Mandzukic has been linked to the Bavarians throughout the summer, but rumors have shifted back-and-forth on whether or not Bayern Munich wants to bring the 33-year-old back in the fold. Per Schira, Sevilla and FC Barcelona are also interested, while Borussia Dortmund is also keeping an eye on Mandzukic: La #Juventus lavora per trovare sistemazione a Mario #Mandzukic: Paratici l’ha offerto al #Barcelona per Miranda, il croato vorrebbe tornare al #BayernMunchen ma tedeschi nicchiano. #Sevilla si è rifatto vivo e sullo sfondo resta ancora l’opzione #BorussiaDortmund. #calciomercato— Nicolò Schira (@NicoSchira) August 26, 2019#Juventus works to find accommodation for Mario #Mandzukic: Paratici offered him to #Barcelona for (Juan) Miranda, but the Croatian would like to return to #BayernMunchen. #Sevilla has come back to life and in the background there is still the option #BorussiaDortmund. #calciomercatoDraxler on his way out of Paris (Transfer Market Web)While the dumpster fire that is Paris Saint-Germain burns, it looks like Julian Draxler could on his way out the door: According to latest French news, almost 26-year-old German international attacking midfielder/winger Julian Draxler, playing for PSG since January 2017, might still be leaving Ligue 1 giants. Former Wolfsburg and Schalke star, inquired by Juventus, is currently on a deal with PSG until June 2021.Juventus is listed as a possible destination, but one has to wonder if Bayern Munich would not kick the tires on the Germany international. Draxler was on Bayern Munich wish-list as recently as June. Regardless, a move back to the Bundesliga would probably do Draxler well. PSG is currently missing Neymar (possible transfer-induced holdout), Kylian Mbappe (injury), and Edinson Cavani (injury), while former Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel seems to be under a bit of heat himself. Mr. Super Cup wins Bayern the UEFA Super Cup
After intense, at times even grueling 120 minutes, Bayern got their fourth title of the summer. Most experts and even many fans (especially in Germany) don’t really think much of the UEFA Super Cup, but one thing is for sure: The players absolutely did care for this trophy. The match itself might not have been that enthralling from a technical point of view, but it was brimming intensity. Both teams fought for their lives, showing everybody that this was anything but a pre-season match.Ocampos got Sevilla the early lead with a penalty after Alaba “fouled” Ivan Rakitić. It was the first signal that Anthony Taylor wasn’t about to become Bayern’s new favourite referee, as the call was very controversial. Alaba absolutely did push Rakitić a bit but refs usually don’t even call that a foul in the Bundesliga, let alone in a European final.Sevilla continued fighting and running their lungs out but Bayern wasn’t poor, either. Following a couple of chances Goretzka ultimately got the deserved equalizer. Müller put in a wonderful cross with the outside of his boot (where are the people laughing the man can’t really play ball?), Lewandowski showed supreme instincts and laid it off for Goretzka, who capped off one of his signature runs into the box.Bayern remained on top for the remaining 60 minutes, even scored twice, but had both goals disallowed. The second of which was a real stinger as Taylor’s call was very questionable.Just like in 2013, the UEFA Super Cup went into extra time and just like in 2013 Javi Martínez gave Bayern the title. Sevilla’s keeper played a fabulous game, but made a crucial mistake after a corner. Bono punched the ball forward gifting Martínez the chance to Edge it out with a picture-perfect header. There were still 15 minutes to be played, but as Sevilla was totally out of steam, the game was practically over. Just like that, Bayern won their second UEFA Super Cup!Sevilla shows the Bundesliga how it’s doneYou have to wonder if some Bundesliga coaches were looking at this match with a certain amazement, realizing that ultimately a weaker team actually can put the pressure on this Bayern side. Bundesliga sides are quick to just put the hands in the air, lamenting how good Bayern is, how much money they have, that there just is no way you could compete with them. Sevilla showed just how untrue that is. They’re an extraordinarily well-coached side that plays with intensity and believes in themselves. They fight for their lives but never forget that this is still a game of football, that football is meant to be played. They combine physical strength with technical prowess. You can’t win against this Bayern-side without getting your hands dirty but at the same time you can’t win just relying on purely athletic feats, you have to actually play football.Bayern desperately need fresh bloodIf there is one single take away from the game, then it’s that Salihamidžić and his team still has some work to do. In the Lisbon tournament everybody was raving how strong Bayern’s bench was, today we saw how much has changed. Without Perišić, Coutinho, Thiago and Coman things were looking dire. Leroy Sané obviously can’t play a full 90 or 120 minutes after being out for a year but Flick only had Tolisso and Davies to bring on. Ultimately the bench won Bayern the game in a way with Martínez scoring but you can’t rely on young teenagers in a European final, no wonder Flick didn’t want to bring Musiala, Tillman or Zirkzee on.Mr. FinalBayern had many good performances. For long stretches of the game, Kimmich bossed the midfield, controlling everything within his grasp, Müller continued where he left off in Lisbon (although he definitely should’ve scored that one chance in the 22nd minute) and Lucas Hernández…

FC Bayern München - Training SessionPhoto by A. Beier/Getty Images for FC BayernCould one of Bayern Munich’s prized prospects be on the move?According to a report from Fabrizio Romano, Sevilla is in “advanced talks” with Bayern Munich to sign center-back Tanguy Nianzou, who likely does not have a role under Julian Nagelsmann this season.Per Romano, Sevilla hopes to get a deal done this week. By doing so, Nianzou could begin his integration in a new team:Exclusive: Sevilla are in advanced talks to sign Tanguy Nianzou as new centre back. Discussions are progressing well as Nianzou is now Sevilla’s priority target. pic.twitter.com/CZdjpAnsHR— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) August 15, 2022Romano’s report comes just days after news began to circulate that the Bavarians were exploring a loan or sale of the the young Frenchman this transfer window. With Lucas Hernandez and Dayot Upamecano turning in excellent performances to start the season, even highly-touted newcomer Matthijs de Ligt cannot even get on the field just yet. In addition, Benjamin Pavard has been excellent as well, though the 2018 World Cup winner has been playing at right-back instead of his preferred position — center-back.Factoring in all of that, Nianzou likely saw the writing on the wall that he would not get much — if any — playing time with such a glut of talent at the position.

I’ve been checking in the last 24 hours and my information is that there was no meeting,” Romano said. “Bayern sources deny any meeting – this has been the position for some time. They are happy with their attacking options, having signed Sadio Mané in the summer, and with top talents like Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman and in-form youngster Jamal Musiala. Ronaldo was offered to Bayern last summer, but there was no intention to sign a player of his age. He’s a fantastic player who’s had a great career, but Bayern have a different kind of project.”The thought of Ronaldo suiting up in Bayern red at the Allianz Arena caused some fans agitation, while others were piqued by the chaos that would have occurred. Regardless, it does not appear that CR7 will have to brush up on his German any time soon.Depay to Spurs, Sevilla, or United? @RudyGaletti)FC Barcelona attacker Memphis Depay is likely leaving the club and has some big suitors in Sevilla, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United, who are supposedly interested in him:#Sevilla put in their sight #Depay: the club has already held talks with his entourage.
