🏦 EUROPE'S BITCOIN INVESTMENT PRODUCTS ARE GETTING MORE SOPHISTICATED

Bitcoin investment products are evolving beyond simple BTC price exposure.

European issuer HANetf recently launched what it describes as the world's first:

EURO-HEDGED BITCOIN ETC

The idea is simple.

Bitcoin is normally priced in U.S. dollars.

That means a European investor can be exposed to two separate movements:

• Bitcoin price
• EUR/USD exchange rate

A euro-hedged product attempts to reduce the second risk.

Why does that matter?

Large European portfolios already hold significant exposure to:

• U.S. stocks
• Dollar bonds
• Commodities priced in dollars

Some institutional investors may want Bitcoin exposure without adding even more USD currency exposure.

Important:

Currency hedging does NOT reduce Bitcoin's own price volatility.

BTC can still move dramatically.

The hedge only aims to reduce the effect of EUR/USD movements.

This is another sign of Bitcoin's transition.

The first products answered:

“How do we get exposure to BTC?”

The next generation is asking:

“How do we fit Bitcoin precisely into an institutional portfolio?”

⛏ BITCOIN HASHRATE STOPS SHRINKING AFTER TWO QUARTERS OF DECLINE

Bitcoin's mining network appears to be stabilizing after two consecutive quarters of contraction.

Hashrate Index estimates global Bitcoin hashrate finished Q3 around:

941 EH/s

Previous quarter:

~940 EH/s

Change:

+0.1%

That may look insignificant.

But the context matters.

Before Q3, estimated network hashrate had fallen:

• -6.3% in one quarter
• -5.8% in the next

The network is still approximately:

8.7% BELOW

its level from one year ago.

And around:

15% BELOW

the estimated November 2025 peak near 1,110 EH/s.

Important:

Lower hashrate does NOT automatically mean Bitcoin is insecure.

Bitcoin's mining difficulty adjusts to changing computing power.

And 941 EH/s still represents an enormous amount of dedicated SHA-256 computing capacity.

The more interesting signal is economic.

Miners have spent much of 2026 adapting to:

• Lower margins
• High electricity costs
• Capital pressure
• AI competition for power

After months of contraction, the network may finally be finding a new equilibrium.

💰 PUBLIC BITCOIN MINERS HAVE SOLD AN ESTIMATED $1.8B OF BTC THIS YEAR

Bitcoin miners are changing how they use the coins they produce.

JPMorgan estimates miners have sold a net:

$1.8 BILLION

worth of Bitcoin during 2026.

Most of that selling came from:

PUBLICLY LISTED MINING COMPANIES

This marks a shift from periods when many miners preferred to hold newly mined BTC on their balance sheets.

Why are some miners selling?

One major reason is capital.

Public mining companies are increasingly investing in:

• New data centers
• Power infrastructure
• High-performance computing
• Artificial intelligence capacity

Those projects require large amounts of cash.

Bitcoin mining companies already control something AI companies desperately need:

ENERGY ACCESS

Important:

Miner selling does NOT mean miners are bearish on Bitcoin.

A mining business has operating costs.

Electricity, equipment, debt and infrastructure must be paid in fiat.

Selling BTC can simply be part of running the business.

But it creates an interesting new dynamic.

Some miners are now using Bitcoin-generated cash flow to fund the infrastructure boom happening around AI.

Bitcoin mining and AI are increasingly competing for the same megawatts.

₿ ONE YEAR AFTER BITCOIN'S $126K PEAK, THE MARKET LOOKS VERY DIFFERENT

Bitcoin's current correction can be viewed from a much larger perspective.

In October 2025, BTC reached an all-time high above:

$126,000

The market later fell roughly:

54%

to its 2026 low.

That is a major decline.

But historically, Bitcoin bear markets have often been much deeper.

Previous cycles saw peak-to-bottom declines of approximately:

70% — 85%

Kraken Chief Economist Thomas Perfumo notes that earlier Bitcoin cycles typically took roughly:

12–13 MONTHS

to move from cycle peak to final bottom.

This cycle may have behaved differently.

Bitcoin's drawdown has been shallower.

And institutional infrastructure today includes:

• Spot Bitcoin ETFs
• Corporate treasury buyers
• Regulated derivatives
• Institutional custody
• Broader banking access

Important:

History does NOT guarantee Bitcoin has already bottomed.

