♠️What is mourning and why is it necessary for us?

♣️Mourning is a kind of recollection. Because the humankind is inherently forgetful and sometimes forgets those things which are beneficial for him/her. In a situation like this, notifying can keep us away from engaging in irreparable incident, and will cause us to achieve good benefits of paying attention to that (beneficial) recollection.

♠️To answer this question that why we should mourn, we can refer to Quran.

♣️The first reason is "Honoring the God's symbols" that we have in Quran: Surah Haj"

♠️"And whoever honors the symbols of Allah - indeed, it is from the piety of hearts."

♣️Days of birth and martyrdom of infallible Imams, definitely are " God's days"-(Holy days).It is necessary for humankind to recall those events to exit from darkness to light and turn to a self-built person.

♠️Mourning for innocents Imams is an example of God's days because it reminds the humankind of them, their hardships, their commands and also it reminds us the duty which we have.

♠️Additionally, mourning ceremonies can cause to recollect the Ahl-Al-Bait (The Prophet Mohammad's holy household) and their school of thought.

♣️The second reason of mourning is the kinship which we must have with Prophet's household. As Quran says, this kind of kinship is necessary for us.
"Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not ask you for this message any payment [but] only good will through kinship."

♠️So, according to Quran, mourning for Ahl-Al-Bait (The Prophet's household) is the least action we can do carry out our duty towards them.

▪️We are all orphans of Muhammad's heavenly family.
We should endeavor to have orphans of this heavenly family of Muhammad reconcile with their heavenly father and their true family, and get to know their values.

▪️What is the greater tragedy?
the greater tragedy is a catastrophe and is the sovereignity of unqualified rulers over the people.

▪️In the abscence of infallible experts, people don't know how to grow.

▪️Look at the 7-8 billion population on the planet; how many of them are gaining more resemblance to God?

▪️God has created humans so that they can become as Great as Husayn (a).

▪️in a Qudsi Hadith (words of God himself) we have that:

▪️O, my servant, worship me, and I shall make you like myself.
▪️I am an Alive who doesn't die, and I shall make you an alive who won't die.

▪️I am a Rich who doesn't become poor, and I shall make you a rich who won't become poor.

▪️So, the Goal of creation of mankind, is for mankind to gain resemblance to Allah.

▪️When it's said that regarding the greater tragedy, we should cry, dress in black, hang flags, and mourn, the reason for this is to have people constantly be aware of the greater tragedy, and not to forget that there is also an Imam who is asking for our help today.

▪️He has all the required expertise for guiding people and can have them reach happiness, and he lives on this planet, but he is lonely and separated.

▪️We shouldn't be like the people in the era of Imam al-Husayn (a). We should know the Yazids, Shemrs, Khulis, Harmalas and the criminals of our time.

▪️We should also know the Husayn of our time, and we should rise to help him, so that all the people of the world can reach happiness.

"The manners of mourning for Aba 'Abd Allah Al-Husayn(a)"

☑️1.Wearing black
According to Fiqh(religious jurisprudencce) wearing black is reprehensible,exept for the mourning for Imam Al-Husayn(a) and the infallible Imams(a),because that is a sighn of sorrow and also for promotion of the sacraments and epics.

☑️2.Condoling:
Condoling with stricken people and who are suffering misfortune is recommended in Islam.The Holy Prophet(s): Who ever condoles with an afflicted person,has a reward as his(Safinat al-Bihar,vol.2 ,p.188). This tradition is so common among shias, they express their condolences with this statement "May God increase your reward". Imam Bagher(a) says:"When shias meet each other during the mourning days for Aba 'Abd Allah,it's better to iterate the statement(( May God increase our reward for mourning over Imam Husayn(a), and include us among his avengers along with our saint Imam Mahdi(a),the member of the Prophet's household))(Mostadrak al-Vasayel,vol.2. ,p. 216).

☑️3. Abandoning occupations in Ashura:
Imam al-Sadiq (a):
"Anyone who makes the day of 'Ashura a holiday, i.e. he does not go for his jobs and occupations and in spite of Umayyads who considered 'Ashura a day of abundance of profits, he does not go after work even for the living, God will provide his needs in this world and in the hereafter, and for anyone the day of 'Ashura is a day of sorrow and grief, the Day of Resurrection which is a day of distress for all, will be a day of happiness for him. (Amali by Sheikh Saduq, p. 129)

☑️4.Shedding Tears and showing sorrow:
In a Qudsi hadith ( Hadith from God), we read that Allah said to Prophet Moses (a): O, Moses, If my servants either shed tears for Muhammad's grandson (Imam Husayn) in the day of his martyrdom (Ashura), or show sorrow and offer each other condolences on tragedies happened to Imam Husayn (a), s/he will arive in heaven and stay there forever.

