Niko Kovac wants Bayern Munich to take a look at Hertha Berlin’s Arne Maier

It appears that the Borussia Monchengladbach duo of Denis Zakaria and Florian Neuhaus was not the only Bundesliga talent that Niko Kovac had his eyes on. Conflicting reports: Timo Werner’s “imminent” transfer to Bayern Munich is disputed
RB Leipzig Training Camp Photo by TF-Images/Getty Images Would today even register as a real day if we didn’t have conflicting reports on a transfer rumor? RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner is one of the fastest players in the Bundesliga, but when a report came out from the Südwest Presse that the 23-year-old forward’s transfer to Bayern Munich was “imminent”, another outlet hit warp speed to refute the claim. The Südwest Presse produced a story that said Werner could be moving to Bavaria “immediately.” According to our newspaper, the change of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig to FC Bayern Munich is imminent. The 23-year-old striker, born in Stuttgart, who still had a contract with the Saxons until 2020 and who could have changed after that without a replacement, is now leaving the third-place team of the past Bundesliga season immediately and is in agreement with the Munich team. The Leipzig team wanted to extend the contract with the 25-time international, who played for the former Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart until 2016. But now, after months of negotiations, Werner has decided in favor of the Munich team.TZ reporter Manuel Bonke, however, quickly sprang into action to refute the rumor. <b>Bayern Munich might still be chasing a back-up for Robert Lewandowski</b>

FSV Mainz 05 - Bundesliga</a> Photo by TF-Images/Getty Images A report states that Bayern Munich was exploring buying a back-up to Robert Lewandowski this summer. Are the Bavarians still in the hunt for a veteran reserve? According to a report from <em>tz</em> journalist Manuel Bonke, <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/soccer/bundesliga/teams/bayern-munich">Bayern Munich</a> engaged in discussions this summer regarding a move for a back-up striker. Specifically, the Bavarians explored the transfers of either <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/soccer/bundesliga/players/251709/max-kruse">Max Kruse</a> and Sebastien Haller. Both players transferred eventually during the summer window. Kruse made the change from <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/soccer/bundesliga/teams/werder-bremen">Werder Bremen</a> to Fenerbahce on a free transfer, while Haller made the switch from <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/soccer/bundesliga/teams/eintracht-frankfurt">Eintracht Frankfurt</a> to <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/soccer/epl/teams/west-ham-united">West Ham United</a> for €50 million, which was probably more than the Bayern front office was willing to spend. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/FCBTransfersommer?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#FCBTransfersommer</a>— Manuel Bonke (@mano_bonke) <a href="https://twitter.com/mano_bonke/status/1172167461598302208?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 12, 2019</a>Interesting: @FCBayern discussed a backup for @lewy_official internally over the past few months. There were discussions with the agents of Sebastien Haller & Max Kruse. Haller was too expensive for the Bavarians, while they did not view Kruse as a one-to-one replacement for Lewy. #FCBTransfersommerGiven that Bayern Munich also passed on a move for RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner this summer, it seems as if the Bavarians had a specific profile in mind if it was going to bring in a back-up for Lewandowski. If Bayern Munich is still in pursuit of a true back-up to Lewandowski, the natural question would be: What happens to Fiete Arp? Arp, 19-year-old transfer from <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/soccer/bundesliga/teams/hamburger-sv-hsv">Hamburger SV</a>, had a solid preseason with Bayern Munich, but has been battling an illness and a lack of first-team field time so far this season. Does the Bayern Munich front office still have belief in Arp or are they just looking a veteran presence as a contingency measure should Lewandowski get hurt? As the Bavarians approach the winter <a href="http://www.sbnation.com/transfer-rumors">transfer window</a>, we should find out.BFW AnalysisAssuming Bayern Munich really wants to make a move and has a specific kind of striker in mind, it is entirely possible that the club still likes Arp, but senses it might need one more forward with a mentality like the one that Ivan Perisic has brought to the Allianz Arena. Who are some possibilities we could see Bayern Munich making a move for in the winter transfer window? The profile we hypothesized is as follows: Being relatively oldNot requiring a lot of playing time to be effectiveBeing relatively cheapAccepting of a back-up roleHaving a bit of hunger to chase <a href="https://www.sbnation.com/champions-league">Champions League</a> glory <a href="https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/uefa-to-allow-january-transfers-to-switch-clubs…