Every cycle has different liquidity, regulation and macro conditions.

And BTC remains highly sensitive to interest rates and ETF flows.

But Bitcoin today is not trading inside the same market structure it had four or eight years ago.

The asset is changing.

The cycle may be changing with it.

📈 BITCOIN RECLAIMS $84K AS OIL PULLS BACK

Bitcoin is starting the week back above:

$84,000

BTC briefly slipped toward approximately $83,500 before recovering to around $84,000–$84,150.

The move comes as energy prices ease from last week's spike.

WTI crude opened the week down roughly:

1.8%

after oil had become one of the biggest sources of macro pressure on Bitcoin.

The backdrop remains difficult:

• Treasury yields recently hit 24-year highs
• The U.S. dollar remains strong
• Bitcoin ETFs saw heavy weekly outflows
• Inflation concerns remain elevated

But Bitcoin has so far held onto most of its weekend recovery.

One level now matters:

$82,000

Analysts see that area as important short-term support.

A sustained break below it could reopen the door to another test of $80K.

Holding it would keep the broader recovery structure intact.

Important:

The next major macro catalyst arrives Wednesday.

U.S. CPI data is due October 14.

Markets will be watching whether higher energy costs are beginning to push inflation higher again.

That matters directly for Bitcoin.

Hotter inflation → higher rate expectations.

Higher rates → more pressure from bonds and the dollar.

For now, BTC is absorbing that pressure better than it did last week.

Bitcoin is back above $84K.

Now the market has to hold it.

🔐 LEDGER CONFIRMS HARDWARE IMPLANT IN TAMPERED WALLET

A major hardware-wallet security investigation has taken a serious turn.

Ledger has confirmed that at least one device linked to recent crypto thefts contained:

AN UNAUTHORIZED HARDWARE IMPLANT

The affected devices were sold through Southeast Asian reseller:

CryptoBilis

Ledger says all confirmed cases identified so far involve devices distributed through that reseller.

Third-party on-chain investigators estimate that between:

$86 MILLION — $93 MILLION

may have been stolen from more than 300 wallets across multiple networks.

That includes Bitcoin.

One blockchain investigation counted:

315 WALLETS

across six chains.

Important distinction:

Ledger says its own internal infrastructure and direct sales systems were NOT compromised.

And so far, Ledger has confirmed physical tampering in one affected device — not every wallet involved in the broader theft.

CryptoBilis has suspended hardware-wallet sales while the investigation continues.

Ledger's guidance to customers who purchased affected devices is also significant:

• Do not initialize unused devices
• Move funds from already configured devices
• Generate a completely new recovery phrase
• Use a new device from a trusted source

The bigger lesson goes beyond one manufacturer.

Self-custody removes exchange counterparty risk.

It does NOT eliminate supply-chain risk.

A hardware wallet protects your keys.

But only if the hardware itself can be trusted.

⚠️ LIQUID BITCOIN REDEMPTIONS STILL FROZEN 35 DAYS AFTER EXPLOIT

Bitcoin sidechain Liquid is still recovering from one of the largest security incidents in its history.

More than a month after the September exploit, users still cannot complete normal:

LBTC → BTC PEG-OUTS

The original attack exploited a vulnerability in Liquid's Elements software and allowed approximately:

4,000 UNBACKED LBTC

to be created.

Those assets were then used to withdraw nearly 4,000 real BTC from the federation reserve.

The attacker later returned approximately:

3,400 BTC

But roughly:

598.5 BTC

still remains outstanding.

As of October 11, peg-outs remained suspended while an independent security review continues.

Liquid's reserve backing is currently estimated at roughly:

86%

Important distinction:

This was NOT an exploit of Bitcoin itself.

Bitcoin's blockchain, consensus rules and BTC supply were not compromised.

The vulnerability existed inside Liquid's sidechain software.

Blockstream says the invalid inflation was removed from Liquid's corrected chain and the vulnerability has been patched.

But the reserve problem remains.

Liquid is designed around a simple promise:

1 LBTC = 1 BTC held in reserve.

Until the missing Bitcoin is restored or the reserve is otherwise made whole, normal redemptions cannot safely return.

Bitcoin remained intact.

The bridge built around it did not.

That distinction is exactly why layered Bitcoin systems need their own security assumptions.

