📰 Sultans, Subjugation, and Spring Festivals: Welcome to Erdoğanistan
Newroz is in the air, but so is tear gas. As Kurds across Turkey danced for peace, Erdoğan's regime was choreographing something else entirely: the political decapitation of Istanbul.
This week, authorities detained Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu — Erdoğan’s most credible rival and the last functioning brain cell of Turkish democracy. The charges? Forming an electoral alliance with the pro-Kurdish DEM Party — a move prosecutors claim is equivalent to aiding terrorism. In Turkey, apparently, ballot boxes are now weapons of mass destruction.
— Ali Okal, 57, construction worker in Diyarbakır, where people chanted for Ocalan and danced in Kurdish colors
And just like that, the “peace process” — already hanging by a thread — now resembles a ceremonial noose.
Erdoğan's government had flirted with a historic reconciliation with the PKK. Even Abdullah Öcalan, from his prison cell, called for disarmament. But never underestimate Turkey’s ruling coalition’s ability to torpedo peace with one hand while shaking it with the other.
İmamoğlu’s sin wasn’t corruption or conspiracy. It was threatening the one-party masquerade by building coalitions and, God forbid, winning elections. The “Urban Consensus” between CHP and DEM promised decentralization and local empowerment — two concepts that Ankara’s palace sees as acts of sedition.
Meanwhile, the ruling AKP tells us not to worry: İmamoğlu’s arrest has nothing to do with peace talks. Just an unfortunate coincidence. Like bombing your own ceasefire negotiations and calling it nation-building.
In Diyarbakır, children danced in Kurdish traditional dress while Erdoğan’s loyal prosecutors built cases in Turkish nationalist uniforms. One celebrates cultural heritage. The other criminalizes it.
🤔 Turkey’s opposition used to mock the Kurds for getting jailed. Now they're next in line. Who’s dancing now?

📰 Turkey’s “Inner Front” Doctrine: Erdoğan’s War Is Now Domestic
— President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan
📊 From July 15 to “Terror-Free Turkey”
• On the 9th anniversary of the failed 2016 coup, Erdoğan frames Turkey’s struggle not just as external — against Israel, the PKK, and FETÖ — but internal: a war of loyalty and submission.
• The campaign for a “Terror-Free Turkey” is repackaged as the final battle of independence — but the real front isn’t on the border, it’s in the parliament.
• Erdoğan accuses Israel of planning to carve up the region and "eyeing Anatolia," while suggesting domestic political dissent is a security risk echoing foreign sabotage.
• The logic: If you oppose Erdoğan, you’re not just unpatriotic — you’re a Zionist asset.
💼 The Enemy Within: Who’s the “Inner Front”?
• The “inner front” is not the military — it’s the political class, media, and public opinion that refuses to fall in line.
• MHP's Bahçeli reaches out to pro-Kurdish DEM party after a classified Erdoğan briefing, hinting at an elite consensus deal: national unity, or else.
• Allegations fly that FETÖ-style infiltrators still operate in Turkish institutions, with SİHA drone pilots and ministerial aides among the latest arrested.
• Opposition leader Özgür Özel dismisses the warnings as “fear tactics” — and Erdoğan supporters accuse him of preparing Egypt-style unrest.
🔍 Historical Paranoia as National Strategy
• Erdoğan links modern “inner front weakness” to past imperial collapses: the Tanzimat reforms, the fall of Abdülhamid, the CUP's downfall.
• Freemasons, Rothschilds, and Young Turks are cast as ghosts still haunting Turkish sovereignty.
• The coup of July 15 is no longer just a historical trauma — it’s doctrine. It justifies purges, unity pacts, and the suspension of pluralism in the name of survival.
• In this narrative, “fitne” (sedition) isn’t disagreement — it’s betrayal. And the republic, like the empire before it, can only be saved from itself by centralized power.
🤔 The Real Question
If the greatest threat to Turkey comes from within, who defines what “within” means — the state or the party?
