EFFECTIVE PRELIMS PREPARATION IN THE LAST 30 DAYS
1. Daily Practice of Mock test ( No subject specific ones. Only full mocks) between 9 to 11 AM everyday
2. Analysing the questions that went wrong, that were unanswered or those that were difficult to answer, right after completing the test.
Making a note of repeated mistakes made - including negligence or carelessness in reading the question, weaker subjects or forgotten facts or chronology etc..
This is mostly neglected but can make a lot of difference.
3. Practicing the Last 5 years UPSC prelims GS question paper and reviewing it with official key.
4. Stop learning from new books or new areas. Only revise ( Complete learning new parts or books before the last 30 days)
Schedule the 30 days in advance- Time Table comprising complete revision of prelims specific subjects(many revision cycles for weaker areas), current affairs, reading newspaper, working mock, reviewing the performance
5. We may know many aspirants who performed extraordinarily well in mock tests but repeatedly failed in UPSC Prelims. The below technique can be of use to any and specifically to them.
For the last 30 days, plan your mornings as you do on the days of prelims. That is go to bed early, wake up early, have your shower and food early and be ready by 8.30AM. Sit for your mock by 9AM as you would on the day of prelims.
This can fix your biological clock and reduce panic on the day.
Lastly, need not be complacent about CSAT paper.

Hope you find the above write up on prelims preparation useful
A small suggestion to people who are beginning their preparation this year or planning for next year, apply for a masters course under distance education.
If your optional is anything, take up that masters course under distance learning mode. Preferably IGNOU. or anything else.
This will have multiple benefits.
1. You'll start preparing your optional from day 1. You'll have a structured way of preparing
2. Till the moment when results come, you'll have a masters degree which is valid everywhere
3. You need not do any special preparation. What you're going to prepare for your optional, you're gonna write here too. Hence through the process of upsc cse prep, you'll get a masters degree
4. When you go to interview after few attempts and without any job experience, this wil help. Definitely a question of what were you doing all these years will come. In that scene, you can very well say you've been doing your masters.
5. In my experience, people got interviewed on the subject of recent experience largely.
Example - if you were recently working then questions from your job, if you're fresh out of the college then question from your grad subject etc. So if you are doing a masters from your optional then expect questions from that area.
Its an advisable option for all of you. So do enrol for a masters program. By hard luck few years later if you're in a position of giving up at your dream, you won't be going out empty handed. You shall have a masters in your hand.
Have a great day

Hi guys,
This is a chart of scientific analysis of prelims mock tests. This was sent by one of the aspirant on my advice. As you could see, the aspirant had made sure that each and every test is scientifically analysed

This is a test of right percentage. Usually one will get above 80% right in first attempt question as we are 100%sure. Then in second round, 60% n gets down drastically in third round. So do your analysis on which round, how much u can get