🏦 BITCOIN ETF FLOWS TURN POSITIVE AFTER TWO DAYS OF HEAVY SELLING

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs finally returned to positive territory on Friday.

The funds recorded approximately:

+$21.1 MILLION

in net inflows on October 9.

That followed two extremely weak sessions:

• October 7: -$484.9M
• October 8: -$244.1M
• October 9: +$21.1M

BlackRock's IBIT led Friday's recovery with approximately:

+$22.4 MILLION

The improvement was small.

But the direction changed.

Across the full week, Bitcoin ETFs still lost roughly:

$679 MILLION

according to Farside's daily flow data.

That makes it one of the weakest institutional-flow weeks of recent months.

Important:

A $21 million inflow does NOT erase nearly $700 million of weekly withdrawals.

And one positive day does not establish a new institutional buying trend.

But Friday matters because the selling finally stopped.

Bitcoin also managed to recover toward $84K over the weekend despite the heavy ETF withdrawals.

That gives us an important question for this week:

Were last week's redemptions temporary risk reduction?

Or has institutional demand genuinely weakened?

Friday delivered the first small sign of stabilization.

Now the market needs follow-through.

📉 BITCOIN SLIPS BELOW $83K AS GLOBAL TECH SELLOFF HITS RISK ASSETS

Bitcoin came under renewed pressure overnight as a sharp selloff in global technology and AI stocks spread into crypto markets.

BTC dropped as low as approximately:

$81,050

before recovering back toward the $82,000–$83,000 area.

The move is interesting because some of the macro pressures that hurt Bitcoin last week actually eased this morning:

• U.S. 10-year yield: ~5.19%
• Brent crude: -1.4% to ~$105
• U.S. Dollar Index: -0.2%
• Bitcoin: roughly -0.4%

So this time, the main pressure is coming from broader risk appetite.

Technology and AI-related equities have been selling off as investors question valuations and future returns.

Bitcoin is getting caught in the same risk-off trade.

Important:

The next major catalyst arrives tomorrow.

U.S. CPI data is due Wednesday.

Markets will be watching closely for signs that higher energy prices are feeding back into inflation.

Hotter inflation could strengthen expectations for further monetary tightening.

And that matters directly for Bitcoin through:

• Treasury yields
• The U.S. dollar
• Liquidity
• Risk appetite

For now, BTC has already tested the low-$81K area and bounced.

The question is whether $82K can become support again —

or whether $80K comes back into play.

₿ STRATEGY BUYS 250 MORE BTC — BUT SPENDS $192M BUYING BACK ITS OWN PREFERRED STOCK

Strategy has added another block of Bitcoin to its treasury.

Between October 5 and October 11, the company purchased:

250 BTC

for approximately:

$21.5 MILLION

Average purchase price:

$86,194 PER BTC

That brings Strategy's total Bitcoin holdings to:

848,250 BTC

The company has now spent roughly $64 billion acquiring its Bitcoin at an average price of approximately:

$75,444

But the more unusual part of this week's announcement is what Strategy did alongside the Bitcoin purchase.

The company also repurchased:

1.93 MILLION STRC SHARES

for approximately:

$192.4 MILLION

That means Strategy spent almost NINE TIMES more buying back its preferred stock than it spent buying Bitcoin this week.

The BTC purchase was funded primarily through approximately $21 million of newly sold MSTR common stock, plus $500,000 of company cash.

Important:

Strategy is no longer operating as a simple:

“raise money → buy Bitcoin”

machine.

Its capital structure now includes:

• Bitcoin purchases
• MSTR equity issuance
• Preferred shares
• Preferred-share buybacks
• Dollar reserves
• Debt and dividend obligations

Strategy still accumulated BTC.

But this week's numbers show how much more complex the Bitcoin treasury model has become.

The Bitcoin stack keeps growing.

So does the financial machinery around it.

🐋 DORMANT BITCOIN WHALE MOVES $378M AFTER MORE THAN SIX YEARS

One of Bitcoin's older large wallets just became active again.

A wallet that had remained dormant for more than:

SIX YEARS

moved approximately:

4,582 BTC

worth roughly:

$377.6 MILLION

The Bitcoin was transferred into five separate addresses.

The same wallet originally received those 4,582 BTC in March 2020.

At the time, the entire position was worth approximately:

$40.8 MILLION

Today, the same coins are worth nearly $378 million.

