According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Kerry Hau (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), the injury situation surrounding Bayern Munich stars Leroy Sané and Jamal Musiala with the German national team is not as dire as some might fear. Similarly, Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann will take a conservative approach with Aleksandar Pavlović and David Raum as well: Leroy Sané and Jamal Musiala had a thorough check-up in the days before traveling to the national team camp in Blankenhain. The results showed that everything was fine. There’s no reason to worry about their fitness ahead of the Euros opener against Scotland. However, Julian Nagelsmann doesn’t want to take any risks with both players and for now, will take it easy in training - just like Aleks Pavlović and David Raum. Sané is ineligible for next week’s friendly against Ukraine as he will serve his third game of suspension. Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg added more context on Sané: Leroy #Sané will train at a moderate pace this week. He aims to be 100% fit by the start of the Euros and has been training specifically for this.

It is not expected that there will be a decision about a new Bayern contract beyond 2025 before the Euros.@SkySportDE pic.twitter.com/OZyVK1f2c7— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) May 28, 2024Neuer returns! After a bout with an illness, Bayern Munich star Manuel Neuer joined Germany’s camp: ℹ️ @Manuel_Neuer ist heute Abend zur Mannschaft gestoßen. Spain v Germany: Quarter-Final - UEFA EURO 2024 Photo by Alex Livesey/Getty Images Is a new deal incoming? According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Leroy Sané is inclined to sign a contract extension to stay at Bayern Munich, but that is not stopping Arsenal FC from keeping close tabs on the Germany international: The tendency is that Leroy #Sané will not leave FC Bayern in the summer! Sané is fully focused on Bayern and on a possible contract extension beyond 2025. But an extension is not in the final stages yet. ⚠️ Therefore, Arsenal is closely monitoring Sané’s situation. He’s on their list. Arteta and Sané have a great relationship! @kerry_hau | @SkySportDEThis is not the first time that Sané has been linked to a contract extension, nor is it the first time we have heard that Arsenal is watching Sané from afar. It still feels like Sané is destined to ink a new deal in Bavaria and take yet another run at putting together a complete season. If he can do that, Bayern Munich fans will surely back the club’s move.

Spain v Germany: Quarter-Final - UEFA EURO 2024 Photo by Masashi Hara/Getty Images Things are about to get hot and heavy for Bayern Munich... Bayern Munich is keeping its strategies very close to the vest these days. Bild journalist Michel Schröer noted that the team is doing a lot of things in hiding these days (Editor’s Note: In Hiding is also a somewhat forgotten, but very solid Pearl Jam song). Head coach Vincent Kompany is not letting many eyes get a look at how the team is preparing for its upcoming slate:Schade für viele Fans an der Säbener Straße: In den letzten Wochen wärmte sich die Mannschaft die ersten 15 Minuten meist vor den blickdichten Vorhängen auf. Vor dem Pokal-Start lässt Kompany aber die gesamte Einheit geheim trainieren. #FCBayern pic.twitter.com/Bwko3NDxFN— Michel Schröer (@MichelSchroeer) August 15, 2024It’s a shame for many fans at Säbener Straße: In recent weeks, the team has mostly warmed up for the first 15 minutes in front of opaque curtains. Before the start of the cup, however, Kompany has the entire unit train in secret. #FCBayernSané’s timeline for return in questionLeroy Sané is still working out individually. Now, speculation is building that the attacker will miss the start of the Bundesliga season next week: Weiter kein Team-Training für Leroy #Sané. Er trainiert nach seiner Leisten-OP noch individuell. Den Saisonstart wird Sané ziemlich sicher verpassen. #FCBayern pic.twitter.com/XQi2IxnXc5— Michel Schröer (@MichelSchroeer) August 15, 2024Still no team training for Leroy #Sané. He is still training individually after his groin operation. Sané will almost certainly miss the start of the season. #FCBayernSports director Max Eberl recently explained in South Korea: “Leroy will continue to do his rehab for some time. He should now be 100 percent fit after this pubic bone injury, which he really carried through the last season and the European Championship, and the operation afterwards.” #FCBayernBayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany addressed Sané’s situation in his press conference.“I hope (Sané) joins us very soon. We’ll need every player and, above all, every player fit. It’s important that we find a good balance. We’ll have around 30 games in the next three and a half months, so it’s also important that we bring the players back slowly and not rush them,” said Kompany (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).Boey didn’t train with team eitherSacha Boey missed team training again, which makes it unlikely that he will play against SSV Ulm in the DFB-Pokal:Nächste individuelle Einheit für Sacha #Boey. #FCBayern pic.twitter.com/mbQeavmWQf— Michel Schröer (@MichelSchroeer) August 15, 2024Next individual session for Sacha #Boey . #FCBayernSacha Boey not training with the rest of the team today - set to miss tomorrow's Pokal game [ @MichelSchroeer] pic.twitter.com/seBL2rGCXM— Bayern & Germany (@iMiaSanMia) August 15, 2024Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Bayern Munich’s DFB-Pokal tilt vs. SSV Ulm? FC Bayern München v 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 - Bundesliga Photo by Alexander Hassenstein/Getty Images Leroy Sané could be playing his final months in Bavaria... Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané might be on shaky ground, per Sky Sport journalist Kerry Hau (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). While the Germany international is willing to take a pay cut to stay in Bavaria in an attempt to win more trophies, the club executives have not seen enough from Sané to warrant another long-term deal...yet: Bayern bosses expect a lot more from Leroy Sané in order to get a new contract. The player would like to stay and is ready to take a pay cut as he feels very comfortable in the team and wants to win the Champions League with Bayern. Should he end up leaving, Sané wants to continue playing at the top level and is not interested in a move to Saudi Arabia. Several clubs abroad are interested.Hau’s colleague Florian Plettenberg provided additional context: A free transfer of Leroy #Sané in the summer can no longer be ruled out! Some decision-makers at FC Bayern would not oppose a sale in the winter, although this is currently not a topic for Sané. Max Eberl is holding talks about an extension with a performance-based contract, but no concrete plans have been presented yet. The player does not have a written offer on the table. His priority is to stay at FC Bayern beyond 2025, and he would also be willing to accept a pay cut for that. But Sané has also noticed that the club’s bosses hardly, if at all, mention him publicly when discussing a new contract. What ultimately happens with Sané remains to be seen, but the competition at the wing position is extremely heated. From game to game, Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany has difficult choices to make with lineup selections. If Sané wants to have a chance to stay in Bavaria, he is going to need to perform well enough to lock down a starting spot very soon. The latest Bavarian Podcast Works Show has dropped! Let’s talk about the news breaking from the AGM, Bayern Munich’s complex injury situation, and why the club probably doesn’t just want Florian Wirtz, but needs him. 1. FSV Mainz 05 v FC Bayern München - Bundesliga Photo by Alexander Hassenstein/Getty Images Bayern Munich could be unloading a significant salary this summer... There is still time for Leroy Sané to change the perception of his tenure with Bayern Munich, but many fans would see it as unfulfilling after the substantial amount of hype that predated his arrival. Now, there could be an end in sight for his time in Bavaria. Per kicker journalist Georg Holzner, the chances are “slim” for a contract extension between Bayern Munich and the Germany international: According to @kicker information, the current trend for Leroy #Sané is: His contract will not be renewed. He would need an extreme improvement in performance, according to #fcbayern , in order to increase his - currently slim - chances of getting a new contract. Sané did score a goal against Mainz 05 during a 2-1 loss on Saturday, but has had middling performances this season overall. At a time where it seems to be clear that at least some players need to move on within the attacking group, Sané could become a prime candidate for the club to let walk away after this season. Bayern Munich v Galatasaray - UEFA Champions League Photo by Halil Sagirkaya/Anadolu via Getty Images Sané seems to want to stay at Bayern, but would the club be willing to listen to certain offers for him? Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund and board member for sport Max Eberl have already made of point of saying the club’s focus during the winter transfer window will be on negotiating new contracts for key players in the squad. Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich, and Alphonso Davies are all in the midst of negotiations for new deals with contracts currently set to expire this summer. However, there will certainly be some planning for the summer window to come after the conclusion of this season, and that is keeping the rumor mill churning at a decent pace. Winger Leroy Sané has a contract with the club that is also set to expire in June of this year, but his situation is a bit different than that of Musiala’s, Kimmich’s, or Davies’. With Sané, the club is less apt to give him a big offer, but the winger has signaled that he would be willing to take a pay cut to stay with the Rekordmeister.Sané currently earns roughly 17 million euros per year, but per information from Turkish outlet Fotomaç (via @iMiaSanMia), Galatasaray has expressed interest in trying to sign the former Manchester City and Schalke 04 winger from Bayern. They have reportedly contacted the player’s agents and have requested to setup a meeting regarding a summer move, though there would likely be a lot of competition from other European clubs if Bayern does decide to let him go this summer. Sané is represented by 11Wins, the same agency that represents teammate and compatriot Jamal Musiala. Borussia Dortmund v FC Bayern München - Bundesliga Photo by Stuart Franklin/Getty Images There is still plenty of time for Bayern to decide whether or not they would consider offloading Sané this summer or not. He is far from Vincent Kompany’s first name on any given team sheet, but he has tallied five goals and an assist from his 19 appearances across all competitions this season. In fairness, he also missed some of the beginning phases of this season after he had an operation after the Euros with Germany to repair a pubic bone injury that affected his end to last season under Thomas Tuchel. Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg added more context to the rumor as well: Yes, Galatasaray Istanbul are interested in signing Leroy #Sané on a free transfer in summer. However, there is no chance of a move to #Galatasaray at that time. Sané remains fully focused on Bayern and is determined to secure a new contract with the club beyond the end of the season. The Bayern bosses, however, are still hesitant. There is still plenty of time for Sané to prove his worth to Bayern, especially considering the fact that he seems open to accepting a wage cut to stay with the club. Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg issued a news report stating that Bayern Munich and Leroy Sané have engaged in “positive talks” regarding a contract extension and also that the chances of an agreement are “higher” than they were just a few weeks ago: There have recently been new and open, positive talks between FC Bayern and Leroy #Sané regarding a possible contract extension beyond 2025. 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 v FC Bayern München - Bundesliga Photo by Harry Langer/DeFodi Images/DeFodi via Getty Images Here...we...go? According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich will re-open contract talks with Leroy Sané on Tuesday: Starting tomorrow, after Easter, FC Bayern are set to resume talks with Leroy #Sané’s representatives to clarify further details regarding a contract extension.Max Eberl is determined to keep the winger and is offering a deal running until 2028.The total package is expected to be around €14–16 million gross.Hmmm. That verbiage leaves open some questioning. Is Plettenberg implying that a three-year extension would only cost €14–€16 million (which seems very low) or is he saying that the winger’s total package each season would be €14–€16 million (which seems high and would not represent much of a paycut)?Regardless, we might find out soon. Are Bayern Munich fans just exhausted and mentally worn down from the past few seasons? Maybe! The supporters might be losing some steam after a tumultuous period, so let’s talk about why so many are just zapped. We’ve also got some chatter on the transfer rumors surrounding Kim Min-jae and why Joshua Kimmich is shouldering so much of the blame after Bayern was eliminated from the Champions League by Inter Milan. FC Bayern München v Borussia Mönchengladbach - Bundesliga Photo by Stefan Matzke - sampics/Getty Images Here we go...again. There is a new development in the contract negotiations saga between Bayern Munich and winger Leroy Sané.While the Germany international is still willing to take a pay cut, he is reluctant to take as much of a reduction as Bayern Munich has offered. So, his representatives have submitted a counteroffer to the club: Excl | Leroy #Sané remains open to extending his contract and is still willing to accept a pay cut. His new agents have now submitted a counteroffer: €12 million fixed salary plus €3 million in add-ons, primarily tied to appearances.Previously, Max Eberl had proposed an extension with €8–9 million fixed plus bonuses (around €15 million all-in) and no signing fee. That offer is being described as not in line with his market value. Bayern are determined to stand firm and currently have no intention of improving their offer. This does not feel like a situation where Bayern Munich is going to budge, but stranger things have happened. FC Bayern München v Borussia Mönchengladbach - Bundesliga Photo by Alexander Hassenstein/Getty Images As the Bayern Munich world turns... Today is — allegedly — the day for Leroy Sané to make his decision on whether or not he will accept Bayern Munich’s offer per Tz’s Philipp Kessler and Mano Bonke (via @iMiaSanMia): The deadline that Bayern had set for Leroy Sané, whether to take the club’s current offer or to leave, expires today. Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg reiterated that Bayern Munich is not likely to change its offer and also mentioned that Arsenal FC is back in the race for the German international: FC Bayern are sticking to their offer for Leroy #Sané: around €10 million fixed plus €5.5 million in bonuses, as revealed — ideally with no signing fee and a contract running until 2028.Max Eberl wants clarity by or just after the weekend: “Leroy and his agency know what we want and they know the conditions. We hope he decides for us.”⚠️ Arsenal are back in the race. Other teams from England are also waiting for his decision. … with Bayern also counting on the fact that Sané has publicly stated that he wants to stay. When Eberl asked about the deadline during Friday’s press conference, he was very pragmatic. “Leroy and his agency know what we want and they know the conditions. We hope he decides for us,” said Eberl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).So…time is ticking. If Sané was looking to endear himself to the club, he might have had a misstep last night. At the press conference, both Kompany and Eberl were asked about the winger traveling to Monaco for a gala last night. The executive did not have any any knowledge of that:• Leroy Sané was seen at a gala [charity dinner organized by Thilo Kehrer] in Monaco last night. Was he allowed to travel or are things different two days before the game?

