FC Bayern München v VfL Wolfsburg - Bundesliga Photo by Stefan Matzke - sampics/Corbis via Getty Images The No. 2 goalkeeper position will be in contention. Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz needs playing time for 2024/25, so it was not a surprise to see Sport Bild journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl (via @iMiaSanMia), report that VfL Bochum might be a potential destination for the 23-year-old: Bochum is a loan option for Daniel Peretz this summer. However, kicker’s Frank Linkesch (as captured by Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg) is reporting that Vincent Kompany wants Peretz to stay and compete or the No. 2 position with SVen Ulreich: Daniel #Peretz will stay at FC Bayern after Vincent #Kompany has made clear that he wants him to stay. It’s decided now! Peretz will now compete with Sven Ulreich for the number two spot.No more plans about a loan move for the 23 y/o as also via @FrankLinkeschBild (via @iMiaSanMia) captured an encompassing view of the situation: Vincent Kompany has studied videos of Daniel Peretz for a week and then made it clear to the club’s bosses that he wants to keep him. The age and injury record of Neuer and Ulreich also played a role in the decision. Kompany wants to go into next season with 3 senior goalkeepers and avoid having to sign a new keeper in the event of an injury. Bochum were very interested in a loan deal for Peretz to replace Manuel Riemann.BFW AnalysisPeretz is in a weird position. He needs playing time — and seemingly has options — but Bayern Munich is going to have him stay and compete for a role that might not be utilized all that much with the presence of Manuel Neuer still in Bavaria. Should Peretz be sent on loan or does Kompany have the right feel for how to best handle this? Or...will Peretz be loaned out at a later date if he cannot win the No. 2 spot form Ulreich.

RB Salzburg v FC Bayern München - Friendly Match Photo by F. Noever/FC Bayern via Getty Images Daniel Peretz has reportedly firmed up his position as top backup to Manuel Neuer. Bayern Munich is witnessing a changing of the guard at goalkeeper — no, not at Manuel Neuer’s grasp of the No. 1 position. But long-time deputy Sven Ulreich has seemingly given way to Daniel Peretz, who has filled in well in Neuer’s absences. With Ulreich out for personal reasons at the time Neuer had to miss games — a red card and an accompanying injury resulting from a challenge in Bayern’s DFB-Pokal defeat to Bayer Leverkusen — Peretz was called into action. The Israeli international had already impressed on the international stage, and followed that up with solid performances for Bayern, too.Az journalist Kilian Kreitmair described the situation going forward: Excl.: The #FCBayern will go into the second half of the season with Daniel #Peretz as number 2. Sven Ulreich will be number 3. Peretz will be loaned out in the summer to gain match practice. A new young keeper will replace him. #Urbig and #Verbruggen are options. If this is how it pans out, Peretz, 24, will get his shot at a full-time No. 1 gig elsewhere to prove his mettle — embarking on the path that a previous Neuer successor candidate, Alexander Nübel, has charted out in recent years at AS Monaco and VfB Stuttgart. That would leave the No. 2 spot open once more. And the two names mentioned here — FC Köln’s Jonas Urbig (21) and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Bart Verbruggen (22) — are big prospects who might just displace Peretz himself when it comes time for Neuer to finally hang up his boots.Looking for thoughts and analysis of Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga showdown with Borussia Mönchengladbach? 1. FC Köln v 1. FC Nürnberg - Second Bundesliga Photo by Pau Barrena/Getty Images Is Jonas Urbig the “Next One”? According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich has identified its pick to potentially succeed Manuel Neuer — FC Köln goalkeeper Jonas Urbig: Jonas #Urbig is currently Bayern’s top candidate for next summer to become the backup goalkeeper behind Manuel #Neuer, who is set to extend his contract until 2026 in the coming days. The basic requirement for the transfer of Urbig is that Daniel #Peretz will be loaned out in the summer to gain regular playing time at a high level. A loan for Peretz is under consideration. There is no agreement or ongoing negotiations regarding Urbig yet, but the 21 y/o top talent from 1. FC Köln is currently at the top of the list. #effzeh It seems that Bayern Munich is seeking to bring in Urbig, have him get some spot time behind Neuer in 2025/26, and use that framework to decide whether he will be ready to step in for Neuer in 2026/27.Needless to say, the focus could be shifting toward Urbig and away from Daniel Peretz (expected to be sent on loan during the summer) and Alexander Nübel (expected to stay at VfB Stuttgart for next season).Let the games begin...Looking for more thoughts and analysis of Bayern Munich’s 6-0 victory over Red Bull Salzburg? FC Bayern München v RB Leipzig - Bundesliga Photo by Daniel Kopatsch/Getty Images Would this be a good move for the Bayern Munich goalkeeper? According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, RC Lens is eager to make a deal that would bring Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz to the French club this month: EXCL | RC Lens want to sign Daniel #Peretz before Deadline Day!The French club have submitted an official offer to Bayern. However, Peretz currently prefers to stay. He is expected to be match fit again in 4-6 weeks following a kidney injury.Meanwhile, Bayern remain keen on signing Jonas #Urbig from Köln immediately, as revealed earlier this week. Negotiations are ongoing.Peretz had an opportunity to prove his mettle at the end of the first half of the season, but while he was solid, he did not do enough to win over the Bayern Munich brass and prove that he should be the person to succeed Manuel Neuer. With a terrific physical profile and good skill, Peretz needs more game experience — something that he might find tough to get at Bayern Munich. RC Lens is very interested i Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz, but the young Israeli does not want to leave the club. Interestingly, Bayern Munich would be willing to accept a loan deal from Lens, but Peretz has “no intention” of moving on: At this stage, Daniel #Peretz still has no intention of moving to RC Lens before Deadline Day!Although FC Bayern are willing to accept the official offer from France, Lens have proposed a loan deal, as revealed yesterday. Despite his current injury, Lens want to make Peretz their number one goalkeeper.Since Peretz is blocking the transfer, Lens are exploring other alternatives, one of whom is Mathew #Ryan, as reported by L’Équipe.Barring injury, Peretz has little chance for playing time in the next two seasons.