Could Adrian Fein be Bayern Munich’s next great defensive midfielder?
Hamburger SV v VfB Stuttgart - DFB Cup Photo by Boris Streubel/Bongarts/Getty ImagesThe youngster has been impressive in the 2.Bundesliga with HSV, and he could be exactly what the Bavarians were looking for.According to TZ journalist Manuel Bonke (usually very reliable with regards to transfer rumors), Bayern Munich plan to integrate Adrian Fein in the first team next year. The German youngster, who went on loan to Hamburger SV to take the next step in his career, has been a revelation in the 2.Bundesliga, playing every single game so far this season. HSV sit second in the league table, and are one of the main candidates vying for promotion. Here’s the tweet in question by Bonke:Interessant: Adrian #Fein soll den FCB nächste Saison verstärken und sich ab Sommer bei den Profis beweisen. The #HSV Loan player reportedly facing an extension of his 2021 contract with the German record champions. #FCBTransfersommerApparently, Bayern are ready to extend Fein’s contract (which expires in 2021) and begin integrating him with the professionals from next summer onward. With the recent success of Alphonso Davies (and hopefully Joshua Zirkzee), there is renewed hope for the careers of youngsters at Bayern Munich. As a DM, Fein finds himself bursting onto the scene at just the right moment. Bayern need a new defensive midfielder to pick up the mantle from Javi Martinez, who’s on the wrong side of 30. Joshua Kimmich and Thiago Alcantara have filled the role so far this season, but they’re better used in other positions. In Fein, the Bavarians might have found an in-house solution for their problems.Adrian Fein (and Dandy), Hamburg 19-20.

It’s also important to note that Fein just recently suffered a facial fracture at the beginning of the month and faces a spell on the sidelines, which has come as a blow to Hamburg, who are fighting to stay in the top two automatic promotion places in the second division.<strong>Opportunity beckoning for Fein at Bayern?</strong>As a defensive midfielder, Fein is exactly the type of player that Bayern could use. Michael Cuisance wants to stay and assert himself at Bayern despite interest from AC Milan
FC Bayern Muenchen v FC Augsburg - Bundesliga Photo by Sebastian Widmann/Bongarts/Getty ImagesCuisance is adamant on staying in Munich and proving his worth as opposed to moving in the summer.Ever since joining Bayern Munich from Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of this summer’s transfer window, it hasn’t really worked out for Michael Cuisance. The midfielder has only made 4 appearances for the first team this season; 3 times in the Bundesliga and once in the DFB-Pokal. Most of his time has been spent playing with Bayern’s reserves in the 3. Liga, though he has had his fair share of injury problems as well.Per Manuel Bonke of Tz, Cuisance is ready and willing to stay in Munich to try and assert himself, despite interest from Serie A. Despite him hardly featuring for the first team, too, Bayern isn’t ready to let him go just yet. It seems that there’s an understanding between the player and the club that he should stay in Munich and do everything he can to prove himself. The COVID-19 pandemic could give him a larger window to do so and it also puts the summer transfer window in significant jeopardy. Even if he wanted to leave Bayern, it might not be as cut-and-dry of a process as it could be.Neben der Tatsache, dass der #FCBayern derzeit nicht plant, Michael #Cuisance abzugeben, schließt der Spieler selbst ein Engagement in der italienischen Serie A - und somit beim AC Mailand - komplett aus. The Rossoneri is facing the prospect of losing midfielders Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura as both of their contracts with Milan expire on June 30th of this year. Both players play integral roles in Milan’s midfield and it’s understood that the club’s chief scout, Geoffrey Moncada is a big fan of Cuisance’s. Moncada feels that the Frenchmen fits the bill for Milan perfectly; a young, inexpensive midfielder with plenty of potential to develop in a squad that’s less star-studded than Bayern’s. Moncada also tracked Cuisance during the U-20 World Cup in 2019 when the midfielder showcased strong performances playing for France. What do you all think? Should Cuisance stay and try to assert himself, or should we let him go for somewhere between 10 and 15-million Euros? Let us know in the comments section!Read more...

