Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus FC reacts during the Serie A 2022...Photo by Fabrizio Carabelli/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty ImagesOne big name reportedly ruled out by the Bayern brass as up-and-down “striker-less” results continue under Julian Nagelsmann.Striker Watch, for better or for worse, is back.Bayern Munich’s attack is blowing hot and cold in 2022/23, and with it, the discussion around whether the Bavarians need to find reinforcements in the transfers market to address Robert Lewandowski’s departure. While Lewandowski is busy collecting accolades and scoring goals apace for FC Barcelona in La Liga, his old club are still — depending on the latest result — wondering what their future looks like in attack. The big arrival from last summer’s transfer window, Sadio Mané from Liverpool, has already been moved to the left-wing on a seemingly permanent basis. One possible solution? Classic center-forward Dušan Vlahović, the 22-year-old towering Serbian phenom who is currently toiling away at Juventus Turin (the same club that this past summer sent Matthijs de Ligt to Munich). While Juventus are languishing in eighth place in Serie A, well short of a Champions League place in the table, Vlahović won’t be a cheap commodity — and that, combined with Bayern’s (current) scoring mood, is keeping things cool, per Sky’s Florian Plettenberg:News #Vlahovic: It‘s not hot with him and #FCBayern. Internal opinion: Too expensive! No need! At this stage he won’t even become an issue in summer 2023. @SkySportDEThis has caused television pundit and Erling Haaland whisperer Jan Aage Fjørtof’s eyebrows to lift into orbit, but Plettenberg holds firm in the following exchange:The bosses have another opinion!— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) October 17, 2022It is a bit curious, given recent reports suggesting that Bayern would be eager to fork out as much as €100m for Tottenham’s Harry Kane. Such a transfer would likely be well in excess of what Vlahović, recently rated around €85m on (guesswork-sourced) Transfermarkt, would require in both fee and salary. But perhaps it’s as much an evaluation of the player as it is a matter of economics. And who knows? At this point, the Bayern bosses may be preparing to hand over a new contract to Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. They probably would have rather liked to be in a situation where this conversation was not still swirling — but it is what it is, and the Rekordmeister remain a club on Striker Watch. What do you think? Would Vlahović be just the man to end Bayern’s No. 9 woes?

Empoli FC v Juventus - Serie A Photo by Gabriele Maltinti/Getty Images Is the coach right or do the squad planners know better at Bayern Munich? Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel is “convinced” that Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović is the exact kind of center-forward that he needs for his attack to be successful. However, not everyone at Säbener Straße is onboard with Tuchel’s plan to bolster the team’s offense per Sport Bild’s Christian Falk and Tobi Altschäffl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia): Thomas Tuchel is a fan of Dušan Vlahović and sees him as a potential solution for the #9 position. The club, however, is unconvinced and doesn’t believe the player is worth the price. There’s neither contact nor an offer being prepared. Vlahović could only be an option if the club fails to land all other targets (Kolo-Muani, Kane, Alvarez..).Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg confirmed the report and also stated that the Serbian striker is not even really a “hot” target at the moment: News #Vlahovic: Confirmed again what we have reported on Monday. Tuchel is a fan of the player as he’s convinced he’s a kind of striker that Bayern needs in the box. For the bosses he’s not a hot transfer target instead. Nothing has changed on that position as he’s too expensive. And their are not totally convinced of him. West Ham United v Leeds United - Premier League Photo by Nigel French/Sportsphoto/Allstar via Getty Images This would represent a massive change in thinking for Bayern Munich — and a huge investment. Just a few weeks ago, the thought of Bayern Munich getting both West Ham defensive midfielder Declan Rice or Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović seemed thoroughly absurd during the summer transfer window. Heck, even getting one of them looked like a real longshot. Now, however, the club is poised to splurge in the transfer market and looks ready to throw around some cash to get at least two high-value targets according to Sport1 journalist Kerry Hau: Turnaround in the search for 9: Vlahović, whom Salihamidzic did not want, is now a serious candidate alongside (Randal) Kolo Muani. Declan Rice’s transfer, which is already being discussed in the team, has priority. It’s looking good - Tuchel is pushing, Rice can imagine.Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg gave his account of the situation with Vlahović as well: News #Vlahovic: As revealed yesterday: He‘s back on the table for FC Bayern as he was an internal topic in the last days of the new transfer board. .

