◀️منابع کمک هزینه های تحصیلی چند دسته تقسیم می شوند؟
✔️اگرچه این سوال بسیار ساده به نظر می آید اما گاهگاه در تفکیک این منابع اشتباهاتی رخ می دهد. در این جا به صورت خلاصه بیان می کنیم و جزییات را به سادگی با یک جست و جو در سایت دانشگاه یا سایت های اطلاعاتی یا کانال @ApplyClub خواهید یافت

عمدتا چهار نوع فاند تقسیم بندی می کنند:

1⃣اول. ف Research Assistant یا RA که به واسطه کار در آزمایشگاه استاد به شما تعلق می گیرد و پروژه هایی تعریف شده اند که باید دنبال کنید و ... .

2⃣دوم. ف Teaching Assistant یا TA یا GTA یا ... که دانشکده پیشنهاد می دهد و معمولا نیاز به نمره اسپیک بالا دارد. کارهایی مانند حل تمارین، حل سوال، رفع اشکال، طرح سوال، تصحیح برگه و ... باید انجام دهید

3⃣سوم. ف fellowship که معمولا به ورودی های جدید داده می شود و عملا کاری جز درس خواندن نخواهید داشت. این فاند تقریبا خوشایند ترین نوع فاند است.

4⃣بر خلاف سه منبع اول که همه هزینه ها را، چه شهریه چه زندگی و چه ...، پشتیبانی می کنند، یک سری scholarship معین را هر دانشگاهی ارائه می کند که محدود است و هزینه های خاصی را تامین می کند. این کمک هزینه از طرف موسسات خیریه یا موسسات خارج دانشگاهی اکادمیک یا ... تامین می شوند و می توان همزمان با فاند های نوع اول و دوم نیز باشد و می تواند همزمان چند مورد اسکالرشیپ را با هم برنده شد.

معمولا دانشجوهای ایرانی پس از ترم های اول و دوم راه های افزایش منابع را فراخواهند گرفت و به این وسیله از نگرانی های خود می کاهند.

✳️ ADVICE FOR GRAD STUDENTS SEEKING A RESEARCH POSITION

Having trouble finding a research position? You probably have the wrong approach. It is a huge commitment and risk for professors to take on new graduate students. Research positions get filled instantly and professors are hesitant to hire students they do not know will be a good fit. Asking for a research position puts professors in an awkward position and many will not even respond.

Instead, first determine what you want to do for research. Second, identify your dream group. Third, learn everything you can about them. Fourth, identify their methods and teach yourself some of them. Reproduce their results where feasible. Fifth, start an e-mail conversation with the leader but DON’T ASK FOR A RESEARCH POSITION! Instead, ask questions about their research and what it is like to do research in that field. Share your results without sounding like a competitor. Be a person genuinely interested in their work that is eager to learn more. If you do this for a while, you will be seriously impressing that professor and communicated you are looking for research opportunities without directly asking.

Be patient. When a research opportunity arises, your efforts will put you at the front of their list.
