Germany Portraits - UEFA Nations League 2025 Finals Photo by Alexander Hassenstein - UEFA/UEFA via Getty Images This is a great sign for the Bayern Munich youngster... Earlier today, a report broke that indicated that VfB Stuttgart star Nick Woltemade would get the starting nod at striker for Germany when the team faces Portugal later today. According to Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović could be in the starting XI as well: Aleksandar #Pavlovic is very likely to start alongside Leon #Goretzka tonight. #GERPORNick #Woltemade is also expected to be in the starting XI against Portugal.@SkySportDEIf true, there is very little doubt about what the starting XI will look like. Most observers expected Pascal Groß to join Leon Goretzka in the central midfield, but — if true — it looks like the Bayern Munich youngster will get the call. RB Leipzig v VfB Stuttgart - Bundesliga Photo by Maja Hitij/Getty Images Bayern Munich put in some work on Nick Woltemade... As more details leak out on what happened to escalate the situation between Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade so quickly, it appears that a video involving Woltemade, Max Eberl, Vincent Kompany, and Christoph Freund played a massive role in convincing both sides that this was a partnership that needed to happen. Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg checked in with the additional details: More on our exclusive news regarding Nick #Woltemade and FC Bayern: A verbal agreement until 2030 was reached quickly this week. It followed an impressive video call between Woltemade, Kompany, Eberl, and Freund. Bayern plan to begin formal negotiations with VfB Stuttgart after the U21 Euros.Bayern have been monitoring him for months. What makes him especially interesting for the club: he can play as a no. 9 & 10, and as a winger – combined with his top character. We had previously heard that Woltemade could be used as a No. 9 or a No. 10...but now a wing as well? That seems a little odd given his profile, but what it is telling us is that Bayern Munich is not bringing in Woltemade to sit on the bench. Looking for more thoughts and analysis on Bayern Munich’s big swing at chasing VfB stuttgart star Nick Woltemade? What about our takes on Bayern Munich’s secret transfer target meeting where Max Eberl laid out his plans for wing? They were unaware of the discussions taking place behind the scenes – and were surprised by the BILD headline early Thursday evening !VfB sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth said that the club was still planning with Woltemade.“The fact that this development hasn’t gone unnoticed by others and that we now read about interest from other clubs almost every day doesn’t change the fact that Nick’s journey with us is far from over. For its part, Bayern Munich is attempting to just play things down the middle…for now.“Nick Woltemade has developed well. We’re happy that he’s playing so well in the U-21 team. Germany v France - UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2025 Semi-Final Photo by Christian Hofer/Getty Images Take it or leave it Bayern Munich ramped up its efforts to sign rising German striker Nick Woltemade from fellow Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart. The fee was originally set at €30-40 million, just over the player’s current market value, but a certain annoying former player drove up the price to a staggering €100 million. Bayern doesn’t want to pay that:Bayern will nicht mal die Hälfte der geforderten 100 Millionen Euro des @VfB für #Woltemade zahlen. Eher weniger, circa 40 Millionen. Es kündigen sich erneut zähe Verhandlungen an. #FCBayern @Abendzeitung— Maximilian Koch (@_kochmaximilian) June 29, 2025Bayern is not even willing to pay half of the demanded 100 million euros by @VfB for #Woltemade. Rather less, around 40 million. Tough negotiations are looming again. #FCBayern @AbendzeitungStuttgart has since lowered the price, but the Bavarians believe that it’s still far too steep for the 1.98-meter giant. There were also reports that Bayern was willing to forgo their pursuit of a winger which has since been quelled. The club has since made offers to Luis Diaz from Liverpool and still await the situation of Nico Williams whom FC Barcelona can’t secure just yet.

