On 19th October, Financial Action Task Force (FATF) issued a statement clarifying the urgency for a consistent global regulatory approach on virtual assets. Virtual asset service providers are now subject to AML and CTF regulations and should be licensed or registered and subject to monitoring to ensure compliance. Therefore, what used to be “good-to-have” Know-Your-Customer (KYC) practices will become a “must-have” now. How will this affect Blockchain & Cryptocurrency projects in the industry?

On March 20, our co-founder and Chief Technology Officer - Dias Lonappan held a presentation at the Money20/20 Asia conference as a part of the Startup Pitch contest where traceto.io was included in a selection of top 15 startups worldwide with the greatest growth potential.

Presenting on the idea behind traceto.io as a KYC network which fuses blockchain and artificial intelligence, Dias showcased the benefits of using blockchain for KYC and AML procedures. Essentially, Dias explained how traceto.io expanded from the classic B2B model of Cynopsis towards a more consumer inclusive B2B, B2C business model, and the cost effectiveness of using blockchain for KYC and AML - giving the judges a full overview of the potential and power of decentralized KYC and traceto.io network.
