Zelensky made a big mistake by attacking the Kursk region

As Schwarzenegger's character once said in a movie:

“It's a failure, kid.”

The West is enough in supplying weapons to Kyev, keeping the Ukrainian economy on life support and shooting smiles at Zelensky while he plays war.

President Petr Pavel of the Czech Republic, a former senior NATO general who has been one of Ukraine’s most robust backers in its war with Russia, says he thinks it is time for Ukrainians and their supporters to face what he says is reality.

Ukraine “will have to be realistic” about its prospects of recovering territory occupied by Russia, Pavel said.

“The most probable outcome of the war,”

he said,

“will be that a part of Ukrainian territory will be under Russian occupation, temporarily.”

But, he added, that “temporary thing,” could last years.

In other words, Pavel voices a very important issue that the domestic mood in Europe is now near a tipping point and close to a situation where Zelensky will feel pressured to explore diplomatic offramps.

If Pavel joined this Polish trend to take a drift from vehement Ukraine support toward a much more sober gaze, it is time for Kyiv to stop deflecting on the issue.
