Müller-Wohlfahrt blames Pep Guardiola for Bayern Munich departure in 2015
MediaThe longtime team doctor expounds on the riftWhen Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt resigned in April 2015, the Bayern Munich community was shocked. Müller-Wohlfahrt had been at Bayern for 38 years and is still the team doctor for Die Mannschaft.Upon his departure from the club it had been rumored that a rift had occurred between the doctor and former head coach, Pep Guardiola. That rumor appears to be true.#MüllerWohlfahrt kritisiert Pep #Guardiola hart #FCBayern https://t.co/SAWWLDXwqL http://pic.twitter.com/clNLfrykgp— SPORT BILD (@SPORTBILD) August 11, 2017Saturday happened to be Müller-Wohlfahrt’s 75th birthday and he celebrated with several interviews explaining why he resigned.Müller-Wohlfahrt told Bayerischer Rundfunk:“I wasn't used to how Pep Guardiola treated me, it had never happened before - not one single time. When you have the feeling that you don't have any bond with the coach, who rejects everything and doesn't show any interest in medical work, who just criticizes and says everything is better in Spain, then it stops being fun.”He also told Sport Bild:“I quit following differences of opinion with Pep Guardiola, who blamed me for defeats and overstepped his area of expertise. As a doctor, I carry the responsibility for a player's health and not the coach.”Ouch.Even though Müller-Wohlfahrt clearly holds some type of grudge over the circumstances of his resignation he still admits to a possibility of a reunion of some type. Bayern president Uli Hoeness confirmed as much in an interview on Sky Sport stating, “We've had talks about getting him more involved again -- but not in the old way.”Müller-Wohlfahrt continues to treat several Bayern players such as Arjen Robben, Manuel Neuer, and Jerome Boateng.Read more...

Report: Pep Guardiola visits Bayern Munich at Säbener Strasse
MediaIf the Manchester City boss was, indeed, meeting with Bayern...why?This could mean nothing or EVERYTHING (likely nothing), but Sky’s Torben Hoffmann is reporting that Manchester City boss and former Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardolia visited Die Roten today.Guardiola, who has maintained a solid relationship with the likes of Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Uli Hoeneß, was allegedly seen at the Bayern offices, but no other details were reported. Guardiola is still a trusted figure within the Bayern organization and was consulted last season when Bayern ultimately decided to bring in Jupp Heynckes after sacking Carlo Ancelotti. As you can see below, the picture offers no definitive proof that it was actually Guardiola and sort of rivals images of Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, or maybe even D.B. Cooper at this point, but let’s have some fun with it anyway.Exklusiv!!!

The situation surrounding Benjamin Pavard’s imminent departure from Bayern Munich is really heating up, as the French defender might be getting a little antsy about where he will be playing next season. There could be as many as three major contenders for Pavard per Sport1 journalist Kerry Hau. Manchester City, Manchester United, and Juventus are reportedly in the mix for Pavard — but not FC Barcelona, who was previously thought to be a contender: Benjamin Pavard hat nun drei ernsthafte Optionen: Manchester City, Manchester United und Juventus Turin. So könnte auch der Deal mit Walker klappen und verrechnet werden.— Tobi Altschäffl (@altobelli13) July 14, 2023A move to Manchester City is a serious option for Benjamin Pavard. FC Bayern bosses, expecting an offer soon.So what happens from here?Well, if the news is true that Kyle Walker has agreed to personal terms with Bayern Munich, we could see what is effetively a swap scenario should City be the club that can snare Pavard away from the Bavarians. How does that work for you Bayern Munich fans? Is this the precursor to a back-three where Walker plays as a right center-back? Moreover, will Noussair Mazraoui pitch a fit and ask to leave if Walker is signed…

FBL-EURO-2024-QUALIFIER-GIB-FRA It is quite the battle between PL clubs for who gets Pavard. | Photo by FRANCK FIFE/AFP via Getty Images The Frenchman’s definitely leaving, but where to? Preferably the club that gives us the most amount of money! This transfer window pre-season has been an interesting series of events for Bayern Munich. Lucas Hernandez and Daley Blind both left the club, the former to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and the latter to Serie A club Girona. The future of several other players — among them Benjamin Pavard — remains uncertain.Pavard has had one foot out the door and the other foot inside for years. The sheer number of transfer rumours surrounding the Frenchman on a regular basis is astounding. Per Florian Pletternberg, Bayern is waiting for an actual offer to materialize for Pavard, who has the likes of Manchester City, Juventus and Manchester United courting him. Pep Guardiola is known to be interested in purchasing Pavard and City have already spoken to the defender’s management. However, there seem to be no agreements in place as yet. ℹ️ #Pavard: FC Bayern, waiting for concrete offers now!

Talks between the players management and ManCity took place as #Guardiola is very interested in Pavard. But there are no agreements yet.

➡️ At this stage, it’s a race between #MCFC, ManUtd and Juventus. @SkySportDE pic.twitter.com/NJq8y6Dwjq— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) July 15, 2023While it looks certain that Benji is definitely done with the club, what remains yet to be seen is the fee that Bayern could make out of selling him. Though previous reports state that the club wants at least 30 million euros, surely, they wouldn't mind a bidding war that results in a lot more than that...
