Iran also reiterated that vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz without authorization would continue to be attacked. Additionally, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said the Iranian government must be overthrown and that the topic had been discussed with Trump in recent days.

► Nevertheless, we see oil prices stabilizing at lower levels and facing some short-term resistance, while overall risk sentiment has also improved.

► XOM is still down around 0.5% for the day, while CVX is up approximately 0.25%. We expect some resistance near or above 225.00. We are limiting potential losses with an SL.

► The White House has confirmed plans for US envoys Witkoff and Kushner to visit Russia on October 21.

► We remain broadly positive on the outlook for more defensive stocks and value stocks. We should have held our LONG position in MMM a little longer. We still see upside potential for 3M, but also the possibility of a better entry.

► WMT is by no means cheap, but it is considered a defensive quality growth stock that typically benefits from a high-inflation environment.

► We have seen some sector rotation, with capital flowing in and out - mainly depending on whether chip stocks can rebound again or renewed concerns emerge over AI spending and revenue growth.

► Oil prices fell sharply earlier today after optimistic signals pointed to a potential new path toward US-Iran negotiations. Some of that optimism faded following conflicting reports. Although oil prices subsequently rebounded, they stabilized at lower levels for the day - at least for now.

► We see positive market breadth and are going LONG in WMT here. We see WMT as well positioned as risk sentiment improves, but also solidly positioned if chip stocks come under renewed selling pressure. Improved risk sentiment has caused defensive names to underperform today - something we can also see in stocks such as AAPL, KO, and WMT.

► COST has a more attractive valuation, making it somewhat more appealing over the longer term. However, we expect WMT to continue outperforming for now.

Sorry for the late update - I had a meeting / consulting session with "colleagues" based in FL, US.

Another favorable session for our portfolio today. Markets rebounded sharply after once again overreacting to questionable indications of weaker-than-expected data center demand and AI revenue potential, fueling fears of an imminent slowdown in AI revenue growth. The sell-off was triggered by a 30% plunge in Korean provider Elice Group's shares during its stock market debut in South Korea.

Our Russell 2000 position hit its TP for an overall off-profit closing. While we see further near-term upside, we want to continue reducing exposure.

A flawless 5/5 session 💎 (SA/SR = 100%) rolled out of our rolling five-week calculation and was replaced by last Tuesday's 3/5 session (SA/SR = 60%). Our🔽 success rate slipped a bit to now still exceptional 87.5%.

We also closed COST with a small profit today, bringing the session associated with that trade to a phenomenal 8/8 💎 (SA/SR = 100%).

A good session for us and our portfolio 👏

A very impressive SPCX earnings report further boosted risk sentiment. SPCX surged around 8%, while NVDA jumped 2.1%, INTC gained 3.2%, and SKHY rose 2.9%. Nasdaq 100 futures advanced about 1%.

We also closed our Russell 2000 📸 position today (I closed 5 points higher) and will continue reducing exposure.
We can adjust our Nasdaq 100 target slightly:

We are tightening our gold TP ✅ slightly. Gold peaked near 4156, falling about 0.12% short of our TP. We are also bringing our EUR/USD TP ✅ slightly closer.

An exceptional NYSE opening trade in MMM 📸 today, as "always" - one of the best opportunities available. We also executed a strong SPCX 📸 trade, entering more than 10% below the current after-hours price. SPCX had also reported extraordinary revenue growth in its previous earnings release, but investors struggled to price it in. Still, we could have held a very small position through earnings.

It was a very good overnight session. SPCX and SMCI gave AI stocks strong tailwinds. Higher oil prices created some headwinds after statements from Tehran dampened optimism about a potential agreement mediated by Pakistan. Earnings season has been positive so far, and we expect further encouraging results to extend the rebound in the key AI sector.

Oil prices are now edging lower, giving BTC and gold a further boost.

