Meaning: Getting information, ideas or language from learners rather than simply telling them.

Example: The teacher shows a picture of a rainy day and asks, “What's the weather like?” Learners answer, “It's rainy.”

Meaning: Checking whether learners understand the meaning of a new word, phrase or grammatical structure.
