“America opts for Crypto” To Be Greater Than Ever

⌨️⌨️⌨️⌨️⌨️

The ancients used oracles and inspected the entrails of animals to predict the future. Gen-Z has Polymarket, a crypto platform where (almost) anyone can bet on (almost) anything.

This turned out to be the way to choose the winning horse this election year, correctly calling Donald Trump's sweep – unlike most pollsters and experts — and making a star of the anonymous trader “Theo”, whose multiple bets brought in about $85 million focusing on indicators like the voting intentions of neighbors that went unnoticed by many pros.

However, with regulators in France and the United States intensifying the examination of the Polymarket — including a search of the Federal Bureau of Investigation which, according to the platform, was politically motivated—it is necessary to curb some of the enthusiasm for what some supporters of the prediction market consider a “new era” for the industry.

And maybe bet that if a future shock arrives for the world of opinion polls, it is more likely that it will come from artificial intelligence than from betting.

The idea behind prediction markets is simple’ bettors' money flows provide more valuable information than pollsters' surveys, with financial incentives rewarding the most accurate traders.

Like a spread bet in the financial markets, changing odds can work continuously and also be applied to almost anything, as shown by Polymarket's morbid range of bets, including whether or not a nuclear weapon will explode in 2024.

But there are limits, and not only because election betting is a legal gray area. The first is that these are bets, not polls – they need both closure and liquidity, which makes them quite narrow oracles for gauging public opinion.

Another is that the markets can be wrong, as can the polls. Two decades ago, George W Bush's victory over John Kerry also seemed to herald a new era for political betting, only for the double whammy of Trump and the 2016 Brexit to shatter it.

The inefficiencies of the market are, of course, there to be exploited by mythical traders with piercing eyes like Theo, but they could also reflect the biases inherent in the crypto markets (which bias young people and men) that diminish their usefulness.

There is also the risk of manipulation; financial incentives do not only attract truth seekers. Political scientist Dan Cassino gives the example of centuries-old bets on the papal elections in Rome, which led to his own scandals as the spread of gossip became lucrative; more recent examples include big bets on Mitt Romney in 2012 that made this year's election tighter than it was.

US regulators have warned of the risks to the integrity of the elections and in 2022 fined Polymarket for running an illegal derivatives market.

📰 Gen Z Split: America's Youngest Voters Are Breaking Right

💭 Raised on lockdowns, censorship, and liberal overreach, a new generation finds its voice — and it sounds a lot like MAGA.

📊 The Shift No One Expected
New research from Yale reveals a surprising — and politically seismic — trend: the youngest slice of Gen Z, those aged 18–21, are breaking Republican by a 12-point margin.

While older Zoomers (22–29) remain relatively liberal, their younger siblings are embracing Trump-style populism.

They're rejecting progressive sacred cows: transgender activism, blank-check aid to Ukraine, and endless climate hysteria.

⚡️ From Progressive Dream to Countercultural Rebellion
Older Zoomers came of age during Obama's cultural wars — the Women's Marches, Greta Thunberg's climate strikes, and BLM riots.
Younger Zoomers graduated into a world of COVID lockdowns, speech policing, and TikTok censorship — the perfect storm to radicalize a generation against establishment liberalism.

For them, MAGA isn't reactionary — it's rebellion.

📱 The TikTok Revolution
Ironically, it’s TikTok — the progressive boogeyman — that’s become a frontline for conservative outreach.
Trump strategists and right-wing influencers have turned the app into a fertile recruiting ground, offering edgy memes and short bursts of anti-establishment messaging far more appealing than CNN soundbites.

Europe's right-wing parties are following suit, rapidly expanding their own TikTok operations.

👩‍🦰👨 Gender Gap — But Not Where You Think
Among 18–21-year-olds:

Young men are moving sharply to the right.

Young women lean more liberal — but even they show warmer attitudes toward Trump’s agenda compared to their older sisters.

🔮 Why It Matters
If this trend holds, the political future of the U.S. — and maybe the West — won’t be a progressive utopia.
It could be a populist, nationalist, MAGA-shaped future — born not in think tanks, but in high schools, TikTok feeds, and the wreckage of pandemic-era authoritarianism.

