Valencia could challenge PSV Eindhoven for Bayern Munich’s Adrian Fein
Bayern Muenchen II v Tuerkguecue Muenchen - 3. Liga Photo by Roland Krivec/DeFodi Images via Getty ImagesThe arrival of Marc Roca at Bayern Munich effectively sealed off any hope that Adrian Fein would be able to break into the first team this season in Bavaria.Fein, who has reportedly failed to impress Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick, will no longer be needed with another more accomplished defensive midfielder in house. While PSV Eindhoven is linked strongly to the skilled 21-year-old, Valencia has made a late charge in hopes of a move per Tz reporter Manuel Bonke:Neben PSV #Eindhoven ist auch der spanische Erstligist FC #Valencia an einem Transfer von #FCBayern-Youngster Adrian #Fein interessiert. Durch die Verpflichtung von Marco #Roca wird es für Fein schwer, Einsätze bei den Profis zu erhalten. #FCBTransfersommer— Manuel Bonke (@mano_bonke) October 5, 2020In addition to PSV #Eindhoven the Spanish first division club FC #Valencia is also interested in a transfer of #FCBayern Youngster Adrian #Fein. With Marco #Roca ’s commitment, it will be difficult for Fein to get work with the professionals. #FCBTransfersummerIt is rumored that any move for Fein will be a loan assignment.BFW AnalysisFor Fein, any a change of scenery would be good at this stage given that he is now buried on the Bayern Munich depth chart. Fein was previously linked to both Hertha Berlin and Arminia Bielefeld, but the field seems narrowed to PSV Eindhoven and latecomer Valencia.Surely, this is disappointing for Fein, who many had high hopes for this season. While not considered a contender to push incumbents Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, and Thomas Muller, many Bayern Munich fans and pundits though Fein would prove to be a valuable depth piece, who could provide defensive stability in the midfield when called upon. That assessment may eventually prove to be true this season, but it likely will not be with Bayern Munich.Read more...

Liga Photo by Mario Hommes/DeFodi Images via Getty ImagesLeon Dajaku had a busy day offensively in Austria.Bayern Munich II played a 120-minute friendly and picked up a 3-2 victory with Fiete Arp being one of the stars of the contest per FCBayern.com.First, Arp picked up an assist on a goal by Leon Dajaku in the 10th minute. Just 21 minutes later, Tiago Dantas found Dajaku with a terrific pass, which the 19-year-old forward sent over to Arp for a 2-0 Bayern Munich II lead at the 31-minute mark. After FC Liefering fought back to tie the game at 2-2 in the 105th minute, Christopher Scott, who typically played for Bayern Munich’s U-19 squad, delivered the game-winner in the 112th minute. Per Bayern Munich’s website, Scott “dribbled a good 20 meters through the opposing defense and scored with a wonderful shot.”Interestingly, Marc Roca started and played 60 minutes for Bayern Munich II as well today, which was a very curious move. Regardless, Bayern Munich II’s next 3.Liga game will be next Sunday at 1PM (local time) against VfB Lübeck.Testspiel-Sieg für die #FCBAmateure!#Roca von Anfang an, #Dajaku und #Arp treffen, Traumtor von #Scott Alle Infos im Spielbericht!

After finishing level on 2-2 after 90 minutes and extra time, Holstein Kiel won 6-5 on penalties, and it was Marc Roca’s missed that sealed the deal for Die Störche. Roca had come on in the 92nd minute to replace Serge Gnabry, so he did get to play both periods of extra time, but failed to make a meaningful impact.Speaking after the heart-breaking loss, Hansi Flick offered his support for Roca, recognizing how bad he must’ve felt after failing to convert his spot kick: “I don’t think anyone will blame him. Penalty shootouts are decided through missed penalties. We stand together and we’ll support him, there’s really no reproach against him.”#Flick über Pechvogel #Roca: "Ich glaube, ihm macht keiner einen Vorwurf. Aside from his missed penalty, Roca really did do anything inherently wrong and boasted a pass completion rate of 84%, had one shot on target, and a cross that led to a chance, only lost possession 7 times (which was low for Bayer players in this match), had 4 touches in Holstein’s box, completed 14 passes in the final third, and also had 5 ball recoveries. By all means, he had a statistically stable presence for only playing roughly 30 minutes, it’s just that the circumstances called for something a bit more than statistically stable.Holstein Kiel v Bayern Muenchen - DFB Cup: Second Round Photo by Stuart Franklin/Getty ImagesRoca has struggled to break into the team despite showing well for himself in Bayern’s first round DFB-Pokal win over FC Düren as well his 66 minutes in the 3-1 Champions League win over RB Salzburg before getting a red card by virtue of a second yellow. You could just see how frustrated he was to be sent off in that match because he knew how big of an opportunity it was for him and he had been playing so well that match, but had just mae two unfortunate mistakes. He also started and played the full 9 minute in the final group stage match win over Lokomotiv Moscow, albeit the match meant (advancement implications) nothing since Bayern had already won the group. Mellar/FC Bayern via Getty ImagesRoca wants to have a full preseason under his belt with the new manager and he’s been putting the time in at the gym.Per Tz’s Philipp Kessler, Marc Roca has made the decision to forego the Tokyo Olympics this summer with Spain so that he can stay in Munich and get a full preseason under his belt with new manager Julian Nagelsmann. While the Euros start this Friday and run through July 11th, the soccer fixtures in the Olympics run from July 21st to August 7th, so had Roca made the decision to play for Spain in the tournament, he’d be missing the heart of Bayern Munich’s preseason. Of course, last season he didn’t have a preseason because of the stretched nature of the transfer window running through the fall as a result of fixture scheduling changes because of the coronavirus pandemic. Germany Portraits - UEFA Euro 2020Photo by Boris Streubel - UEFA/UEFA via Getty ImagesCould Bayern Munich still make a move for a midfielder?According to SPOX journalist Kerry Hau, Bayern Munich still has interest in both Borussia Mönchengladbach star Florian Neuhaus and Stade Rennais up-and-comer Eduardo Camavinga. The problem for the Bavarians, however, is that they just do not have the financial capacity to play what it would take to pry either Neuhaus or Camavinga from their current clubs.- MF: Es besteht nach wie vor Interesse an #Camavinga und #Neuhaus, aber auch hier fehlt die finanzielle Bereitschaft in diesem Sommer. Man hofft auf den Durchbruch von #Roca unter Nagelsmann. Und: Die Verlängerung von #Goretzka hat aktuell ohnehin Priorität.— Kerry Hau (@kerry_hau) July 1, 2021MF: There is still interest in #Camavinga and #Neuhaus , but here too there is a lack of financial willingness this summer. One hopes for the breakthrough of #Roca under Nagelsmann. And: the extension of #Goretzka currently has priority anyway. What is unclear in Hau’s reporting is if a contract extension for Leon Goretzka or an emergence by Marc Roca would deter the Bavarians from making a run at Neuhaus or Camavinga next summer when the club should have more room in the budget. With Corentin Tolisso also not a lock to be on the roster this season, Bayern Munich could be looking for some young players on campus — or some cheap options on the transfer market — to bolster the midfield group if the opportunity presents itself.

FC Barcelona v Bayern München: Group E - UEFA Champions LeaguePhoto by Pedro Salado/Quality Sport Images/Getty ImagesIt will not be easy for Marc Roca or Michael Cuisance to break into the Bayern Munich lineup. Many fans have been left wondering when Marc Roca was going to get a chance to prove himself or if Michael Cuisance was going to have the opportunity to showcase himself to a potential suitor.Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann indicated that the duo is good — and he means it.
