💸 230 TH/s just won a $210,000 Bitcoin block
A solo Bitcoin miner running just 230 TH/s recently found block 943,411 and earned 3.139 BTC in subsidy and fees — more than $200,000.
That is only 0.00002% of the Bitcoin network. The miner’s odds of finding a block were roughly 1 in 28,000. Riot, by comparison, operates around 30 EH/s — about 130,000 times more hashrate.
The block came just after Bitcoin mining difficulty dropped 7.7%, the biggest adjustment in months. As margins tighten, more industrial miners are shutting down inefficient machines or selling BTC to stay afloat. Riot recently sold around $250 million in Bitcoin. MARA sold $1.1 billion.
⚡️When weaker hashrate leaves the network, the remaining miners get a slightly better chance.
💡But for mining companies, luck is not a strategy. The only answer is lower cost per BTC — more efficiency, less power, smarter firmware.
