<b>Daily Schmankerl: Bayern uninterested Klostermann, City unwilling to loan Cancelo; Wilfried Zaha linked to Bayern? Winners and losers of the Bundesliga and more!</b>

Meanwhile, some very silly rumors have emerged from across the Channel.Mario Götze to leave <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/soccer/bundesliga/teams/borussia-dortmund">Borussia Dortmund</a> on a free transfer (<a href="https://www.bild.de/bild-plus/sport/fussball/fussball/bvb-mario-goetze-aus-in-dortmund-67133134.bild.html">Bild</a>)It’s decided, according to Bild: Mario Götze and Dortmund will part ways at the end of the season, having failed to reach an agreement about a new contract for the former Bayern star and <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/fifa-womens-world-cup">World Cup</a> winning scorer. BVB’s sporting director Michael Zorc confirmed before Christmas that the club was negotiating with Götze’s father Jürgen, who represents his son. But now, Bild states, the two sides simply cannot come to terms.Götze is unwilling to accept a new contract that would slash his annual salary from ca. €10m to €7m. He therefore will leave as a free agent and sign elsewhere,<a href="https://www.sbnation.com/soccer/bundesliga/teams/hertha-berlin-bsc">Hertha Berlin</a>, which is in the midst of a push to become a major capital club, now backed by investor Lars Windhorst, is reportedly interested in Götze. <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/soccer/serie-a/teams/inter-milan">Inter Milan</a> is also reportedly interested. Götze was voted the biggest loser of the Hinrunde in kicker’s bi-annual player survey (see below).<a href="https://www.sbnation.com/soccer/epl/teams/manchester-city">Manchester City</a> unwilling to loan out Cancelo; Klostermann not coming to Bayern (<a href="https://twitter.com/mano_bonke/status/1214285757734670342">TZ</a>)As reported by TZ’s Manuel Bonke, FC <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/soccer/bundesliga/teams/bayern-munich">Bayern Munich</a> has been in contact with reigning Premier League champions Manchester City about a loan for João Cancelo. However, it appears that Man City doesn’t want to loan out Concelo, but would rather sell him.In the same tweet, Bonke also reports that Bayern is not looking to sign Lukas Klostermann in the summer. Bayern never seriously entertained bringing in the RB Leipzig defender and German International, according to Bonke.Der <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/FCBayern?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#FCBayern</a> hat wegen einer Leihe von <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Cancelo?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Cancelo</a> mit <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ManCity?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ManCity</a> Kontakt aufgenommen. (The Hard Tackle)</a><a href="https://www.bavarianfootballworks.com">Bayern Munich</a> could still look to add a striker for next season and one report is pointing the Bavarians to <a href="https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com">Chelsea FC</a>’s Romelu Lukaku, who is on loan with <a href="https://www.serpentsofmadonnina.com">Inter Milan</a>:Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing 29-year-old Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku ahead of next season. According to Fichajes, Bayern Munich could push for the signature of Romelu Lukaku. The German giants are keen on signing a new forward ahead of next season. And the Belgian international is one of their potential targets. The 29-year-old has not been at his best for a few seasons now. But, he is capable enough to turn things around. Lukaku is currently on loan at Inter Milan from Chelsea. And, he is expected to return to his parent club in the summer.Bayern Munich are one of the clubs that would love to have him in their ranks. The 29-year-old has been on their radar for a while now, and they are all set to push for him in the summer. The German giants need a new number nine. They are yet to replace Robert Lewandowski, who left for Barcelona ahead of the ongoing season. Lewandowski was a key part of their success, and they are in search of someone who can fill his big boots. While they were initially keen on signing Harry Kane, they are aware of the complication surrounding the <a href="https://cartilagefreecaptain.sbnation.com">Tottenham</a> striker. As a result, the German club have shifted their focus on Lukaku, whose market value €40 million. However, it will be interesting to see if they can manage to land him at the club as there are a few clubs who are interested in his signatures.Uh, no thanks.Anyway, Fichajes did not just list Bayern Munich as having interest in Lukaku. The Spanish outlet (as captured by <a href="https://www.90min.com/posts/football-transfer-rumours-man-utd-agreed-vlahovic-deal-liverpool-eye-milinkovic-savic-21-03-23">90Min.com</a>), also has <a href="https://www.managingmadrid.com">Real Madrid</a> as interested in the striker:One player who could be leaving Chelsea is striker Romelu Lukaku as Real Madrid are considering making a move after his loan with Inter comes to an end this summer.<a href="https://twitter.com/plettigoal/status/1637882857082290176?s=46&t=gLe-_YzJmVJHfEjMd8Qkbg">Cancelo’s potential still has Bayern intrigued (@Plettigoal)</a>Joao Cancelo’s loan from <a href="https://bitterandblue.sbnation.com">Manchester City</a> to Bayern Munich filled a need for both clubs, but the player has yet to really establish himself in Bavaria. FC Bayern München v FC Schalke 04 - Bundesliga Photo by Harry Langer/DeFodi Images via Getty Images Good while it lasted. According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich is unlikely to bring Manchester City loanee João Cancelo in permanently during the summer transfer window. There is rumored to be a release clause of €70 million (though, reports are never definite when quoting that number) associated with an acquisition of Cancelo, which is considered to be cost prohibitive for the Bavarians: The current tendency is that Bayern will not sign João Cancelo permanently. The Portuguese is too expensive and hence very unlikely to stay. Cancelo himself expects that he will leave Bayern this summer. If money was not an object, it would seem as if the situation might change. Head coach Thomas Tuchel and sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidžić have both expressed admiration for Cancelo, but the outside-back position is quite full at the moment with Alphonso Davies, Benjamin Pavard, Josip Stanišić, and Noussair Mazraoui all available. Spending the money on that spot could be considered excessive even if Pavard opts to leave this summer. News #Cancelo: Been told that it‘s very difficult to sign him permanently. Even Cancelo himself does not expect to play for Bayern beyond the end of the season.

