55 from 59. Still Greed, so the crowd is long, cocky and cooling off. The whale eating a $98M loss and the Qubic drain are reminders that the room is quietest right before someone gets robbed or liquidated. Expect chop today, and check NEAR's volume before you believe any green candle.

🔮 Greed is cooling, NEAR is bleeding $111M in volume, and everyone's still calling it a dip. So who's the exit liquidity this time? Spoiler: it's you.

🟠 Strive vacuums up 1,223 BTC, treasury now at 36,818 coins

Strive dropped roughly $100 million on bitcoin between October 14 and 16, according to a SEC filing dated Monday. Shareholders should ask who's actually paying for those coins, because the honest answer isn't the one in the headline.

▪️ 1,223 BTC bought over two days, October 14 to 16, disclosed in a Monday filing. Nice quiet way to announce a shopping spree.
▪️ Average price around $81,734 per bitcoin, by the company's own numbers. Their math, their homework, and you're grading it.
▪️ Not a one-off. The same week they'd already bought 2,822 BTC, so the buying is speeding up, not taking a breather. Somebody's got a schedule and it isn't yours.
▪️ Total reported holdings: 36,818 BTC, which puts Strive among the largest publicly traded bitcoin owners. Big number, big bag.
▪️ Coins don't fall from the sky. Preferred shares, equity issuance and other capital-market tools fund the buying, so part of every new coin is paid for by the people already holding the stock.

📊 Total holdings: 36,818 BTC
📊 Earlier same-week buy: 2,822 BTC

If you hold Strive stock, you're not just getting bitcoin exposure. You're holding a balance sheet that has to keep printing paper to keep buying coins. That's where dilution and funding costs bite you, and bitcoin can dump while the treasury keeps buying, because the treasury isn't your stop-loss. The filing makes no forecast on where price goes next. Nobody in this story is promising you anything except more buying.

🔮 Buying bitcoin with shares you sell to your own holders: is that conviction, or a very expensive ATM?

🐋 2016 wallet wakes after 10 years of sleep and moves 500 BTC to Coinbase

A wallet created on January 1, 2016 just shook off a decade of dust and sent 500 BTC (about $41.33M) to Coinbase on Tuesday, with bitcoin sitting above $82,000. Arkham ties the coins to convicted Irish drug dealer Clifton Collins and thinks the cops are behind the move. Officials haven't confirmed a thing, but that's the story everyone's chewing on, and the cops being the ones moving the bag is a pretty spicy plot twist.

▪️ Collins built his stash in 2011 and 2012 with cannabis trafficking money, piling up 6,000 BTC.
▪️ Then he lost access. The private keys were reportedly stashed in a fishing rod case that ended up in a landfill. Beautiful. Somewhere a bag of trash holds a few billion in potential.
▪️ Irish authorities, working with Europol, started digging these coins out earlier this year. This transfer is the fifth such movement in 2026.
▪️ Tuesday's transfer pushes the recovered total to 2,500 BTC. It's a slow drip, not a faucet, so expect more batches, not one big dump to ruin your weekend.
▪️ Same week, an unidentified "BTC whale" moved 411.45 BTC from a 2013 wallet, legacy address to a newer SegWit wallet, two UTXOs merged. That's housekeeping, not a sell signal.

📊 Recovered so far (Collins coins): 2,500 BTC
📊 Still sitting in limbo: 3,500 BTC (~$288M)
📊 Dormant wallets woken in October: 23

Old coins landing on Coinbase is never a hug, it's a question mark. The October wave of dormant wallets is already at 1,745.615 BTC per btcparser.com, so this isn't some one-off curiosity for the nostalgia crowd. Watch whether the Irish batches keep rolling in, because 3,500 BTC is still in the pipeline and that's supply with a date on it. Arkham's read is law enforcement, not a whale. The official side hasn't confirmed anything yet, so take the narrative with the same skepticism you'd give a 'guaranteed' signal from a stranger in a chat.

🔮 Police are the new whale on the chart now. Who's positioning ahead of the next batch?

Nobody cracked Ngrave. Victims typed their own seed phrases into a fake pop-up

Nobody cracked a single Ngrave device. Hackers hijacked the alert pipe of the Belgian hardware-wallet maker, served customers a fake 'security warning' on Oct. 17, and walked off with about $2.56 million from 70 wallet addresses on four networks. Oldest trick in the book: don't break the safe, just talk the owner into opening it.

▪️ The way in was a third-party notification provider behind Ngrave's LIQUID companion app. The attackers pushed authentic-looking alerts straight to customers' screens.
▪️ The fake message claimed the portfolio had synced with a Pixel 9 in Moscow. Approve or deny, with a countdown ticking. Both buttons led to a counterfeit Ngrave site.
▪️ Both paths demanded the 24-word recovery phrase or Perfect Key. Victims typed it in, and that was the whole game. Scripts emptied the wallets within minutes.
▪️ The door was open long before. Unauthorized access likely started Oct. 11. The attackers stole one access key, then used it to grab a key with broader permissions, including analytics data.
▪️ Ngrave spotted the malicious alerts within a minute, at 9:30 p.m. UTC. The first wallet was still getting drained six minutes later.
▪️ The loot got laundered through exchanges, bridges and fresh addresses. Bitcoin was traced across 12 addresses, XRP across 54 transfers. Follow the money, if you enjoy that kind of thing.