Our gold position is around breakeven overall. We can widen our TP slightly further to target a solid overall profit. We are also setting a TP for our BTC position that would secure an overall profit. We want to find an exit in BTC, while there is less urgency with gold. Once our gold TP is triggered, we still see scope for better re-entry opportunities below 4150.

🔹 Nasdaq 100 (+0.65%) - continues its rebound, driven by gains in chip / AI stocks and particularly strong gains in SPCX. The stock is up more than 8% after the company significantly beat earnings expectations yesterday, delivered a better-than-expected outlook, and Musk endorsed a potential SPCX / TSLA merger. Server maker SMCI provided another sign of strong AI spending and demand: its stock rose more than 12% in early trading after preliminary quarterly results came in well above expectations. NFLX fell sharply after earnings. Key chip stocks such as NVDA, AVGO, MU, AMD, ASML, INTC, LRCX, etc. are up between 1% and 3.2%.

🔹 Walmart (-0.5%) - opens slightly lower and faces pressure from sector rotation, rather than fundamental factors. We would prefer to remove or widen our SL (to below 115.98) and set a tight TP instead. WMT has little risk of sharp losses, but the stock is not turning bullish yet either. However, our tight SL could be triggered at the opening for a small loss. We set the SL too tight here.

► We like the outlook for further gains in the AI sector. There are also plenty of reasons for optimism about SPCX, although it is already up more than 8% in pre-market trading.

► We are buying the weak opening in GOOG/L. I see Alphabet’s capabilities across the entire technology stack as undervalued and the recent pullback as very attractive, particularly over the longer term. GOOGL opens around 1% lower today, putting it at its lowest level in more than a month.

► We are also opening a small position in TSLA. While SPCX is attracting most of the Musk-driven hype buying - rightly so - a potential SPCX / TSLA merger is exciting news for TSLA investors. Tesla’s integrated storage business and the massive growth in its solar business are very positive, although the stock is, of course, very expensive.

► We see upside potential in precious metals and some additional modest tailwinds from the US Treasury Department’s announcement of Iran General License HH, issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). The authorization applies to seven specifically named vessels associated with Roxette Maritime Shipping and Trading S.A. Cargo may be delivered and unloaded if it was loaded on or before October 21, 2026. This is another attempt to slightly increase global oil supply to somehow “get” oil prices down ahead of the US midterm elections. It shows that the Trump administration is actively looking for ways to push oil prices lower - even if only marginally.

► Silver is significantly underperforming gold and is trading about 0.65% lower today. We see short-term upside potential.

► The overall improvement in risk sentiment is not a headwind for silver - quite the opposite. Gold is seeing some rotational flows as investors move back into stocks. However, gold also remains bullish. We remain LONG in gold.

A beautiful performance overview, with flawless results in recent sessions. Our 🟡 signal accuracy / success rate remains unchanged as a strong 6/7 session (SA/SR = 85.7%) rolled out of our five-week calculation and was replaced by a slightly weaker 5/6 session (SA/SR = 83.3%). We also reduced our open positions by closing BTC at an overall profit.

We could have closed our BTC position slightly higher, but as expected, renewed selling during overnight trading pushed it back below our triggered TP as we also saw oil prices edging higher again. Crypto has more room to rise.

It was a very good session for us overall, with our remaining open positions also benefiting from today's moves.

Our stop-loss levels were too tight on both CVX and especially WMT - sorry about that. Despite some exits at a loss, it was a very good session overall, with positive net realized profits. Our portfolio also benefited from today's moves, and we closed our previous BTC 📸 position at an overall profit (this refers to the previous position, not the optional 📸 trade).

As always, our NYSE opening trades were very strong, and keeping TSLA 📸 out of earnings proved to be the right decision. Both TSLA and META reported strong earnings, with META also issuing very upbeat guidance above expectations. We could have secured a better overall exit in META 📸, but profit-taking weighed on the market.

