Today we celebrate the birth of Ganesh Ji, Who represents new beginnings. Ganesh Ji was created when Pārvati Mā moulded turmeric paste into the form of a boy to guard the door whilst she bathed. His head was cut off by Shiva Bhagvān's Trishul and replaced with that of an elephant. Whilst Ganesh ji is also the remover of obstacles and to whom we turn to before starting a new venture, his single tusk reminds us to retain what is good and throw away the bad as we come across new beginnings and the start of the new academic year. May this #ganeshchaturthi be an auspicious one for all.

It is the day where good triumphs over evil, light 💡over darkness 🌑 and Dharma over Adharma.
It is an opportunity for us to look within ourselves draw inspiration from the great figures from our itihasa, and find the qualities that will help us to overcome our troubles, fears and negative tendencies - a chance for us to summon the inner Durga Maa to defeat our inner Mahishasura.

It honours Surya Dev 🌞 (Sun deity), marking the start of longer days. Hindus across the world🌏 celebrate in many ways, including kite-flying and making sweet sesame and jaggery treats!🎁 which is seen as a symbol of being together in peace☮️.
In the southern parts of India, this Utsav is celebrated as the four day festival of Pongal,🎋 with the most auspicious day being Thai Pongal.

Today marks Holika Dahān, which Is celebrated as the festival of victory of good over evil.
The immortal King Hiranyakashipu Enraged by his son Prahlāda’s immense devotion🧘🏽♂ to Viṣṇu Bhagavān, ordered his sister, Holikā, to burn Prahlāda in a bonfire🔥
Holikā had been given a boon by Brahma Dev that granted her immunity from fire 🔥 , with the condition that she would not use this power to harm anyone else. So when they stepped into the fire, it was Holikā who died and Prahlāda survived.
Prahlāda’s example tells us that if we have a deep connection to what is right, even if we are alone in our journey, our shraddhā (reasoned belief) will guide us through our challenges.
And from Holikā, we learn that whatever abilities we have, we should use them for the right purpose and not to harm others.
Shubh Holikā Dahān!
