Turkish perspective on Kazakhstan

🇰🇿🇹🇷 And here is the reaction of the Turkish Foreign Ministry to the protests in Kazakhstan. The department wishes the victims of the clashes a speedy recovery, and the population of the country - peace and tranquility. Ankara also hopes to end the confrontation in the near future.

There is virtually no collision assessment in the text. The government and the opposition are mentioned indirectly, and the entire statement is dedicated to the importance of the well-being and stability of the brotherly Kazakh people.

By this, Ankara demonstrates its readiness to work with any side of the civil confrontation in Kazakhstan. Both the current government and the opposing forces of the Turks are still completely satisfied.

🇦🇱 🇽🇰 🇧🇦 Officials in Tirana, Pristina and Sarajevo said they were baffled by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's claim that 'mercenaries' from these countries were heading to the frontlines in Ukraine https://balkaninsight.com/2022/02/18/albania-kosovo…
⚡️🇬🇧🇹🇷🇺🇦 Radical Islamists in Donbas - Russian-language channel rybar

Last week, the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, said that jihadist militants would take part in the hostilities on the side of Ukraine. Back then, we had a dispute with the Russian Orientalist @russ_orientalist about the groundlessness of such statements.

Time has passed, we have received proper consultations and we want to explain what is happening.

During the first conflict in the Donbass in 2014, all kinds of radicals and seekers of a better life were pulled into the combat zone: in accordance with their ideological guidelines, they occupied battle formations on one side or the other of the barricades.

🔹 We are talking, first of all, about the countries of the Balkan Peninsula: the region has a huge passionary-confessional potential, which today is being transformed into organized crime between conflicts. During the Yugoslav wars in the 90s, the Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda used this potential (read the article about the so-called "White Al-Qaeda"). After the collapse of Yugoslavia, the radicals began their journey through conflict zones: first the Afghan-Pakistani zone, then Iraq and Syria.

🔹 As soon as a conflict occurs somewhere, where the services of this whole cabal may be required, an extensive network of gang underground is activated. This is their professional craft, which requires constant participation in conflicts. This is dictated by the psychology of deviant religiosity.

🔹 First of all, we are talking about Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (mountainous part), Kosovo and Macedonia. The total number of militants can reach ten thousand people. But this is a heterogeneous mass, which, at the whistle, will rush to storm the waste heaps of Donbass, no. Someone is on the Balkan Peninsula, someone is in the ranks of the Jemati Alban in Syrian Idlib, someone has successfully integrated into the Taliban Afghanistan, and someone is enjoying the haram in Turkey.

🔹 The regional coordinator of the entire scattered network of militants is the Turkish intelligence services, which operate under the patronage of the British MI6. Hence the story about the Turkish PMC SADAT, which actually presents itself as a huge recruiting and mobilization network among the Muslim gang underground in Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

🔹 Since the end of last year, all this contingent in small groups began to be withdrawn to Turkey through the humanitarian programs of the IHH Foundation, which works under the direct control of Turkish intelligence. Agitation work is being carried out among ethnic diasporas in Austria, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, France, Sweden and Switzerland.

🔹 There are already reports of movements among the Jemati Alban (and, consider, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham - in terms of militants from the Balkans), sitting on their suitcases and waiting for a command.

Let's make a reservation right away: despite the huge number of direct and indirect signs indicating the formation of combat-ready groups, all this riffraff is unlikely to appear in the Donbass (at least in such huge quantities). As instructors in the national battalions, specialists and consultants - yes. But it is definitely not worth expecting that several thousand militants will mix with the Ukrainian Nazis. This is still not the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, where there was a need for this "cannon fodder". Even despite the direct interest of the British intelligence services in protecting their interests in Ukraine, the massive use of radical Islamists and members of various terrorist organizations in the Donbass will do Ukraine a disservice.

But the question remains open: if not Donbass, then where will all this potential be poured out?

Russia shakes hands with the Kurds?

What is currently going on between #Russia, #Syria and #Turkey in reality?

Some sources indicate that the state of Kurdistan is one of the Soviet projects of the 1970’s.  The Soviet government wanted to establish a state that would be loyal to them and had huge natural resources including oil.  But due to various circumstances and factors, the Soviets abandoned this project, and despite this, the Kurds still want to establish their own state until now.

The crisis broke out in Syria, and the Kurds saw the real possibility to make their dreams come true, and they asked the Americans for help.  The U.S. agreed to help – but on their own terms, one of them being access to the oil fields.