Rummenigge denies rumors that Bayern Munich will swap David Alaba for Leroy Sane
FC Bayern Muenchen Annual General Meeting Photo by TF-Images/Getty ImagesThe club Chairman called the speculation a “fairy tale” and confirmed there was no such deal with Manchester City.Just yesterday, The Sun came out with a stunning exclusive, claiming that Bayern Munich were ready to offer David Alaba plus £50m in cash to secure the services of Leroy Sane this summer. The Manchester City winger has been linked with a move to Germany for some time now, but The Sun’s report blew everything we’d heard so far out of the water. Now, if something smells fishy, it probably is. Today, Bayern Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge threw cold water on the speculation by categorically denying the existence of any such offer. He even called it a “fairy tale”:#FCBayern-Boss #Rummenigge: „Wie ich gehört habe, kursieren Gerüchte, dass wir David #Alaba gerne im Tausch gegen Leroy #Sané an #ManCity abgeben wollen würden. Dazu sage ich klar & deutlich: Das ist Grimms Märchen und hat nichts mit der Realität zu tun!“ #FCBTransfersommer— Manuel Bonke (@mano_bonke) March 27, 2020As I’ve heard, rumors are circulating that we would like to hand over David #Alaba to #ManCity in exchange for Leroy # Sané. Pep Guardiola covets David Alaba for Manchester City
Bayer 04 Leverkusen v FC Bayern Muenchen - DFB Cup Final Photo by Alexander Hassenstein/Getty ImagesNot even a global pandemic can stop silly season. The Court of Arbitration for Sport has given the green light. Now that the Court of Arbitration for Sport has overturned Manchester City’s two-year Champions League ban, one of the biggest players in the international transfer market just got a big green light to continue to flaunt Financial Fair Play rules put in place by FIFA. Per The Guardian, City will reportedly have £150 million to play with, and manager Pep Guardiola has added left-back and center-back to his list of demands.Enter David Alaba. Pep, the former Bayern boss, is all too familiar with Bayern’s versatile defenseman extraordinaire. Alaba is obviously more than capable at playing either of those positions at a very high level — some would say, the highest — and now is reportedly Pep’s top target.Alaba, who has previously expressed no such desire to play in Manchester, or even the Premier League, could potentially be swayed by the enormous wages that City can offer. Besides ruling that City can basically thumb their collective noses at FFP laws, the CAS also reduced City’s €30 million fine by about €20 million — roughly equivalent to a year’s wages for an elite player of Alaba’s caliber. As far as transfer rumors go, this smells like nothing more than someone connecting the dots of former manager with former player at a position of need. Alaba has expressed interest only in joining Real Madrid or FC Barcelona. Of course, this ruling in City’s favor could change things very quickly if Alaba no longer sees a future for himself in Munich.David #Alaba doesn‘t want to join #ManCity. Valencia could challenge PSV Eindhoven for Bayern Munich’s Adrian Fein

FC Nantes v Olympique Marseille - Ligue 1Photo by Jonathan Bartolozzi/Olympique de Marseille via Getty ImagesCould it be a one-and-done loan stint for Bayern Munich’s Michaël Cuisance with Olympique Marseille?Michaël Cuisance started his loan spell at Olympique Marseille in impressive fashion, but things seem to have cooled down a lot. Cuisance has not had the most productive season and lost one of his biggest internal supporters when Andre Villas-Boas resigned from his managerial duties. Now, it seems as if Cuisance would probably like to stay in France, but it does not look likely that Olympique Marseille will pull the trigger on its €18 million purchase option. This news will surely be a blow to many who were hoping to see Bayern Munich generate revenue through the sale of Cuisance and other loanees.Tz’s Manuel Bonke tweeted that Cuisance’s future with Marseille will be determined later this month, but it was largely dependent on what kinds of plans new manager Jorge Sampaoli has for Cuisance:Eine Entscheidung über eine mögliche Rückkehr von Michael #Cuisance von Marseille zum #FCBayern im Sommer fällt frühestens Ende März. The amazing part of the mini-transfer saga for Nagelsmann was just how quickly business was done between Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig:Mit den erfolgreich abgeschlossenen Verhandlungen zwischen dem #FCBayern und #RBLeipzig schrumpft auch die Ablösesumme für Julian #Nagelsmann: Der #FCB überweist #RB knapp 15 Mio. als Sockelbetrag. Auch mit Prämien wird der Betrag nicht die 20 Mio-Hürde reißen. #FCBTransfersommer— Manuel Bonke (@mano_bonke) April 27, 2021With the successfully concluded negotiations between #FCBayern and #RBLeipzig, the transfer fee for Julian also shrinks #Nagelsmann: #FCB sends #RB just under 15 million as a base amount. Even with bonuses, the amount will not break the 20 million hurdle.#FCBTransfersommerSport Bild, however, stated that Bayern Munich sent RB Leipzig a “two-digit million” initial fee, but said the bonus range could push the total fee up to €25 million.Bayern are transferring a two-digit million amount to Leipzig, which including bonuses can rise to up to 25 million euros.Prior to these reports, the rumored fees for Nagelsmann had ranged from €15 million to €30 million, but it appears that the Bavarians were able to get a deal done that they were comfortable with —whatever that number might eventually rise to.