Much of the price action occurred during U.S. premarket trading. Avoiding overtrading was the right approach, although we should have bought some of the dips in the Dow.

We are tightening our gold TP ✅ slightly again - securing an exit and then looking for attractive re-entry levels is the better approach.

► The recent price spikes failed to trigger our TP. The real problem, however, was not securing profits earlier and then looking for fresh dip-buying opportunities. We repeatedly saw resistance around / above 4140.

► Gold is now trading around 4060 after sharp overnight losses - significantly lower on the day. Silver fell even more sharply and is trading more than 3.5% lower. The main driver for gold here is higher oil prices amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. Increased attacks on tankers by the IRGC and on Saudi energy infrastructure by Tehran-backed Houthi militants pushed oil prices higher. The US ordered some diplomats to leave Saudi Arabia amid threats from Houthi militants. After an initial rebound, the market turned significantly more cautious overnight following new reports of attacks and threats. Yesterday’s EIA report showed US crude inventories falling by 3.06 million barrels, compared with expectations for a much smaller draw. This also heightened concerns about limited supply.

► We can clearly see that, unlike Trump, Tehran is trying to heighten concerns and escalate tensions ahead of the midterm elections, further damaging the already struggling Republican Party. The most likely scenario is a complete debacle and a loss of power for Trump.

► We could sell oil here, for example Brent with prices up almost 3%, but I prefer buying gold and expect support in the 4050 - 4060 range - at least for now. We need to work with a tighter TP ✅.

► The sharply deteriorating risk sentiment, also driven by generally somewhat disappointing earnings reports - particularly from LRCX - triggered another strong rotation out of chip stocks into defensive stocks, with higher oil prices significantly amplifying the effect.

🔹 Nasdaq 100 (-1.6%) - is losing most of its weekly gains in overnight trading as the market has shifted back into risk-off mode. Most earnings reports were solid / even positive overall, but expectations were high. META initially rallied after earnings, but sentiment turned. Concerns about the financing and profitability of AI expansion returned to the spotlight amid lower investments from TSLA and declining free cash flow (FCF). A strong record quarter from LRCX was not enough because its outlook disappointed investors. LRCX also highlighted supply chain bottlenecks. We are tightening our TP ✅ after it almost triggered yesterday. Higher oil prices are also weighing heavily on risk sentiment.

🔹 Alphabet (-1.6%) - opens lower in line with losses in the tech sector. We found a strong entry range yesterday, but sentiment soured overnight as the outlook for AI revenue growth is being questioned again. Our position is initially opening at a loss. We are tightening our TP. GOOG/L is very attractive as a medium- / long-term holding.

🔹 JPMorgan (-0.6%) - opens lower in today’s sea of red. Financials struggle to advance when risk sentiment deteriorates. JPM opens near our entry price. We are setting a tighter TP for now but expect a rebound that could allow us to close slightly higher. We also continue to see financials as well positioned for a strong year-end rebound.

🔹 Nvidia (-2.4%), Intel (-4.8%), SK Hynix (-4.7%) - are giving back a large share of their weekly gains. Following warnings from AI equipment maker LRCX about its outlook and bottlenecks, the market is once again becoming fearful of the AI sector. Investment banks continue to strongly urge investors to “BUY” NVDA - today, for example, investment banking giant Goldman Sachs. We will adjust our positions after early NYSE trading.


► After several very good sessions for our portfolio, we saw a return to risk-off mode overnight and lower openings. There are, of course, dip-buying opportunities - including LRCX, which opens around 9.5% (!) lower after earnings.

► Our tight SL on WMT hurts again now, as we wanted to maintain some exposure to defensive stocks.

► The current sentiment environment is favorable for AAPL, although the stock is trading at fairly high levels. We are also looking for entries in SPCX and META.

► We are taking a defensive position here and choosing HD. The stock opens flat / slightly lower (just below 314) and offers significant upside as a consumer staple, while other consumer staples are opening around 1% higher.