Tendency at this stage: He will leave Bayern in summer but the bosses are trying to find a solution.

FC Bayern Muenchen Celebrates Winning The Bundesliga Photo by Nathan Zentveld/Getty Images It was a short stint at Bayern Munich for Joao Cancelo. According to transfer maven Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich will not pick up the option to buy Manchester City loanee Joao Cancelo. Romano has reported that it would take €70 million to acquire Cancelo, a figure which is far too high for a club like Bayern Munich, which already has Benjamin Pavard, Alphonso Davies, Noussair Mazraoui, and Josip Stanišić manning the outside-back positions. Even with some relative uncertainty surrounding the respective contract status of Pavard and Davies, along with rumored unhappiness for Mazraoui and a potential loan assignment for Stanišić, spending that number on an outside-back when the team desperately needs a new striker (and maybe a central midfielder as well) would not be prudent:Understand Manchester City are ready to sell João Cancelo this summer. He will return from Bayern, €70m buy option won’t be triggered. #MCFC

Arsenal appreciate Cancelo, he’s one of the names in the list #AFC

First call: @FabrizioRomano pic.twitter.com/5xkXAzcy2V— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) May 29, 2023While at Bayern Munich, Cancelo flashed his dazzling offensive skills and footwork, while also showing that he needs to focus a little more on defensive work. Either way, it was an astute loan by former sporting director Hasan “Brazzo” Salihamidžić at a time where Davies was struggling and Mazraoui was out with a COVID-related ailment. Now, Cancelo will venture back to Manchester City for the time being, as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Arsenal FC seem to be his primary suitors.

