Amidst the escalating tensions since the #PahalgamAttack, a deeply disturbing story has emerged from Rajasthan where a young mother, Bhor Rashmi, now faces the unimaginable - her infant daughter may have to return to #Pakistan without her.

A resident of Rajasthan's Jaitsar, Bhor Rashmi was married three years ago to Dhanpat Singh Sodha, a resident of Amarkot, Pakistan. Their daughter, Adarshini, was born in Pakistan. Rashmi and her daughter arrived in India on 3 April, but their visa expired on 27 April.

However, Rashmi does not possess a Pakistani passport and remains an Indian citizen on paper, whereas Adarshini is a Pakistani citizen by birth. Following the Indian government’s directive that Pakistani citizens must return within 48 hours after the Pahalgam attack, Adarshini is now required to go back to Pakistan - all alone.

"Neither has Shubham received recognition as a martyr, nor has the government eliminated the terrorists responsible for the killings," #PahalgamAttack victim Shubham Dwivedi's wife Ashanya said.

Ashanya, who now fears going outdoors, said she confines herself to a room where she spends hours gazing at Shubham's portrait and the shirt he wore during the attack.

Indeed, we have the foreign secretary flanked by two senior women officers - one a Hindu, another a Muslim. Vikram, a civilian, in their midst – someone who was born and raised in Kashmir and who know the issues there well.

#OperationSindoor, India’s measured response to the #PahalgamAttack, was unprecedented on so many levels.

The boldness of the strike deep inside the Pakistani ‘mainland’ has, in addition to showcasing our military prowess, “demonstrated India’s growing resolve to root out terrorism, no matter how far, how deep”, said Cmde Srikant Kesnur, an Indian Navy veteran.