FC Bayern München v Borussia Mönchengladbach - Bundesliga Photo by Christina Pahnke - sampics/Getty Images It will not be enough... Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané has left his offer from the club on the table for more than a week now and has not exactly been beating away other clubs seeking to bring him in on a free transfer. Now, though, there is a club — Galatasaray — who wants the Germany international, but is not exactly going to blow him away with an offer: Excl | Galatasaray have submitted a top written offer to Leroy #Sané, including a net salary of over €10 million per year!Enquiries from the Premier League and Napoli have also been made. FC Bayern still hope to extend his contract, with new talks have taken place. A free transfer or an extension – both options still remain possible. To offer Sané what could be an overall lesser deal (a bonus structure is not defined in the report) than what Bayern Munich presented likely will not get the deal done for Galatasaray. Now, it will be interesting to see what Pini Zahavi can work up for his client. The news that Bayern Munich had coughed up the Florian Wirtz transfer was shocking. Even more stunning was that it was Liverpool FC, who ultimately won the Germany international’s heart. So...what next? Let’s rehash how it all went down, why it happened, and then talk about what might on tap next for the Bavarians, who have to start their transfer dealings all over again. FC Bayern Muenchen Teams Celebrate Winning The Leagues Photo by Stefan Matzke - sampics/Getty Images Will Tottenham steal away Leroy Sané from Bayern Munich? Adjustments could happen to Sané offer, but Spurs are showing interest (@Plettigoal)Bayern Munich star Leroy Sané has an offer on the table for a contract extension, but has not accepted it. To this point, Bayern Munich has been reluctant to alter anything about the proposal, but that could be on the verge of changing: FC Bayern are continuing talks with Pini Zahavi to find a solution in the contract negotiations for Leroy #Sané as reported in our show Transfer Update. The offer is not expected to be increased. At most, it’s about adjustments to the existing offer of around €10 million fixed and €5.5 million in bonuses. Bayern still open to extend. A top offer from Galatasaray is on the table, but a move to Istanbul remains unlikely. No one knows exactly what Sané is thinking, but the Galatasaray option seems unlikely. That said, Zahavi is set to meet with Bayern Munich this week and the Bavarians could, indeed, change the distribution of the salary/bonus structure per Sport Bild’s Tobi Altschäffl (via @iMiaSanMia):Pini Zahavi will travel to Munich this week for renewed negotiations with Bayern over Leroy Sané. While Bayern are unwilling to increase the package offered to Sané, the people in charge, including Max Eberl, are willing to accommodate the player regarding the split of the payments. The club is considering increasing the fixed part from €10m to €12-13m and reducing the bonuses from €5m to €2-3m. It remains unclear whether that will be enough to reach an agreement. One roadblock to Bayern Munich retaining Sané is that Tottenham Hotspur is now showing interest in the Germany international per Altschäffl (via @iMiaSanMia): Tottenham is currently the English club showing the most concrete interest in Leroy Sané. After they qualified for next season’s Champions League, Spurs are an attractive destination for Sané - in addition to the fact his wife wants to live in London. Bayern want to know the player’s final decision before travelling to the Club World Cup on June 10.Sky Sports journalists Kaveh Solheko and Michael Bridge are also reporting that Spurs want Sané:Tottenham have been offered the opportunity to sign Leroy Sané. Spurs have become a more attractive proposition after qualifying for the Champions League by winning the Europa League.Kane, Musiala names to Team of the Season (@WhoScored)Bayern Munich stars Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala were named to WhoScored.com’s Europe’s Top 5 Leagues Team of the Season: European Team of the Season pic.twitter.com/X3T2Ys89FQ— WhoScored (@WhoScored) May 27, 2025Bavarian Podcast Works — Flagship Show: Season 7, Episode 46 (Bavarian Football Works)Like any good story (or maybe good horror story in this case), it must come to an end. The Bayern Munich transfer saga with Florian Wirtz is over, as the club lost to Liverpool, so now it is time to eulogize it and put it out of its misery with one last show. This is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works