While the warm camaraderie between CM #Vijay and former CM #Stalin was a breath of fresh air after the high-octane elections, another detail caught everyone’s attention — the book gifted by Leader of the Opposition #UdhayanidhiStalin.

'Kalathin Niram Karuppu Sivappu' chronicles 75 years of the Dravidian movement, the history of the #DMK, and its ideological impact on #TamilNadu’s politics and society. The book was published to commemorate the DMK’s 75th anniversary.

Was the gesture symbolic, considering Vijay’s #TVK became the first party to come to power in a political landscape long dominated by Dravidian parties?

I take responsibility for this defeat: #Stalin vows to rebuild after #DMK’s poll loss

In a setback to former CM and DMK president MK Stalin, the Madras High Court dismissed his writ petition to nullify the victory of TVK MLA VS Babu in Kolathur Assembly constituency in the 2026 polls on Sep 3.

The first bench of Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G Arul Murugan pronounced the orders.

“The writ petition is dismissed as not maintainable,” the bench said. The court’s order has dealt a blow to the main Opposition party, which was unseated by the debutant TVK led by actor-politician C Joseph Vijay in the April elections to the Assembly.
