Niantic just disclosed that photos and AR scans collected through Pokémon Go have produced a dataset of over 30 billion real-world images. The company is now using that data to power visual navigation AI for delivery robots.

Players didn't just walk around with their phones. They scanned landmarks, storefronts, parks, and sidewalks from every angle, at every time of day, in lighting and weather conditions that staged photography would never capture. They documented the physical world at a scale no mapping company with a fleet of vehicles could have replicated on the same timeline or budget.

Only some sellers got a license to sell cheap ones and almost 1yr old Huawei tablets in India. That's it.

Huawei smartphones and laptops will not be sold in India either. After sales would be handled by flipkart, so good luck with that.

NVIDIA Announced DLSS 5

NVIDIA unveiled DLSS 5, the company’s most significant breakthrough in computer graphics since the debut of real-time ray tracing in 2018. It is an AI-powered breakthrough in visual fidelity for games, coming this fall.

DLSS 5 introduces a real-time neural rendering model that infuses pixels with photoreal lighting and materials. It takes a game’s color and motion vectors for each frame as input, and uses an AI model to infuse the scene with photoreal lighting and materials that are anchored to source 3D content and consistent from frame to frame.

DLSS 5 runs in real time at up to 4K resolution for smooth, interactive gameplay.

DLSS 5 provides game developers with detailed controls for intensity, color grading and masking, so artists can determine where and how enhancements are applied to maintain each game’s unique aesthetic. Integration is seamless, using the same NVIDIA Streamline framework used by existing DLSS and NVIDIA Reflex technologies.
