List of AI Tools and providers for procurement 🎯
First of all, I wish everyone a successful, healthy, and peaceful 2024!
The year 2023 was partly characterized by a strong AI euphoria. Everyone can decide for themselves whether this was justified or not. As I mentioned before Christmas, I will be starting a new series in January focussing on specific AI solutions in procurement.
▶️As a first step, I wanted to share a list of providers of several AI solutions with you today. It is certainly only a selection, as new tools appear on the market relatively often. It is therefore also a goal that this list becomes longer and longer. Therefore I would like to encourage you to support me. If you know of a provider that is missing from the list, please write a short note in the comments or contact me directly. After a quick check, I will add the provider. Even if some providers read my post, they are welcome to contact me.
⏩The next step is to present some concrete use cases of AI solutions that have already been implemented. I would like to present all facets of such projects transparently, i.e:
- What requirements do we need to fulfil before we start using AI tools?
- What did the decision-making process look like?
- What benefits do we see after implementation?
- What disadvantages have emerged?
- What should be avoided at all costs?
- What does it cost? What does the ROI look like?
Again, I would like to encourage you to perhaps share your experiences with the community. It is certainly a great added value for all of us. We can always present the use cases anonymously if desired.
⭕️Here is the link to AirTable, where I created the overview. Everyone should have easy access and be able to filter the list. If you have any problems, please contact me.

🟧I am already looking forward to the insights and very good dialogue

Went to a Procurement Leaders and ZIP company event yesterday. Also picked up some useful ways to use AI, see attached.
Speakers:
Nick Heizmann, Head of research
Jason Moore, Head of enterprise transformation office
ZIP is a company that has made great strides in terms of using AI in procurement. In fact, they have come up with a new direction for procurement automation - process orchestration. In simple words, they use AI to simplify the user's journey from initiating a purchase to receiving a product/service.
ZIP solution is an add-on - they can work with any tool, including such complex big ones as SAP Ariba.
A very important point voiced by colleagues from ZIP: before starting to work with AI, it is desirable to carry out at least basic automation, so that processes are established and data is collected. And then the AI will have something to work with.

Procurement is facing a defining moment. With AI integration, rising business demands, and market volatility, CPOs and CFOs must transform their approach—or risk being left behind.
The question is: Will procurement remain a strategic powerhouse, or be reduced to a transactional function?
In my latest article, I explore:
✅ The key trends forcing procurement to evolve
✅ Why traditional procurement models are no longer sustainable
✅ How leaders can shift focus to strategy, automation, and efficiency
💡 Procurement must eliminate low-value tasks, automate processes, and rethink its role—or risk being absorbed into other business functions.

Procurement at a Crossroads: Adapt or Be Left Behind
Why Procurement Must Evolve Now Procurement is going through one of the most transformative periods in its history. A wave of trends is forcing Chief Procurement Officers (CPOs) and Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) to rethink traditional procurement strategies:…

Why many CPOs struggle to secure budget - and how to fix it?
“We need to optimize procurement- streamline processes, automate workflows, upskill the team… but there’s no budget.”
Sound familiar? This isn’t just a financial issue - it’s a perception issue.
- If there’s no budget, it means leadership doesn’t see a strong ROI
- If they don’t see ROI, they won’t invest in procurement transformation
The problem? Procurement is a value driver - but only if it has the mandate, resources, budget, and time to optimize.
In this carousel, I break down:
🔹 Why investing in procurement matters
🔹 What procurement transformation really includes
🔹 What happens when companies don’t invest
🔹 How CPOs can shift the conversation and secure funding
➡️ Swipe through.

Feel free to share with your thoughts - how do you justify procurement investment in your company? What are the common roadblocks?