Borussia Dortmund v VfB Stuttgart - Bundesliga Photo by Jürgen Fromme - firo sportphoto/Getty Images Bayern Munich vs. PSG…are you ready? Bayern, Stuttgart put talks on hold for Woltemade (Sport Bild’s Julian Agardi, Christian Falk, Tobi Altschäffl, Michel Schröer via @iMiaSanMia)According to Sport Bild’s army of reporters covering this transfer saga, Bayern Munich and Vfb Stuttgart have agreed to put contract talks for Nick Woltemade on hold until after the Club World Cup: Bayern and Stuttgart have agreed to put negotiations for Nick Woltemade on hold. After several calls between both clubs, it was agreed that as long as Bayern are in the USA for the Club World Cup, there will be no written offer. The atmosphere between FCB and VfB has improved following the phone call between Max Eberl and his counterpart at VfB, Fabian Wohlgemuth. Jan-Christian Dreesen also maintains contact with VfB CEO Alexander Wehrle. No figures have been mentioned in the talks so far. Stuttgart now wants to reach an internal agreement regarding the fee they will demand, while Bayern first want to play the Club World Cup. However, Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg provided his intel on the topic, which contradicts the Sport Bild info: Bayern and Stuttgart are still in talks regarding Nick #Woltemade. Discussions have not stopped. However, an agreement is still a long way off, and the situation is currently very complicated. There is still no written offer from Bayern’s side. VfB would only be willing to enter concrete negotiations in the case of an exceptional offer. Woltemade has once again communicated internally, while on holiday, that he wants to join Bayern. His return to team training in Stuttgart is planned for the end of July.Let’s be honest…we are aware of how this plays out if VfB Stuttgart is feeling vindictive for the Bavarians going behind their back to talk to Woltemade — it will drag out for most of the summer because it is a no lose situation for Die Schwaben. If they procrastinate and filibuster enough, they will hang on to Woltemade and hope he goes crazy statistically so a potential Florian Wirtz situation emerges for Bayern Munich. If they opt to sell, they can hold out until they comfortably drive up the price, and lessen Woltemade’s integration period in Bavaria. For Woltemade’s sake, hopefully a decision happens quickly, one way or the other.Martinelli could sign with Saudis (ESPN)Bayern Munich was linked to Arsenal FC winger Gabriel Martinelli, but the Brazilian could be headed to the Saudi Pro League:An unnamed Saudi Pro League club is preparing a “huge” offer to try to sign Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, as reported by Nicolò Schira, who adds that this is the case whether or not the Gunners want to keep the 24-year-old. The Brazil international endured periods where he struggled last term but still finished the campaign with 10 goals and six assists across all competitions, including a goal in the memorable away victory against Real Madrid.Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show: Paris Saint-Germain vs. Bayern Munich (Bavarian Football Works) Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are squaring off...in Atlanta, Georgia...under a dome...in July.Club World Cup action...catch it!In all seriousness, this is the most exciting and combative matchup of the tourney to date and should be filled with fireworks from both squads. UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2025 FinalEngland v Germany Photo by ANP via Getty Images Will Bayern Munich try again? Most definitely. According to a report from Sport Bild journalists Christian Falk, Tobi Altschäffl, and Julian Agardi, VfB Stuttgart has rejected Bayern Munich’s initial proposal, which was valued at €40 million, plus €5 million in add-ons: True✅ Our Story: VfB Stuttgart rejected the offer of FC Bayern for Nick Woltemade (23) ❇️Bayern offered 40 Millionen Euro plus 5 Millionen add-ons for the striker ❇️ The offer reached the VfB management late Thursday evening – and was immediately rejected on Friday morningSky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg also had the news as well: FC Bayern have submitted a written offer for Nick #Woltemade: €40m fixed plus €5m in add-ons.Exclusive detail: Bayern offered four payment instalments (€10m per year). Stuttgart immediately rejected the offer. The bid followed a video call between Wehrle/Wohlgemuth and Eberl/Dreesen in the last 48 hours. An agreement is not in sight at present. Stuttgart currently do not want to include any players in the deal. That type of offer was likely a waste of time. It might have worked six months ago, but a lot has changed between now and then. What’s next? We can assume that Bayern Munich will increase its proposal, but it still might be a challenge to get VfB Stuttgart to agree to a sale any time soon. UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2025 FinalEngland v Germany Photo by ANP via Getty Images Why even bother with low-ball proposals? According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, VfB Stuttgart essentially told Bayern Munich not to waste their time with weak offers for Nick Woltemade: VfB Stuttgart are expecting an improved offer from FC Bayern for Nick #Woltemade shortly, although they have actually signalled to Bayern that they are not available for negotiations in the current ranges. The first offer of 40 + 5 with 4 payment instalments has been rejected. There is an art to every deal, but this is not the first time we have heard that Bayern Munich has approached a transfer with such tactics. It might be time for the club to take a step back and see how the football landscape is changing and understand that what worked 10-15 years ago, might not work any more. Hopefully, there is an expedited approach with the second offer. Looking for a discussion on whether or not Bayern Munich is equipped with the necessary leadership for the upcoming season? TSG 1899 Hoffenheim v VfB Stuttgart - Bundesliga Photo by Alex Grimm/Getty Images Probably not good news... According to a report from Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, VfB Stuttgart might really be willing to continue to reject Bayern Munich’s advances for star attacker Nick Woltemade: VfB Stuttgart have already made an internal decision: should FC Bayern increase their offer for Nick #Woltemade to around €60 million, they intend to reject this offer as well. The claim that they would be open to talks from €65 million onwards is not confirmed by anyone at #VfB. It also remains unclear where Bayern’s limit will be. There is still no meeting between the executives of the two clubs. The positions remain hardened. This really might morph into the Bundesliga version of “The Chocolate War” with VfB Stuttgart just taking a stance at a time, where it might be easier (or beneficial) to at least listen to what Bayern Munich has to say on a player who — allegedly — already wants to leave. At this point, this really might drag on all summer. The careers of Liverpool FC’s Luis Diaz and Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl could end up intertwined if the transfer move goes through. Meanwhile, is the rest of the Bundesliga sick of being bullied by Bayern Munich and is the league bleeding too much talent? Also, Paul Wanner and Lennart Karl could be in line for opportunities during the preseason...can the youngster take advantage of those chances? VfB Stuttgart v Borussia Mönchengladbach - Bundesliga Photo by Alex Grimm/Getty Images This has been fun, eh? According to a report from Bild journalist Julian Agardi, Bayern Munich does not want to submit a third offer to VfB Stuttgart for Nick Woltemade. Instead, the Bavarians wants to hold a face-to-face meeting with representatives from Die Schwaben, but the VfB Stuttgart’s team of executives does not seem interested in such a summit: News Nick #Woltemade: FC #Bayern will not submit a 3rd offer to #VfB in the coming days. The Munich team wants to meet personally with the Stuttgart team before sending the next offer. The catch: VfB continues to reject such a meeting. Per Agardi and his Bild colleague Tobi Altschäffl (via @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich is flummoxed by the situation: Stuttgart’s tough stance is met with incomprehension both by FC Bayern and also by Woltemade’s camp.VfB Stuttgart’s hardline stance with Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen’s bitterness toward the Bavarians have left things feeling a bit....frosty for the German Rekordmeister and the rest of the league. The real loser in this deal is Woltemade, who has a much more lucrative contract waiting for him in Bavaria and a much better situation from a sporting perspective. Germany v France - UEFA Nations League 2025 Third Place Match Photo by Alex Grimm/Getty Images What do you think? It just might be do or die time for VfB Stuttgart as it pertains to a sale of Nick Woltemade to Bayern Munich. While the Bavarians want Woltemade badly, they are unwilling to get the transfer fee to a level that Stuttgart is comfortable with just yet. As it stands, Woltemade is off to camp with VfB Stuttgart (per Sport Bild’s Julian Agardi via @iMiaSanMia) Nick #Woltemade is not returning to Tegernsee on Monday, but already today to #VfB. In the morning, the striker will undergo his performance diagnostics and fitness tests in Bad Cannstatt. The day after tomorrow, he will head to Rottach-Egern. Woltemade still aims to join FC #Bayern. Will Bayern Munich buck the trend and get its man or will the Bavarians be out of luck?Tell us what you think in the comments below...With a move for Hugo Ekitiké getting close, the reality is that Bayern Munich is likely going to get Luis Diaz…whether fans like it or not. Bayern Munich has reportedly also exited talks with VfB Stuttgart to focus on a deal for Diaz. It might also just be time for Bayern Munich to rip off the band-aid and sell Kim Min-jae, João Palhinha, and Sacha Boey. Finally, we have a note Bayer Leverkusen’s CEO and his recent slam on Bayern. Germany v France - UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2025 Semi-Final Photo by Boris Streubel - UEFA/UEFA via Getty Images Luis Diaz could sign any moment now... Bayern, Woltemade getting closer? (Nicolò Schira)Transfer journalist Nicolò Schira is reporting that Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart could be getting close to a deal worth €50 million: Nick #Woltemade is getting closer to #BayernMunich from #Stuttgart for €50M. Agreed personal terms for a contract until 2030. #transfersSchira is not as tied into the Woltemade saga as some other journalists, so the proverbial grain of salt is needed with this one. However, there does seem to be at least some thought that VfB Stuttgart could be ready to waver on its hardline stance regarding Woltemade. With the deal for Luis Diaz expected to close within hours, Bayern Munich should be able to approach the Woltemade pursuit with more urgency. All that remains to be seen is if VfB Stuttgart is willing to part ways with a player it clearly values. LFC “prioritizing” move for Real’s Rodrygo (ESPN)With rumors swirling that Liverpool FC could make a move for Newcastle United star and former Borussia Dortmund striker Alexander Isak, there are other stories out there that say Liverpool could spring for Real Madrid’s Rodrygo: Liverpool are prioritizing a move for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, according to TEAMtalk. The Reds reportedly see the 24-year-old as their No. 1 option to replace Luis Díaz as the Colombia international nears a €75 million move to Bayern Munich. But with belief that Los Blancos could demand a significant transfer fee worth close to €90m, the Anfield hierarchy are also lining up some alternatives. One of those is 20-year-old RB Leipzig and Norway international Antonio Nusa, while Lyon’s Malick Fofana, also 20, is another player on their radar.Bavarian Podcast Works — Flagship Show: Season 8, Episode 1 (Bavarian Football Works)Bayern Munich will have Luis Diaz in tow for this season, but that move is not the only one in motion. Christian Falk informed CFBayern that Muller wants to go to Canada to join MLS outfit Vancouver Whitecaps. The Whitecaps are currently in talks with FC Cincinnati over the Discovery Rights of Muller. Cincinnati are likely to demand much more than $400,000 (around €340,000) from them.In the MLS, sorting out the discovery rights is not a big issue. If Muller wants to join the Whitecaps, the MLS will try to make it work. That is what happened here. Falk says that the MLS has intervened as a mediator to ensure that Muller’s transfer does not fail due to transfer demands from a club in its own league association.