That is more than:

9X

the original dollar value.

Important:

The Bitcoin has NOT been observed moving to an exchange.

According to the on-chain data, the funds remain in the recipient addresses.

So this does NOT confirm that the whale is selling.

Possible explanations include:

• Wallet restructuring
• Security migration
• Custody changes
• Estate planning
• Preparing coins for future transactions

Another old whale also moved approximately 4,500 BTC last week after more than four years of inactivity.

Dormant coins moving always attract attention.

But movement alone is not bearish.

The important question is where the Bitcoin goes next.

For now:

$378 million moved.

None of it has been confirmed sold.

🇬🇧 U.K. COURT RULING PUTS 61,000 SEIZED BTC UNDER CHINESE LAW

A major legal battle over more than:

61,000 BTC

has taken a significant turn in the United Kingdom.

The Bitcoin was seized by British authorities in connection with the massive Zhimin Qian fraud and money-laundering case.

At current values, the holdings are worth approximately:

£3.8 BILLION

Around 16,000 Chinese fraud victims are seeking compensation from the seized assets.

The U.K. High Court has now ruled that:

CHINESE LAW

— not English law — must determine the victims' underlying property claims.

Why does that matter?

The victims had hoped English property law could allow them to claim ownership rights over the Bitcoin itself.

Under Chinese law, their recovery could potentially be limited to:

• Original principal
• Interest
• Other recognized damages

rather than receiving the enormous appreciation Bitcoin generated after the fraud.

Important:

The court has NOT ruled that the U.K. government owns the 61,000 BTC.

It has also NOT decided how the Bitcoin will ultimately be distributed.

The ruling only determines which country's law governs the ownership claims.

Further proceedings are still required, and the victims' legal team is expected to challenge the decision.

But the stakes are enormous.

The difference between recovering the original investment —

and recovering ownership of Bitcoin that appreciated roughly 200X —

is worth billions.

The Bitcoin is already seized.

Who ultimately gets it remains unresolved.

📈 BITCOIN CLIMBS TOWARD $84K AS FED TONE SOFTENS AHEAD OF U.S. CPI

Bitcoin is recovering after yesterday's risk-off selloff.
BTC climbed approximately:
1.5% to just under: $83,900
after New York Fed President John Williams delivered a more dovish message on the future path of interest rates.

Williams said he currently sees NO NEED FOR ADDITIONAL RATE HIKES IN 2027.

His comments helped weaken the U.S. dollar and supported a recovery across Asian equities and crypto markets.

But he left one important possibility open:
One more rate hike in 2026 could still be appropriate.
That makes today's U.S. inflation report extremely important.

Economists expect September CPI to show roughly:
• Monthly CPI: +0.6%
• Annual CPI: ~3.6%
• Core CPI: +0.2% MoM

Higher gasoline prices are expected to contribute heavily to the headline number.

Important:
A softer Fed tone does NOT mean monetary tightening is finished.

If inflation comes in hotter than expected, markets could quickly price in another rate increase.

If inflation is cooler, Bitcoin could get another opportunity to test $85,000.

The macro battle remains simple.

Lower inflation → less pressure from rates and the dollar.
Higher inflation → tighter financial conditions.

Bitcoin is back near $84K.
Now CPI gets the next move.

🏦 BITCOIN ETFs PULL IN $175.7M AS INSTITUTIONAL FLOWS REBOUND

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs returned to positive territory on Tuesday.

The funds recorded approximately:
+$175.7 MILLION
in net inflows on October 13.

The biggest buyers were:
• Fidelity FBTC: +$103.1M
• BlackRock IBIT: +$65.9M
• Morgan Stanley MSBT: +$6.7M

Every other U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF reported essentially flat flows for the session.

The turnaround came immediately after Monday's -$65.4 MILLION net outflow.

That entire Monday withdrawal came from BlackRock's IBIT.

So in just 24 hours, the picture flipped...

Monday: -$65.4M
Tuesday: +$175.7M
Net swing: +$241.1M

Important:
One positive trading session does NOT establish a new institutional accumulation trend.

Bitcoin ETF flows have been extremely volatile throughout October.

But the timing is notable.
Fresh capital returned while BTC was recovering from the low-$81K area and moving back toward $84K.

And both BlackRock and Fidelity — the two largest players in the U.S. Bitcoin ETF market — attracted new money.