FC Bayern Muenchen v Tigres UANL - FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2020Photo by M. Donato/Getty Images for FC BayernThe Frenchman wants to give Bayern Munich another chance.Bayern Munich right-back Bouna Sarr has been linked with a move away from the Bavarian club, but it appears that the 29-year-old wants to stay and try to earn his place under Julian Nagelsmann. There has been rampant speculation that Sarr would seek to move on given his lack of field time over the course of this season, but it looks as if Sarr will attempt prove his mettle next season in Germany per Tz’s Philipp Kessler:An den Gerüchten aus Frankreich über eine mögliche Rückkehr von Bouna #Sarr zu #OlympiqueMarseille ist nichts dran. Der Franzose möchte um seinen Platz beim #FCBayern kämpfen und hofft auf einen Neuanfang unter #Nagelsmann. #FCBTransfersommer @mano_bonke— Philipp Kessler (@kessler_philipp) May 4, 2021There is nothing to the rumors from France about a possible return of Bouna #Sarr to #OlympiqueMarseille. The Frenchman wants to fight for his place at #FCBayern and hopes for a fresh start under #Nagelsmann .#FCBTransfersommer @mano_bonkeThe surprising part of the story is that Sarr allegedly has the chance to go back to Olympique Marseille, but will spurn that offer — at least for now.A key aspect of Sarr’s situation is what formation Nagelsmann will opt to run. Should Nagelsmann’s set-up include wing-backs, Sarr’s value could potentially be enhanced — if he can find his form. That is a big “if”, however, as Sarr was not impressive during his time on the field this season with Bayern Munich.

Germany Seefeld Training Camp Day 4Photo by Roland Krivec/DeFodi Images via Getty ImagesPer Neuhaus, there is no deal with Bayern Munich on the table.Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder and Germany international Florian Neuhaus is denying reports that he has a pre-arranged deal with Bayern Munich to make a move after next season. On Saturday, Bild issued a report referencing rumors that that Neuhaus had already reached an agreement to join the Bavarians next summer. The 24-year-old, however, sternly denied that accusation and insisted that he was solely focused on his club career with Die Fohlen.Tz reporter Manuel Bonke fired off a tweet after capturing a quote from Neuhaus earlier today:Florian #Neuhaus dementiert in der @tzmuenchen, dass sein Wechsel zum #FCBayern im Sommer 2022 beschlossene Sache sei: „Ich habe nirgends einen Vertrag unterschrieben außer bei #BorussiaMönchengladbach. Dort fühle ich mich aktuell sehr wohl.“ @kessler_philipp #FCBTransfersommer— Manuel Bonke (@mano_bonke) June 1, 2021Florian #Neuhaus denied in the @tzmuenchen that his move to #FCBayern In the summer of 2022 it was decided: “I have not signed a contract anywhere except with #BorussiaMönchengladbach. I feel very much at home there at the moment.” @kessler_philipp #FCBTransfersommerBecause Bayern Munich is operating under a very conservative approach this offseason, there is little-to-no thought that a move is possible this summer for Neuhaus to Bayern Munich.Next summer, however, many have speculated that Neuhaus could be open to a transfer and might be considered affordable with a rumored €40 million exit clause in his current deal. A real skeptic would also point out that Neuhaus included the caveat of “at the moment” with his statement, but that is just further speculation for another day.For now, Neuhaus seems set for another season of challenging Bayern Munich, not joining them.Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked to Neuhaus in the past.

Bremer SV v FC Bayern Muenchen - DFB Cup - First RoundPhoto by Mario Hommes/DeFodi Images via Getty ImagesAccording to Tz journalist Philipp Kessler, there were three clubs pursuing Bayern Munich deep reserve Bouna Sarr during the summer transfer window.Per Kessler, Besiktas, Lille, and Olympiacos FC were all interested in bringing in Sarr, but the Frenchman wanted to stay with Bayern Munich to “fight” for his spot. Previous reports indicated that Sarr did not want to take a pay cut, which led to him staying in Bavaria:#Sarr hatte Anfragen von @Besiktas, @losclive und @olympiacosfc. Der Rechtsverteidiger machte aber schnell deutlich, dass er den #FCBayern nicht verlassen möchte. Er will weiterhin um seinen Platz in München kämpfen. #FCBTransfersommer @mano_bonke— Philipp Kessler (@kessler_philipp) September 1, 2021#Sarr had inquiries from @Besiktas, @losclive and @olympiacosfc. The right-back quickly made it clear that he was the #FCBayern don’t want to leave. He wants to keep fighting for his place in Munich.#FCBTransfersommer @mano_bonkeHow much fighting Sarr does remains to be seen. The 29-year-old is likely the fifth-choice selection at right-back these days behind Benjamin Pavard, Josip Stanisic, Niklas Süle, and Joshua Kimmich.Besiktas, Lille, and Olympiacos could have all offered Sarr more playing time, but it is likely that none of them were willing to take on Sarr’s full salary.