Bayern Munich - Paris Saint-Germain Photo by Peter Kneffel/picture alliance via Getty Images Let the roster madness begin! Daley Blind and Joao Cancelo...we hardly knew ye. Bayern Munich’s defensive duo that came to the club during the winter transfer window is now headed away for good. Blind came to Bayern Munich as a depth piece, who fit into the “break glass in case of emergency” kind of set-up, while Cancelo was brought in on loan from Manchester City in an attempt to add some dynamism to the backline, while Noussair Mazraoui was out and also so that Benjamin Pavard could be free to play more as a center-back. Now, they are both leaving. Cancelo will officially head back to Manchester City, but will likely be sold soon. FC Barcelona is reportedly among the interested parties. As for Blind, his future is a bit more wide open. There has been talk of him going back to Ajax or even taking the return trip to Manchester United, where his old pal, Erik ten Hag, is the coach. Whatever the case, both players are no longer with Bayern Munich: Danke für euren Einsatz, João #Cancelo und Daley #Blind. ⚪

Atletico Madrid v Manchester City - Preseason Friendly Photo by Lexy Ilsley - Manchester City/Manchester City FC via Getty Images Here we go! It is not just Bayern Munich making moves during the summer transfer window, but also some of the club’s alumni. Former Bayern Munich midfielder Angelo Stiller will be taking his talents to VfB Stuttgart where we will join former Bayern campus prospect Jeong Woo-yeong and former Bayern II manager Sebastian Hoeneß. In addition to those two aforementioned alumni, Bayern Munich loanee Alexander Nübel is also at VfB Stuttgart after spending most of the last two seasons with AS Monaco: ❗️ Angelo Stiller is on verge to join @VfB now! Coach Hoeneß wanted him as revealed six days ago. As a replacement for Endo.

1. FC Köln v FC Bayern München - Bundesliga Photo by Stefan Matzke - sampics/Corbis via Getty Images From one João to another. EVERYTHING is happening at Bayern Munich today. As one João lands in Munich for his medical, another might apparently be on his way back. According to both Philipp Kessler and Manuel Bonke of Tz as well as sources in Spain, the Bavarians have enquired about a possible move for Manchester City fullback João Cancelo, despite a deal already being agreed with FC Barcelona. Können wir bestätigen: Der #FCBayern hat sich in den letzten Stunden nach João #Cancelo erkundigt. @mano_bonke https://t.co/iciSIC4Ogc— Philipp Kessler (@kessler_philipp) September 1, 2023We can confirm: #FCBayern has been asking about João #Cancelo in the last few hours. @mano_bonkeThis move seems like a long shot at this stage of the window, but given that Barca were given a cut-price deal by City and Cancelo’s existing connections to Germany, it doesn’t seem impossible. The Catalans’ shaky finances compared to Bayern mean that outbidding them wouldn’t be an issue — especially with the proceeds from Ryan Gravenberch’s impending move to Liverpool FC to make up for the shortfall. In short, there has literally never been a more eventful deadline day at this club before, and it’s the kind of drama that actually makes you feel good inside as a fan. When you club goes out and spends money after a bad campaign, it makes you optimistic about the upcoming season. Cancelo would be a great addition, given that Bayern sold Benjamin Pavard and no longer have a right-back backup option. However, would he even agree to come to Munich and be a substitute? The good thing is, we’ll know in a few hours. Looking for more analysis? Then check out the newest episode of our newest Weekend Warm-up podcast! FC Bayern Munich v Grashoppers Zurich - Pre-Season Friendly Photo by Stefan Matzke - sampics/Getty Images Who likes Sunday games? Anyone? Bayern wanted Rabiot, but is trying to salvage Kimmich relationship (CaughtOffside)Bayern Munich has flirted with midfielder Adrien Rabiot many times over the years and things might have actually gotten more serious between the two parties this summer — but a renewed commitment to Joshua Kimmich playing as a central midfielder ended all of that per Sport Bild’s Christian Falk (in his work for CaughtOffside). “There were talks in the past for Adrien Rabiot back when Hasan Salihamidžić was the sports director. At the moment, this isn’t hot, as Bayern are planning with Joshua Kimmich in this position. He will return in the midfield and be handed a clean slate,” said Falk. Rabiot profiles more as a No. 8, which is completely overloaded on Bayern Munich’s roster at the moment. Even if Kimmich left, it would have been overkill. Barca still trying to keep Cancelo (@Plettigoal)João Cancelo spent time last season with FC Barcelona on loan and the Catalans would love to have him back: Been told that @FCBarcelona are still exploring deal to sign João #Cancelo until Deadline Day!
