It turns out the average Ashkenazi Jew is genetically only ~25% Israelite once you factor in their Aegean/Anatolian Roman Imperial ancestry.

When you model them without this source of ancestry, they score about 50% Levantine. However, the distance fit almost doubles, indicating that the model is less accurate, and the z-scores for their Northern European ancestry drop below 3, indicating that the model is unstable and relying excessively on the other two sources.

The 3-way model using Israelites from Iron Age Ashkelon is technically successful, but the fit is much worse than the alternative 4-way models.

It's possible that Roman-era Israelites had more Aegean/Anatolian-related ancestry than the Iron Age Israelites, meaning that modern Jews may carry more than ~25% direct Israelite ancestry (some of which is represented here by the Roman Imperial source). However, no Roman-era Israelite samples are available and using proxies from Lebanon generates subpar results.
