A storm forced the squad to practice at the hotel, but the team did make it outdoors for the second session.Abendzeitung’s Maximilian Koch captured all the comings-and-goings of that news in a tweet, which also stated that Dayot Upamecano’s injury was nothing serious: Heftiger Sturm heute Vormittag in Faro und Umgebung. Die Bayern trainieren am Vormittag im Hotel, am Nachmittag dann draußen auf dem Platz. #Upamecano soll wieder dabei sein. #FCBayern @Abendzeitung— Maximilian Koch (@_kochmaximilian) January 17, 2024Heavy storm in Faro and surrounding areas this morning. As Bayern Munich continues to shake off the cobwebs from Tuesday’s Champions League slobberknocker with Real Madrid, the training grounds at Säbener Straße were a bit “quiet” on Wednesday per Abendzeitung journalist Victor Catalina: ℹ️ All quiet at Säbener Straße today. Yesterday‘s substitutes, amongst them Sven Ulreich, Daniel Peretz, Bryan Zaragoza, Aleks Pavlovic, Dayot Upamecano, Lovro Zvonarek or Alphonso Davies trained behind the curtains. The starting XI players worked inside. #FCBRMA #FCBayern #UCLDe Ligt likely received treatmentWhile there was a mixed bag of where players trained today, Matthijs de Ligt was also there, but did not engage in any training. Bild journalist Michel Schröer said that the Dutchman was probably there to have his injury treated: Pretty quiet on Säbener Straße. The reservists are training in secret. Matthijs de Ligt is also there, but did not come onto the pitch. He is probably only there for treatment. #FCBayernDe Ligt’s health is at the forefront of nearly every Bayern Munich fan’s concern. There is already speculation that he could be available next week against Real Madrid, so the club — and its supporters — will likely be keeping their fingers crossed.