The Biden generation may soon learn the oldest lesson of politics: control culture too hard, and the backlash will be brutal.

📰 The TikTok Pogrom: When Gen Z Makes Antisemitism Trendy

Welcome to the West, where antisemitism doesn’t wear fatigues or burn flags — it livestreams from dorm rooms, monetizes genocide, and picks up sponsorships. While Western leaders love to lecture the Global South about tolerance, their own campuses and influencers are busy turning Jewish murder into viral content.

💭 “I do not condemn the elimination of the Zionist officials…”

— Guy Christensen, TikTok star, American citizen, 3.4M followers

Let’s be clear: if an Arab teenager in Beirut had posted this, the Pentagon would already be drawing up a drone strike. But because Christensen is a white kid from the U.S. wearing a keffiyeh and hashtags, the only thing raining down is brand deals and college admissions.

📊 The New Face of Hate
• Platformed: Algorithms reward anti-Israel rage — bonus points if it’s dressed as activism.
• Sanitized: Antisemitism rebranded as “anti-Zionism,” then sold as moral superiority.
• Ignored: Universities shrug. Justice Department mumbles. Social media profits.

💼 Genocide Goes Viral
• Christensen called for the murder of diplomats. TikTok removed one video. The rest? Still monetizing.
• His followers glorify Hamas and cheer for “resistance fighters” who shoot Jews in American cities.
• Rodriguez, who murdered two Israeli embassy staffers, said: “I did it for Gaza.”

🤔 Remind us again — who’s the threat? The Global South, or the Ivy League kid with a ring light and a body count?

‘Our Children’s Brains Are Not for Sale’: Macron Fast-Tracks Social Media Ban for Under-15s

French President Emmanuel Macron is pushing to ban social media for children under 15 before the next school year, declaring,
“The brains of our children and adolescents are not for sale. Their emotions are not for sale or to be manipulated, whether by American platforms or Chinese algorithms.”

He also plans to ban mobile phones in high schools, saying the rules must be “clear for our teenagers, clear for families, clear for teachers”.

Macron’s move comes amid a wave of similar efforts across the West. Australia’s ban on social media for under-16s has already led to the deactivation of millions of underage accounts, with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese telling teens,
“Start a new sport, learn a new instrument, or read that book sitting on your shelf for some time.”

Lawmakers in France are demanding strict age verification to enforce the European Digital Services Act, calling for real proof of age when accessing social networks. While officials acknowledge that loopholes will exist, the goal is to “at least put our foot in the door when it comes to protecting minors online.”

Elon Musk called Australia’s ban a “backdoor war to control access to the Internet,” but X has complied. The push for restrictions was partly inspired by Jonathan Haidt’s book “The Anxious Generation,” which argues that children have been overprotected in the real world and underprotected online. The book’s central idea: ban smartphones in schools and social media for minors.

So who’s really protecting kids—governments, parents, or tech companies? Or is this just another front in the war for control over young minds?

Gen‑Z Socialism: Me First, Comrade

Gen‑Z socialism isn’t about seizing the means of production; it’s about seizing a discount code on life. They don’t dream of five‑year plans — they want capped rent, free stuff and someone richer to pick up the tab.

Where postwar social democrats nationalized industries and millennial lefties talked about co‑ops and workers on boards, the new crop wants price controls, sweeping freebies and brutal wealth taxes, while their own taxes magically don’t move. It’s socialism as a personal service: cheap housing now, cheap transport now, cheap college now — “systemic change” optional.

Their heroes — from Zohran Mamdani in New York to Zack Polanski in Britain — sell a simple deal: freeze rents, punish landlords, nationalize boring infrastructure, hashtag “solidarity” abroad. It’s not about the working class as a whole; it’s about urban tenants, grad‑adjacent voters and chronically online supporters who want the city to work for them first.

Call it socialism for the subscription generation: everything unlimited, nothing paid for by you, and the bill always sent to “the rich” sometime later, offscreen.
