TRAI mandates affordable short-validity voice, SMS-only plans to help low-income users

Low-income telecom users will get more affordable and flexible recharge choices for voice calls and SMS, with TRAI mandating telecom service providers to offer shorter-validity voice-and-SMS-only plans.

Under the new framework, telecom service providers will have to offer voice-and-SMS-only STVs with an appropriate reduction in tariff for validity periods corresponding to each validity period of 30 days and less than 30 days for STVs currently offered for voice, SMS and data.

India's infrastructure output grew 4.8 per cent year-on-year in August

Strong growth in cement and electricity production helped offset weakness across several energy-related sectors.

The latest data is the third release under India's new infrastructure output series, which uses 2022-23 as the base year and expands the core-sector basket to include iron ore.

๐Ÿ“ Delhi: Responding to ANI's question about the LCA Mark 1A, Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit says-

HAL has already clarified the matter, and I would like to add that, initially, the delay was on the engine side. We could not get enough engines. Now we have received the engines and have installed them on the aircraft. We are currently conducting proper and thorough testing before the aircraft is officially inducted. There are only two or three technical points left to be proven, and I think within a month or two, we should be able to overcome those technical issues. Thereafter, the road will be clear for the aircraft to be inducted. We are also eagerly awaiting the induction of the LCA Mark 1A."

The Corporatization of Indian Healthcare

๐Ÿ“‰ Metrics Over Medicine

โ€ข Hospitals are adopting aggressive US-style business models where the primary measure of success is ARPOB (Average Revenue Per Occupied Bed).
โ€ข Major chains like Max, Fortis, Medanta, and Apollo are pushing ARPOB to all-time highs, ranging from โ‚น62,000 to โ‚น78,000 per bed, per day.
๐Ÿฅ The "Clinical Mix" Manipulation

โ€ข To artificially inflate ARPOB, hospitals are aggressively reserving beds for high-margin, complex tertiary and quaternary procedures.
โ€ข Fortis leadership openly attributes their revenue growth to high-ticket procedures like oncology, organ transplants, and robotic surgeries.
โ€ข Max Healthcare openly admits to changing their clinical mix to attract patients for high-end chemotherapies and specialized care.
โ€ข Narayana Health explicitly targets a wealthier "payor mix" by focusing on robotic and cardiac surgeries with rapid, morning/evening discharges to boost daily bed revenue.

๐ŸŒ Heavy Foreign Ownership & Consolidation

โ€ข Critical Indian healthcare infrastructure is heavily owned by foreign entities across Singapore, Malaysia, and the US.
โ€ข Nearly 60% of Fortis Healthcare is now Malaysian-owned following foreign stake approvals.
โ€ข Buyout investments in the sector are surging rapidly, with PE-VC funds witnessing a 156% rise in deals to extract value from the domestic market.

โš ๏ธ The Bottom Line
When hospitals optimize strictly for ARPOB, treatment access becomes heavily skewed toward affluent patients whose illnesses generate the highest profit margins for global investors.

part 2, in short:- West is increasingly coming to India for treatment, while 1.4B + a growing middle class makes it a massive revenue opportunity.

As India strengthens as the pharmacy of the world + medical-tourism hub, it threatens the Pharma cartel. Western PE/VC isnโ€™t just buying hospital chainsโ€”itโ€™s being run like 5-star hotels, with Avg Revenue per Bed now a key metric.

Rising healthcare costs both boost PE's revenue + make Indian medical tourism less competitive. Only to be compounded by voter appeasement-led deterioration in education

So far, the first stage of the GSLV-F18 vehicle has been stacked, with its launch expected to take place between October 15-20, 2026.

The mission is critical for NavIC. Right now only three satellites in the constellation are providing Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) services: IRNSS-1B and IRNSS-1I from the first generation, and NVS-01 from the second generation. Any satellite navigation system needs a bare minimum of four satellites to calculate a user's position on its own, which means NavIC currently cannot provide standalone navigation.