➡️ Difficult season for him but Tuchel is 'raving about' him
➡️ Rummenigge still has top contacts with Juventus
➡️ Been told… pic.twitter.com/cXoykq47Nx— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) May 30, 2023Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also doubled-down on his previous reports that Bayern Munich wanted Vlahović: Vlahović, one of the names in Bayern list and really appreciated by Tuchel.

Chelsea and Man United are also well informed on the situation but it all depends on Juventus. Up to them.

Dusan, always been in Bayern radar and remains there, as reported last week. https://t.co/yXPyaZ2UYY— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) May 30, 2023It should be noted that Romano initially reported that Bayern Munich wanted Vlahović before his German counterparts came out en masse to shoot down the rumors. Perhaps, Romano had some inside information after all. Regardless, Bayern Munich will also have to be cognizant of other needs that arise. The recent news that Benjamin Pavard will leave this summer, coupled with Lucas Hernandez’s potential exit, the stalled negotiations for Alphonso Davies, and the somewhat uncertain status of Noussair Mazraoui, could make the backline in need of bolstering as well.

Empoli FC v Juventus - Serie A Photo by Daniele Badolato - Juventus FC/Juventus FC via Getty Images Bayern Munich still needs a striker. Bayern Munich officially bowed out out of the race for West Ham defensive midfielder Declan Rice on Tuesday and could now find potential pursuit of Juvenus striker Dušan Vlahović far more complicated than originally thought. According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Vlahović has drawn the interest of new Chelsea FC coach Mauricio Pochettino, who could be meeting soon with Juventus to start to work out a deal: ️ #Vlahovic, talks between #Chelsea and #Juventus is about to begin, as revealed yesterday. ✅

The club - without #UCL - needs to sell and already set his price tag: around €80m to let him go.

Pochettino wants the striker: evolving situation. ⚽ #Transfers https://t.co/kx2HZKNgcM pic.twitter.com/5hiqGvr5xC— Rudy Galetti (@RudyGaletti) June 14, 2023Vlahović, however, was just one of the attacking options that Bayern Munich has been rumored to be pursuing for the summer transfer window. Kolo Muani is said to be a favorite of Bayern Munich supervisory board member Uli Hoeneß and might be ready to leave Die Adler per Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg: The main priority for the Bayern bosses is to find a striker now! #Rice was the hottest target for central midfield. But Bayern is out of the race for now as reported. Kolo Muani, one of the names that remains on Bayern‘s list. Instead, Frankfurt is not planning to extend his contract with a big salary increase - NOW. Frankfurt bosses will wait on further developments. His salary now: Less than €1.5m gross/year. Bayern Munich could start to feel the pressure of the summer transfer window as players start to ink deals with new teams. Will the Bavarians act quickly on Kolo Muani or will they play the long game in hopes of lowering the rumored €100 million asking fee of Eintracht Frankfurt?

As Leon Goretzka languishes on the bench, Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Tuchel continue to disagree on exactly what position Josh plays and how he plays it, and Konrad Laimer’s produces consistently average play, Gravenberch has been silent — which is odd for him after airing his grievances to the media on three separate occasions last season. All along the Dutchman has been linked to a transfer to <a href="https://liverpooloffside.sbnation.com">Liverpool FC</a>, but now — maybe — there could be some fire to accompany all of the smoke we have read about: <a href="https://liverpooloffside.sbnation.com/">Liverpool</a> are again being linked with a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch. The Netherlands international joined the German giants from Ajax last summer and, despite winning the Bundesliga during his maiden campaign with the club, was limited to only three league starts. And now, according to journalist Graeme Bailey, the name of Gravenberch is one he is still hearing amid plenty of talk about the Reds strengthening their midfield ahead of the closure of the summer <a href="http://www.sbnation.com/transfer-rumors">transfer window</a>.He said: “I do think they need this holding midfielder in there. The one I think to keep an eye on, guys, I’ve said this all summer, I think Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich. I think they might even do two, but I think Gravenberch could be one of them. He was waiting to see how the season goes with Bayern. I think he wants out. I think he knows there’s a role he can play at Liverpool, so I’d keep an eye on him, I’m still hearing his name quite a lot.”Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna also had his own account of the news: EXCL: <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Bundesliga?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Bundesliga</a> |

◉ Liverpool have reactivated their pursuit of Ryan Gravenberch this week. The player is open to a move to England. Talks ongoing with his entourage.