Price is attempting to recover.
Institutional flows just turned positive again.

Now we see whether buyers follow through.

⚛️ COINBASE SAYS BITCOIN'S QUANTUM MIGRATION WORK SHOULD START NOW

One of the world's largest Bitcoin custodians is calling for early preparation against quantum computing.

Coinbase says it currently custodies approximately 5% OF ALL BTC

And the company believes Bitcoin's transition toward post-quantum security needs to begin long before a quantum computer capable of breaking today's cryptography actually exists.

Coinbase says the challenge goes far beyond selecting a new signature algorithm.

A future Bitcoin migration would need to:
• Protect newly created funds
• Protect coins with exposed public keys
• Fit inside Bitcoin's limited block space
• Preserve independent full-node validation
• Work with institutional custody systems
• Remain practical for normal wallets

Coinbase highlighted flexible designs including:
BIP-360 / P2MR
and P2TRv2 as potential directions worth exploring.

The company is also preparing its own custody infrastructure and supporting Bitcoin developers and researchers working on the problem.

Important:
Bitcoin is NOT currently being broken by quantum computers.

There is no known cryptographically relevant quantum computer capable of stealing Bitcoin today.

This is preparation for a potential future threat.

And one major question remains unresolved:
What should happen to old Bitcoin that cannot migrate because its owner is gone or its keys have been lost?

That includes some extremely old coins.

Coinbase is not proposing a final answer.

Its message is simpler:
Bitcoin upgrades and wallet migrations can take years.
Waiting until the threat is real could be waiting too long.

⛏ BINANCE IS SHUTTING DOWN ITS MINING POOL AFTER SIX YEARS

Binance is exiting another major piece of crypto infrastructure.

The company has announced that BINANCE POOL
will permanently shut down on NOVEMBER 10, 2026
At 07:00 UTC, Binance will begin disconnecting mining connections and stop accepting new hashrate submissions and mining shares.

The shutdown also covers:
• Binance Pool
• Pool Savings
• Cloud Mining
• Transaction Accelerator
• Mining pool APIs
• Hashrate alerts
• Related mining services

Bitcoin miners currently connected to Binance Pool will need to redirect their machines to another mining pool before the cutoff.

Binance says eligible outstanding mining rewards and balances will still be processed under its existing rules.

Users will also have limited access to historical pool records until NOVEMBER 24
after which the pool pages will become permanently unavailable.

Important distinction:
Binance Pool shutting down does NOT affect Bitcoin itself.
Bitcoin's network continues operating normally.
Mining machines do not disappear.
They simply point their hashrate toward other pools.

The shutdown also does NOT mean Binance's main crypto exchange is closing.

This is specifically an exit from its mining-pool infrastructure.
Binance Pool launched roughly six years ago as the exchange expanded deeper into Bitcoin mining.

Now that chapter is ending.
The hashrate remains.
It just has to find a new home.

📉 BITCOIN FALLS BELOW $81K AFTER HOTTER U.S. INFLATION
⠀
Bitcoin is back under heavy macro pressure.
⠀
BTC fell toward:
⠀
$80,800
⠀
after hotter-than-expected U.S. inflation revived fears that the Federal Reserve could raise rates again this month.
⠀
September CPI showed:
⠀
• Headline inflation: 3.7% YoY
• August: 3.4%
• Core inflation: 2.6%
• Previous core: 2.4%
⠀
Markets reacted quickly.
⠀
The probability of an October Fed rate hike briefly jumped to almost:
⠀
50%
⠀
before falling back toward roughly 26%–30%.
⠀
Bitcoin was not alone.
⠀
Asian markets also sold off sharply:
⠀
• South Korea KOSPI: -8%
• Japan Nikkei 225: -5.2%
• Nasdaq futures: about -1%
⠀
Important:
⠀
This is not simply a crypto-specific move.
⠀
Higher inflation can keep interest rates elevated.
⠀
Higher rates strengthen the competition Bitcoin faces from cash and government bonds.
⠀
And uncertainty itself can reduce liquidity across risk markets.
⠀
BTC briefly bounced toward $81,500 before losing momentum again.
⠀
The key psychological level is now obvious:
⠀
$80,000
⠀
Bitcoin spent much of the past month fighting around $84K–$87K.
⠀
Now buyers are being tested much lower.
⠀