Russia wants to strengthen its position in the Middle East, especially now that it has encountered some difficulties in Ukraine. Moscow may make an agreement with Tukey using Kurds as a bargaining chip. Russia aims at getting a small victory, returning the lands to Syria and recovery of oil deposits.

The deal will be good for all the participants: Turkey solves the Kurdish problem, Syria returns its lands and Russia gets a victory. The Kurds will be the only one who loses the game and the possibility of creating their own state!

The desire to win the victory over Kurds has united the two countries which have not really had much in common – until now.

In case Turkey and Russia join their forces, it will put an end to the long-standing conflict. The Kurds and their ally – the U.S. – understand that clearly and they need to invent a reason for staying in the Eastern part of Euphrates and using oil fields there. That is why news about “IS attacks and activities” started appearing again.

After the Russia-Turkey-Syria negotiations in Moscow, Kurdish channels are now publishing “analytical posts” which say that Moscow-Ankara cooperation will do harm to Syria and Syrian people. For sure, that is done to prevent a possible Russia-Turkey cooperation, because the only party that will lose if that happens are Kurds.

🇮🇶🇸🇾🇺🇸🇹🇷 Turkish Air Force operation in Syria and Iraq and the American reaction

Simultaneously with the start of the counter-terrorism operation inside Turkey, the formal reason for which was the terrorist attack in Ankara, the Turkish authorities resumed attacks on the positions of Kurdish formations in Iraq and Syria.

🔻From October 1 to October 4, more than 80 missile and bomb strikes were carried out by F-16C/D fighters north of Mosul and east of Dahuk in Iraq alone. During the three days of the operation in Iraq, 27 sorties were flown.

And everything seems to look very good and beautiful. The Turks are hitting the Kurds in response to what seems to be clear. However, this will not give actual results. But the management reported on successes and raised the rating among the population.

🔻And yesterday, two Akıncı drones carried out four strikes on the positions of the “Syrian Democratic Forces” in the province of Hasakah. One strike hit a car with Kurds, the second hit a building housing SDF forces, and two more hit strong points near Hasakah.

But more interesting is what happened a little later. Footage of a Turkish drone destruction somewhere in northern Syria has appeared on the Internet. From the debris it became clear that it was a Turkish Anka-S UAV, and the successful catch was attributed to the Kurds.

However, the press service of the American Central Command said that the drone was shot down by US Air Force fighters because of the threat it posed to American troops.

🔻And in principle, in this case, the Americans are not lying. The attack on the SDS took place in the Hasakah area, that is, where the American contingent is stationed. In this situation, the destruction of a UAV over Syria can be considered a strong hint to the Turks that they are on the verge of a serious foul.

🇸🇾🇺🇸🇹🇷 The next stage of the Turkish Air Force operation in Syria

On the night of October 6, the Turkish Air Force again attacked Syrian territory, hitting the positions of the Syrian Democratic Forces. This time, the scale of Air Force involvement has increased: 19 F-16C/D, two E-7T AWACS aircraft and at least six Akıncı, Anka-S, Bayraktar TB2 UAVs.

Only this time there was a curious feature: the Turks did not fly into SAR airspace, operating strictly near the border. This is probably due to yesterday's incident with the Anka-S drone shot down by the Americans.

Turkish planes attacked almost the entire border, from Aleppo to Hasakah. Even three oil stations in eastern Syria, which are essentially under American protectorate, came under attack.

🔻The effectiveness of this operation is, as before, questionable. The Turks announced dozens of killed Kurds, but this is of no practical use. But Ankara can calmly justify its presence in Syria.

The Turkish Parliament has already started talking about the need to extend the mandate for cross-border operations, which expires at the end of October. And, given recent events, its extension is a matter of time.

🇹🇷🔋🇮🇱Turkey has suspended realization of energy projects with Israel

Turkey has suspended cooperation with Israel on the implementation of joint projects in the energy sector. According to the pro-government Yeni Şafak, also the head of the Turkish Ministry of Energy Alparslan Bayraktar canceled a visit to Israel scheduled for November, during which it was planned to hold talks with local authorities and companies on the purchase of gas and its transit to Europe. Also today, President Erdogan, announced the cancelation of all planned visits of Turkish officials to Israel due to the escalation of the conflict in Gaza.

The issue of gas transportation from the Eastern Mediterranean has become relevant due to doubts about the feasibility of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Pipeline (EastMed), the agreement on which was signed in January 2020 by Greece, Israel and Cyprus. The document envisages gas supplies from Israel's Leviathan field and Cyprus' Aphrodite field to Greece and then to Italy.