☑️5. Reciting Ziarat al-Ashura:
If you can, recite Ashura with its 100 lans but if there is not enough time, once is enough.

☑️6. Holding mourning ceremonies which is also confirmed By Imam Sadiq (a).

☑️7.Afternoon prayer of Ashura:
The master of martyrs (Imam Husayn) and his loyal companions were all slaughtered in the path of prayer. That's why in the Motlaghe Ziyarat of Imam Husayn (a), we say to Imam that: I witness that you performed the prayer (Salat), and gave alms and commanded on the right and deprecated the wrong.

☑️8.Bearing some discomfort:
Quit some life enjoyments which come from eating, drinking, and even sleeping and speaking (unless it's necessary) and also quit visiting people and dedicate that day to crying and being sad like a person who has lost his father or child.

☑️9. Having sheer/pure intentions:
Don't do mourning because you are used to doing it and try to do it with pure and sheer intentions and only for the sake of God because a small good work which is with sincere and pure intentions is alot better than alot of works in which there is no honesty and pure intentions even if it's thousands times more.

♣️The Goal of mourning♣️

☑️The goal of mourning for Imam Husayn (a.s) is to remember the Imam of our time who is lonely, and oppressed and every day calls for help saying: Is there anyone who will help me?

☑️We should be careful not to repeat the same mistake people made at the time of Imam Husayn (a.s) and we should bear in mind that someone named Mahdi, the Imam of our time, is now waiting for us,who are his children, somewhere on the earth.

☑️So our lifestyle should change to adjust with the Husayn's of our time. If we go to university, we should be a Mahdavi student. If we marry, we should be a Mahdavi spouse, Mother and father and bring up a Mahdavi generation.

☑️Our children, should establish relationships with their Imam because they do not deserve to have a father or an Imam less than Imam al-Mahdi.

☑️Our society and people deserve the Imam and why should we be deprived of him? Such a person should be ruling the world. Why shouldn't we be able to reach this?

☑️The first step is to follow the goals of Karbala and the goals of Imam al-Mahdi ourselves and then transmit these goals to the next generations, people and other world nations.

☑️This goal is so important. So, when we cry for the great tragedy, we should be careful to cry with our everlasting human feelings. And we shouldn't say that 1400 years ago in the year 60 HJ, there was a good Arab man named Husayn who was our Imam and was martyred, and now we should cry for him. This is mourning with our non-divine (bestial) feelings. They don't need our bestial sympathy that is to imagine the tragedies of Karbala and then cry.

▪️What is "revenge"and who is the "avenger"?

▪️We read in Ziyarat Ashura:" ... and give me the opportunity to be with the victorious Imam at the time of the final and decisive war against Allah's enemies....(to revenge for Sar-Allah).

▪️As you see, it teaches us: to be the true mourner, we should be an avenger.

▪️Obviously, today, taking revenge doesn't mean executing anybody because this kind of it has already been done by Mokhtar.

▪️We read in Ziyarat Ashura "al-Vetr va al-Mautur" which means an individual whose relatives are murdered but he cannot take their rights back. For this reason Imam Husayn (a) is called so, and when we call him "Sar-Allah=God's Blood", it refers to the legal aspect of Ahl al-Bayt(a).
"God's Blood " means the devine direction in the vessels of society.

▪️The infallible Imams are the symbols of Sar-Allah , and also the agents of mankind spiritual guidance towards their creation goal. Therefore in the gatherings for Ahl al-Bayt, the spirit of revenge should be revived in the mourners. That is to say to remove the obstacles for the arrival of Imam al-Mahdi (a) or restitution. On this step, he will be able to decide like the companions of Ashura; he will achieve the cognition toward the "Main Avenger", Imam al-Mahdi (a).

▪️So the true mourner endevours for the global sovereignty of Imam Husayn and all of the prophets, because we know Imam al-Mahdi as the avenger for not only Imam al-Husayn (a), but also all of the prophets and their sons, as we read in Dua Nudba:" Where is the one demanding with the vengeance of the prophets and their sons?"