Show: Some final takes on why it was such a big deal that Bayern Munich missed on Florian Wirtz — and why losing him to Liverpool was a massive failure. A conversation with BPW staffer Jack Laushway, who sat down with Florian Wirtz (and other members of Bayer Leverkusen) ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. Let’s talk about what he learned about the star attacking midfielder. Why Bayern Munich should go get VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade if it really likes him that much — and how the Bavarians can make it work even with the presence of Harry Kane this season. Burkardt to Eintracht? (@Plettigoal)After a standout season with Mainz 05 and another call-up to the German national team, Jonathan Burkardt could be on his way to Eintracht Frankfurt: Eintracht Frankfurt are also working flat out to reach a full verbal agreement with Jonathan #Burkardt! There has been contact between the clubs for weeks. Nothing has…

FC Bayern München v Borussia Mönchengladbach - Bundesliga Photo by Christian Kaspar-Bartke/Bundesliga/Bundesliga Collection via Getty Images WIll Leroy Sané ink his contract extensions proposal from Bayern Munich? Things have been relatively silent between Bayern Munich and Leroy Sané for a couple of weeks now, but the situation could be heating up for the winger. Tottenham Hotspur has emerged as a candidate for Sané and, now, Napoli could be thrusting itself into the mix per La Gazzetta dello Sport reporter Gianluca Monti (vai @iMiaSanMia): Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is using a potential signing of Leroy Sané as an argument to convince Antonio Conte to stay at the club. Negotiations between Napoli and Sané are underway and the ‘story is hot.’ According to Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Sané’s agent, Pini Zahavi is in meetings with the Bavarians today: EXCL | Pini #Zahavi, now in Munich and meeting with the Bayern bosses! Main topic: Leroy #Sané!Extend or leave? Today will be decisive. Zahavi will speak with Max Eberl and Co. while, at the same time, his other client Jonathan Tah undergoes his medical with Bayern.Bayern remain open to extending Sané’s contract until 2028. It’s possible that the current offer will be adjusted — more fixed, less variable. Sané has not yet made a decision. Everything remains open.Sky Sport journalist Kerry Hau caught footage of Zahavi in Munich: Treffen mit dem FC Bayern – für entscheidende Gespräche über die Zukunft von Leroy Sané! Germany v France - UEFA Nations League 2025 Third Place Match Photo by Stefan Matzke - sampics/Getty Images This is…unexpected. According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich star Leroy Sané is on the verge of leaving the club in favor of Galatasaray: BREAKING | Leroy #Sané has now reached a full verbal agreement with Galatasaray! The final details are being negotiated in Istanbul now. Germany v Portugal - UEFA Nations League 2025 Semi-final Photo by Sebastian Widmann - UEFA/UEFA via Getty Images Persistence and attention were key… According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Galatasaray was able to woo Bayern Munich star Leroy Sané with its persistence, consistent communication, and — most importantly — a lucrative offer: @GalatasaraySK were the club who invested the most in Leroy #Sané over the past 2–3 weeks. There were phone calls, meetings, and the written offer. Most recently, Al-Hilal entered the race with a big offer. Arsenal asked Sané to wait. Bayern submitted a modified offer worth around €15 million in total (€12–13m gross per year guaranteed, instead of €10m). Sané rejected all other approaches and informed Bayern of his decision to leave the club within the past few hours — as exclusively revealed. He is now on the verge of joining Galatasaray. Final steps. @SkySportDE David Ornstein of The Athletic offered additional detail: Galatasaray agree to sign Leroy Sane as free agent. 3yr deal worth up to €15m per year net not signed but in place once Bayern Munich terms expire. #AlHilal #AFC #Fenerbahce all keen + #FCBayern wanted renewal but 29yo chose #Galatasaray @TheAthleticFCArsenal had been dragging its feet, but surprisingly, no other English clubs seriously entered the fray for Sané.The winger probably never envisioned a move to Türkiye, but this will most likely be his last big contract and for his future, he had to assess what would be the best place to spend the next stage of his career. The latest edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works Show has dropped and we have a lot of say!