⚡️🇦🇿🇹🇷🇷🇺 Weapons from Azerbaijan to Ukraine

One can find many interesting things by examining various Ukrainian documents available online.

📌For instance, the decision of the Kyiv Economic Court sheds light on the military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

▪️ At the end of December, the Kyiv Economic Court reviewed a claim from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense against UkrSpetsExport to recover 82,696,776.00 hryvnia for breaching a state contract for weapon supply.

▪️ Representatives of the Ukrainian company signed a deal with a “foreign supplier - production association (Azerbaijan Republic)” for providing 95 units of 23-mm ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns, followed by another 40 units. In total, 135 ZU-23-2 were supplied.

▪️ The delivery was done via sea containers in parts through a “third country”, leading to a delay in the delivery.

▪️ Considering the geographical location, Turkey might have been the third party for receiving ZU-23-2 from Azerbaijan’s Nakhichevan.

▪️ The delivery dates also support the Turkey version: at that time, the well-established grain corridor was fully operational, with Turkey being one of the guarantors. The use of the sea route for supplying Ukraine might indicate direct Turkish involvement.

📌This can be seen as the first concrete confirmation of Azerbaijan supplying weapons to the AFU. The document states, “On November 2, 2022, and November 3, 2022, the entire batch of 135 units under the contract was imported into Ukraine in parts,”.

❗️Azerbaijan's collaboration with Ukraine is not new. Previously, the authorities in Baku provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Subsequently, it was revealed that ammunition was being produced for the AFU, and Azerbaijani mercenaries were involved on the side of the AFU. This arms transfer once again raises questions about Azerbaijan's stance towards Russia.

🇪🇬🇹🇷 Egypt's president in Turkey as relations between two countries thaw

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi began an official visit to Turkey Wednesday for meetings with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

It is the first official visit to Turkey by an Egyptian president in 12 years and comes amid a warming of relations between the two regional powers. In February, Erdogan made his first visit to Egypt in more than a decade after the two countries agreed to mend ties and reappointed ambassadors.

Ties between Cairo and Ankara collapsed in 2013 after el-Sisi, who was then army chief, led the ouster of democratically elected Islamist President Mohamed Morsi amid mass protests against his divisive first year in power. Morsi was a top figure in the Muslim Brotherhood organisation which has long been backed by Turkey.

In this second summit between el-Sisi and Erdogan since they began mending relations, they will reportedly sign around 20 agreements.

🇺🇬🇹🇷 Uganda signs rail building deal with Turkey's Yapi Merkezi

Uganda's government and Turkish construction firm Yapi Merkezi signed a contract to build a 272 kilometre (169 miles) section of railway, in a bid to boost regional trade, a Ugandan official said on Monday.

Uganda's Standard Gauge Railway project coordinator, Perez Wamburu, said the agreement was for the first section of a planned 1,700 km electric rail line, and the segment would cost 2.7 billion euros ($3 billion).

Its construction will start in November, Wamburu said. The project will increase trade and reduce transport costs, Uganda's works ministry permanent secretary, Bageya Waiswa, said at the signing ceremony.

The rail section will run from the capital Kampala to Malaba at the border with Kenya, connecting landlocked Uganda to its neighbour's rail network and on to the Indian Ocean seaport of Mombasa.

Black Friday Syrian-style

There is increasing evidence that HTS militants have already reached Hama Province, after previously claiming to have fully captured Idlib Province. At the same time, units of the "Syrian National Army" have occupied the Kweiris airbase and are moving further.

From a logical standpoint, the situation in Aleppo has become critical, as the remaining forces there now face the prospect of being outflanked. Given how the militants are disseminating footage of the captured territories, the flight of Syrians will accelerate.

It is now interesting to see what the Kurdish units, which are still present in Tel Rifaat, will do, as they are actively firing on the city, which clearly suggests an imminent attempt to storm the settlement under SDF control.

But with the withdrawal of Syrians from Kweiris, and consequently they will most likely also leave the areas to the east, sooner or later the militants will reach the Euphrates River (more likely sooner), which will directly collide them with the SDF, who are surely aware of this and preparing accordingly.

Of course, the main focus is now on Hama, which the militants are just 20 km away from. Given the pace of the collapse of the SAA's defensive line, the bandit formations will reach it today or by tomorrow morning. But the area west of Manbij should also be watched.

This is how Syrian lands, which were reclaimed over the years, are being given away for free in a fire sale.
