βΊ The sell-off intensified significantly as investors pulled capital out of risk assets and broader markets following the very hot labor market report. The report not only reduced hopes for Fed rate cuts later this year but also revived speculation that a rate hike could potentially return to the agenda. Ultimately, we see an overreaction to a robust labor market report, amplified by the extreme gains seen previously and today's out-of-control surge in the VIX (fear index).
βΊ Yields rose sharply but did not move much higher after the initial reaction to the NFP data. The strongest moves were seen in shorter-term maturities, indicating that expectations for a potential near-term rate hike have increased the most. Longer-dated bonds were much less affected, as markets continue to expect that the conflict with Iran will eventually come to an end, allowing oil prices to cool again.
βΊ Energy prices have given back part of their earlier gains but are still trading lower for the day overall (WTI currently around -2.5%).
βΊ Expectations that the Fed is now significantly further away from cutting rates have also supported the USD. We see part of this move as an overreaction - especially considering that the ECB is already showing clear signs of a policy shift, including a likely rate hike later this month.
βΊ Our stock positions (and the Nasdaq 100) are now significantly off-profit. However, we expect markets to stabilize on Monday. Today's good news (a still-robust US economy) was received very negatively by investors - this effect should fade significantly at the start of next week.

We are tightening our TPs in Friday's after-hours trading following today's very sharp correction.
The market has repriced the Fed outlook and increased expectations for a potential rate hike at the end of July (while no rate hike is currently expected for the June 17 Fed meeting). Markets fell into panic selling. The strong gains of recent weeks and months, which had left plenty of room for a sharp correction, further intensified the profit-taking. However, losses have already gone very far at this point. If you are no longer holding a Nasdaq 100 position (or if your portfolio and risk management allow it), you may consider a small re-entry near the end of after-hours trading (range 28770 - 28800; add 10 points for the future). For the Nasdaq 100, we are working with an off-profit TP here. It was the sharpest Nasdaq 100 decline since April 2025 (Trump tariffs).
Silver initially found support within our entry range but extended its losses somewhat further afterward. We are tightening our TP here, but still see significant rebound potential.
The sell-off also hit our NVDA position hard, with NVDA closing sharply lower (-6.3%). In hindsight, we should have been more aggressive in shorting growth, software, and AI stocks today.
For EUR/USD, we are widening our TP slightly while also setting a SL.

A completely different session than the previous one (or even a week that was close to perfect for us until Thursday) - and for a change, we were not particularly good at re-positioning us for the shift in market conditions. We tried to catch the falling knife a bit too early and positioned ourselves for several expected intraday moves that ultimately never materialized. Instead, we saw a market that continued to pull capital out in panic, accompanied by elevated fear and rapidly rising volatility.
Looking back, however, I see an even bigger missed opportunity in not selling or shorting the sharp profit-taking in some AI, growth, and software stocks more aggressively. We did that with PLTR πΈ - although that was certainly a very good trade.
A great GBP/USD trade πΈ, but also an EUR/USD position that moved significantly further lower due to USD strength / the flight to safety.

Despite renewed missile strikes between Israel and Iran and a sharp rise in oil prices at the start of the week, we see markets increasingly stabilizing after Friday's panic-driven sell-off. Yields extended their gains, while oil prices at one point surged nearly +5%. However, we expect the oil price shock to fade significantly throughout the day as Trump also attempts to contain the escalation. It is particularly Israel's ongoing and even expanded offensive in Lebanon that has so far prevented any progress in US-Iran negotiations. We can once again adjust the positions we updated late on Friday and additionally take advantage of the current oil-price spike with a highly profitable short trade:

(+$2.2 futures contract; 95.00 - 95.50)
βΊ WTI is trading around +4.5% higher (Brent +4.1%) after Israel and Iran exchanged missile strikes overnight and again throughout the day. US President Donald Trump called on both sides to stop the fighting. Meanwhile, the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen announced that they had launched a missile offensive against Israel and would impose a "complete and total ban on maritime navigation for the Israeli enemy in the Red Sea".
βΊ Iran's offensive demonstrates that Tehran is now far more willing to support Hezbollah - something rarely seen in the past. This also highlights once again that Iran is unwilling to advance peace negotiations unless Israel ends its highly aggressive military campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
βΊ Israel's unwillingness to end its operations in Lebanon is likely to repeatedly undermine US efforts to secure a peace agreement with Iran. As a result, Trump will likely expand his de-escalation efforts to focus more directly on Israel as well.

Sorry for the delayed update - I was briefly in a meeting. I widened my TP for the oil position and only closed it now (if you are still SHORT WTI, you can also close in the β 89.10 - 89.60 range). In fact, I expect oil prices to further cool later today.
Our Nasdaq 100 position nearly reached TP in the meantime. We are widening it once again and also giving EUR/USD more room to move higher after the pair traded less than 10 pips away from our previous TP. Our new TP now allows for an overall in-profit close of the EUR/USD position.
Congratulations - we are seeing almost exactly the market movements that we anticipated at the end of Friday. Our portfolio already looks significantly better, with our Nasdaq 100 re-entry position in particular now very deep in profit. We started the new week with an excellent oil trade.

βΊ The current rebound following the sharp decline from previously much higher oil prices is already sufficient for us to go SHORT again here.
βΊ As mentioned earlier, we expect further cooling in oil prices. In particular, the clear US strategy of pushing for de-escalation - including increasing pressure on Israel and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu - is likely to be viewed by markets as a positive factor for peace efforts.
βΊ We are seeing sharply lower natural gas prices and expect oil prices to weaken further even if tensions between Israel and Iran persist.
βΊ Iran increasing pressure on Israel while also making it clear that peace talks with the US will fail as long as Israel continues its campaign in Lebanon further increases pressure on Israel and also increases pressure on Trump to exert more influence on Israel.

