AP News: Vermont is 1st state to vaccinate 80% of eligible population (June 14, 2021)

Vermont is the most vaccinated state in the country with 80% of those over age 12 vaccinated by June 14, 2021.

Since vaccinating 80% of their eligible population, Vermont's all-cause excess mortality has been twice as high as 2020.

Why are excess deaths higher in 2021 than 2020 in the most vaccinated state in the country❓

WAITSFIELD Monday Dec 6, at 6:30 pm Town Offices w/MASK MANDATE is first item on agenda. They have a model language mask rule that was drafted by VLCT and NOT available to the public until later today (agenda and packet will be posted here this pm: http://waitsfieldvt.us/agendas-minutes/) Town admin told me that enforcement is something they plan to discuss and they will propose that the health officer (Fred Messer) be in charge of enforcement... He has no medical experience but is a former military person. Mask mandate already in place for all town owned buildings "based on CDC guidelines and county transmission rates - what bs). The public is welcome to come make their comments at the public forum or join on zoom. I hope people will show up en masse in person.
If you shop/visit/own/rent in WAITSFIELD please submit a persuasive public comment. Suggestions include why a tourist town and getaway for health conscious people would consider blocking people from breathing and placing someone with no health training in charge. According to the 11/22 meeting minutes, they had the following discussion:
" Public Comment:
· Dennis Smith discussed the proposed government mask mandate. He explained that before the Town acts on it- if we choose to would – I would like to solicit feedback from the public. Dennis said he would like to know how the people in the town feel about a town-wide mask mandate. He urged the public to contact the Select Board.
· Daniel Kimbell mentioned that he believes in the science and is fully vaccinated. He doesn’t believe he should be required to wear a mask because others will not get vaccinated.
· Frank Empsall commented that he doesn’t believe there is enough manpower within the Police Department to enforce such a mandate. It should be left up to individuals to do it.

They are slow rolling out the mandatory vax, it was reinstating mask a couple weeks ago. Now blaming the Un-jabbed. I would suspect in the next coming weeks, most likely after Christmas, the mandatory vaccine will come out. Not sure if they will also impose proof of vax then or if they will separate the two. I imagine they will mandate the vax, give it a few weeks to see who caves, then they will bring the hammer down and say you need proof of vax to function in society. If you are going to stay strong through to the end of this, I would suggest you get prepared. Water, food, shelter are most important. Find like minded people to team up with because it will be tough to go it alone if you have not been planning and are new to this scenario.
