Umar Khalid's Book Removed From Pune Institute Library To Avoid 'Misunderstanding Or Unrest'

A book written by jailed activist Umar Khalid was removed from the library of the Pune-based Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) after a social media post objected to its listing as a new addition.

The institute, an autonomous body under the Union education ministry, on Monday said it has removed the book, 'Fractured Communities: Adivasi Histories and the Politics of Power', from its library to avoid "any misunderstanding or unrest".

Sugar boards’ across Raj schools to promote healthy eating


Schools across Rajasthan will install ‘sugar boards’ to educate students about sugar consumption, its hidden health risks and the importance of healthy eating, following a directive issued by Directorate of Elementary Education Wednesday.

District education officer (elementary) Giriraj Pareek said the initiative aims to address health concerns among children arising from unhealthy eating habits, including consumption of junk food and fried items.