▪️This is a mental-cognitive and operational step, meaning that the mourner directs his thoughts and heart towards the Husayn of his own time.

▪️The name of Imam Zaman has been mentioned two times by the Wise Allah in Ziyarat Ashura on purpose; to reminde us that we, human beings, deserve having Imam al-Mahdy as a blessing and without his teachings and leadership, we cannot achieve the human life.

♠️His Eminence, Amir al-Mumenin said about Imam Mahdi: the owner of this matter, is lonely and rejected.

♠️These words are very burdensome and heart-rending
and it refers to a loneliness, far deeper and more lasting than that of all infallibles, and not just Imam al-Husayn (a).

♠️When a true mourner realizes that the world needs infallibe expert(s), and this person is the only source of spiritual life of humans, and this person is Thar Allah which is the required blood for the spiritual life of humans, and when he sees that this person is lonely and rejected, realizes that "to avenge" is to "clear the obstacles that are hindering the reapperance of Imam Zaman" and it has no other meaning but this.

♠️To avenge is to change the taste of the society.

♠️To avenge is to change the culture and the quality of the mournings

♠️To avenge is to increase the level of awareness of the mourners (about their religion)

♠️To avenge is to create a rich content in the gatherings for Ahl al-Bauyt (a).

♠️To avenge is to change the mournings, from just a custom and a tradition, to a powerful tool that can create a feeling of vengeance against the obstacles that empede the presence of Imam amongst people.

♠️To avenge is to do operations, to have the spirit of Jihad, and to move toward the Husayn of our time.

♠️To avenge is to have the same spirit, as the companions of Husayn (a) and Martyrs of Karbala.

♠️To avenge is to change the lifestyle in order to move toward the fortress of the Husayn of our time.

▪️What is "revenge" and who is the "avenger"?

▪️To avenge is to let go of our bestial and earthly attachments, to (be able to) move freely toward the Camp of the Hussain of our time.

▪️To avenge is to love and be affectionate toward the Hussain of our time.

▪️To avenge is to suffer from the exclusion, banishment, loneliness, and the sufferings of Imam al-Mahdi.

▪️To avenge is to gain resemblance to the companions of Imam Hossain on the day of Ashura. Among those companions, there were people from all walks of life; from great masters, to Christians, children, men, women, old men, youths, teenagers, and all kinds of diverse characters. It means that no matter who you are and what position you have, you can help the Hussain of your time and join him and reach his camp and his fortress.

▪️To avenge means no matter who you are, you should adjust your lifestyle, your choices, behaviors, thoughts, connections, and thinking patterns in a way that won't block you from reaching the camp of his holiness and won't impede you from helping the Hussain of your time.

▪️To avenge, means being beneficial for Imam al-Mahdi.

▪️To avenge means having power to remove the obstacles of Imam al-Mahdi's Arrival.

▪️To avenge is the removal of a parasitic relationship toward Ahl al-Bayt and Imam al-Husayn and Imam al-Mahdi, and to transform that relationship into an active bilateral one

▪️To avenge is for you to understand that he's your true father, and you have duties toward him.

🔺What is "revenge" and who is the "avenger"?

▪️To avenge is to transform "kindness" to "affection", the type of affection that Quran wants us to have toward Ahl al-Bayt. (Affection here, is referring to a type of kindness that close people have toward each other, that makes them want to sacrifice for each other and go through hardships to make each other happy.)

▪️To avenge is to change the mourning, from mourning of kindness, to affectionate ones.

▪️To avenge is to change the character of mourners, from simply a mourner who has kindness toward Ahl al-Bayt, to an affectionate One who has accepted the order of God about being affectionate toward Ahl al-Bayt.

▪️To avenge means to have Imam al-Mahdi present is all areas of our lives, from personal, social, cultural, political, economic, artistic and above all, emotional and cognitive areas.

▪️We only hold mourning for the Hussain of year 61 Hijri, but we don't cry for the Hussain of our own time, and neglect his exclusion, loneliness, banishment, and suffering which is far greater than that of Imam al-Hussain.

▪️It means that we should feel sad for this banishment and we should cry. That’s why Imam al-Mahdi himself had said: “I pray for those who cry for my forefather Imam al-Hussain, but also think about me and prays for my arrival."