📊 Total stolen, 70 addresses: $2.56M
📊 Bitcoin: $1.77M
📊 XRP: $454K
📊 Ethereum-based assets: $316K

If you hold a hardware wallet and a 'security' pop-up shows up asking for your phrase, treat it as an attack until proven otherwise. Ngrave's device held up fine, but its trusted messaging became the weapon, and that's the scariest part. The company says it replaced compromised keys and added two-person approvals, restricted domains and an emergency shutdown for notifications. Exposed device data, IP addresses and rough locations mean targeted scams are coming next, so expect the follow-up DMs. 2026 has been a rough year for this category: nearly a dozen hardware-wallet incidents, with over $180 million lost across two of them. Cold storage is only as cold as the last thing you clicked.

💬 «In my humble opinion, the first duty of a crypto security company is to provide exactly that: security. In this, we have absolutely and utterly failed.» — Ngrave CEO

🔮 The wallet did its job. The weak link was the guy typing his seed into a pop-up. Still think 'my hardware is safe' covers you?

BTC $82,850, ETH $2,447 — ZEC ripped +9.6% on $216M while Strive keeps stacking

BTC is parked at $82,850 (+0.93% in 24h) and ETH at $2,447.23 (+1.44%). The majors are just drifting up, nobody's getting rich off that. The actual fun is in the alts, where ZEC led the gainers on real volume and ARB was the only big red name.

▪️ ZEC +9.6% on $216M and WLD +8.8% on $97M are the moves with actual money behind them. PEPE +8.1% on $60M rounds out the group.
▪️ SPCXB +9.2% on $45M and SOXLB +8.6% on only $22M are thin pumps. A 9% candle on $22M is how the crowd gets sold to.
▪️ ARB -4.4% on $30M was the only meaningful loser. XAUT, TRX, USDC and USD1 barely moved, so there's no panic in the tape. Nobody's running for the exits yet.
▪️ Strive bought 1,223 BTC between October 14 and 16, per a Monday filing, for about $100M at an average of ~$81,734. A treasury company buying the dip while retail is busy cheering green candles.
▪️ A wallet created January 1, 2016 moved 500 BTC (~$41M) for the first time in a decade. It's part of a wave of long-dormant coins that pushed this month's total to 1,745.615 BTC.
▪️ Thieves hijacked Belgian hardware-wallet maker Ngrave's alert system with a fake security warning, led victims to the attackers and drained ~$2.56M. Yes, the fake warning was the scam.

Fear & Greed climbed to 63 (Greed) from 55 yesterday, which is exactly when the crowd starts chasing green candles on thin volume. Strive is adding BTC around $81.7K while an old 2016 wallet wakes up, so someone with size is moving while retail gets hyped. Don't be the exit liquidity for the SPCXB and SOXLB pumps. Those are the ones that dump on the people who bought the top.

🔮 Greed at 63, a treasury stacking BTC and a 2016 wallet waking up. Who's selling to whom today?

🔥 Bitcoin rips through $84K and the shorts get rekt by the tens of thousands

Bitcoin punched through $84,000 on Wednesday, trading near $84,376 and poking at $84,739, and the bears who bet on a drop got steamrolled. About $188 million in short positions were liquidated across more than 71,000 traders, and Binance ate roughly 44% of all the erased positions. Somebody's sleeping well tonight.

▪️ How the trap works: shorters borrow funds to amplify bets that price falls. Price went up instead, so exchanges auto-closed every position that no longer had enough collateral.
▪️ Every forced close is a forced buy-back. Shorts buying to get out push price higher, which triggers more liquidations. That's the feedback loop, and it's the whole show.
▪️ Snapshot at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday: shorts took 77.4% of the 24-hour total, while longs got a light scratch of $54.89 million. Longs got a scratch. Shorts got a funeral.
▪️ Breakdown: BTC shorts were 94% of its $78.42M wipeout. Ethereum took $47.99M and Zcash about $14.80M.
▪️ Speed of the carnage: $68.12M gone in one hour, $144.68M over four hours, $182.52M over 12 hours. Nobody got a warning. Nobody ever does.
▪️ The ceiling is still there. $84,000 to $85,000 keeps attracting sellers. A close above $85K opens $86,500 to $86,700, while another rejection puts $82,000 and then $80,000 in focus.

📊 24h liquidations, all markets: $243.04M
📊 Traders liquidated: 71,223
📊 Largest single liquidation: $8.74M ETH short on Binance

Anyone still shorting this range is donating to the next squeeze. U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs are propping the move, with $23.16M in inflows on Tuesday after $526.60M on Monday. Fund money isn't a love letter, but it's the fuel. The Fed's October decision is the next catalyst, and CME's FedWatch tool shows an 81% chance rates stay the same, so the market has mostly priced in a hold. Nothing to see there, which is exactly why it's dangerous.

🔮 Shorts paid the tuition again. Real buying demand, or just forced buyers doing the work for free?