πΉ Nasdaq 100 (+2.0%) β is rebounding sharply from Friday's panic sell-off. The bottom was already established during Friday's after-hours session. In particular, stocks that suffered the steepest losses on Friday are posting strong gains today, including NVDA and other chip stocks such as AVGO, AMD, MU, ASML, INTC, LRCX, and MRVL. We can widen our TP slightly once again, which already allows for a very profitable overall closing.
π TP
πΉ Alphabet (-0.1%) β only saw mild losses on Friday and is increasingly viewed as a more defensive (tech) stock - though not to the same extent as AAPL. We are keeping our current TP (
πΉ Nvidia (+2.7%) β is rebounding strongly from Friday's deep-red session and still has room to move higher. Additional tailwinds for NVDA came from a partnership with South Korean memory-chip giant SK Hynix. RBC continues to recommend buying NVDA and calls the stock "too attractive to ignore."
π TP
βΊ While it may seem like a bold move to go LONG MRVL after the NYSE opening given its already sharply higher open (currently up around 9% and trading near 288.00), we expect further gains. MRVL lost nearly 17% on Friday, meaning the current rebound has not even recovered half of that decline - despite the stock still being up more than 30% week-over-week, including today's pre-market gains.
βΊ We see further upside potential for MRVL as investors rotate back into the chip sector following Friday's healthy correction. Additional tailwinds come from MRVL's upcoming inclusion in the S&P 500 later this month, which will force ETFs and funds to purchase MRVL shares.
βΊ Nvidia's $2 billion investment in Marvell in March, MRVL's strong earnings report, and CEO Jensen Huang's statement that Marvell could become the "next trillion-dollar company" continue to fuel FOMO buying.

βΊ After the initial excitement, investors are now selling AAPL sharply as Apple's recently unveiled AI plans have disappointed the market. Particular attention was focused on the new Siri developments as well as the deeper integration and partnership with Google.
βΊ Additional disappointment stems from the fact that Siri AI (as Siri is now branded) will initially not be available in Europe or China due to regulatory hurdles.
βΊ Apple also plans to make its camera smarter through AI features and introduce additional AI capabilities focused primarily on trust and safety. Overall, however, Apple appears to be taking a deliberately cautious approach and is notably unwilling to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on AI infrastructure and development - unlike companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, and Meta.
βΊ While I generally agree with the market's assessment that Apple's presentation was unimpressive, this may ultimately reinforce Apple's image as a defensive technology stock. The company is not blindly pouring billions into AI simply to ensure it has some form of participation in the AI race.
βΊ We expect some additional selling pressure into the NYSE close, but we are buying this dip with a small position size shortly before the market closes. The decline of more than -1.8% from the initial gains also weighed on the Nasdaq 100. Apple is currently trading more than -5% below its session highs, which also marked a new all-time high for AAPL.

βΊ After the initial excitement, investors are now selling AAPL sharply as Apple's recently unveiled AI plans have disappointed the market. Particular attention was focused on the new Siri developments as well as the deeper integration and partnership with Google.
βΊ Additional disappointment stems from the fact that Siri AI (as Siri is now branded) will initially not be available in Europe or China due to regulatory hurdles.

Really, really great session for us with some huge profits, thanks to the very sharp rebound following Friday's sell-off. We also made another outstanding NYSE opening trade with MRVL πΈ and successfully shorted the oil-price spike πΈ triggered by the escalation of the Iran conflict - both with excellent entries.
We are updating the SLs π / TPs
The biggest relief today was, of course, the strong rebound in tech stocks and especially chip stocks, which pushed our Nasdaq 100 position very comfortably back into profit overall - or, for those who had temporarily closed on Friday midday, provided a perfect dip-buying opportunity during Friday's after-hours trading.
Congratulations once again

We are seeing a strong start across equity markets. Asian markets also benefited significantly from yesterday's rebound in tech and chip stocks in New York. South Korea's technology- and chip-heavy Kospi, for example, surged +8.2% today after three consecutive losing sessions. Korean chip giant SK Hynix gained an impressive +16%.
The AI rebound is now entering its second day, with chip stocks once again leading the gains - both in Asia and in US pre-market trading - although we are seeing even broader market participation than yesterday. Yesterday's rally was heavily driven by the rebound in the tech and semiconductor sectors. In the end, only 3 out of the 11 sectors closed higher (albeit the important technology sectors). NVDA is also trading noticeably higher again in pre-market trading (+0.8%).
A great start to Tuesday.

Recommended Entry Rangeβ

π Nasdaq future (Jun'26) ~nearly same
βΊ The Nasdaq 100 continued to extend its rebound and recovered another portion of Friday's losses. The index moved above the 29700 level but encountered some resistance there. Among the factors weighing on the market were NVDA giving back part of its pre-market gains, AAPL remaining in negative territory, and some mild profit-taking following the stronger advances seen earlier. This was partly driven by a modest rebound in oil prices from their session lows. However, we continue to see further downside potential in energy prices.
βΊ Overall, the rebound rally remains vulnerable - particularly with inflation data approaching and the risk of renewed escalation in the Middle East. New or intensified Israeli strikes currently represent the biggest risk that the recently improved situation could deteriorate again.
βΊ OpenAI's IPO filing and the heavy oversubscription of SpaceX shares ahead of its public offering are further signs that demand for AI solutions and the broader growth outlook remain intact.
βΊ On the positive side, there are only a few economic releases or market-moving events scheduled for today that could derail the improved risk sentiment. Therefore, we expect the rebound to have some additional room to run before investors become significantly more cautious ahead of a much busier economic calendar later this week.
βΊ We are finding a similar entry level to our previously triggered TP and continue to see short-term upside potential. We also remain LONG the Dow Jones.
