October 2026: Stewardship and Faithful Living
π΄Week 1: Biblical Stewardship of Time and Talents
π Q13 Answer Commentary
π― Correct Answer: A
β’ The Scripture: Ephesians 5:20 (ESV) explicitly frames our gratitude: "...giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
β’ The Takeaway: True biblical stewardship of our attitude means choosing gratitude in all seasons. It redirects our eyes away from current anxieties and focuses entirely on the enduring nature of the Father.
β’ Watch Out: Option C is a major cross-reference trap using the famous phrasing from 1 Thessalonians 5:18!

October 2026: Stewardship and Faithful Living
π΄Week 1: Biblical Stewardship of Time and Talents
π Q14 Answer Commentary
π― Correct Answer: D
β’ The Scripture: Romans 12:8 (ESV) sets the standard: "...the one who contributes, in generosity [or liberality, depending on your target lexicon style]; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness."
β’ The Takeaway: Stewardship of our finances and resources must be free from ulterior motives, personal calculations, or reluctance. True kingdom giving is marked by an open, single-minded hand.
β’ Watch Out: Option B is a highly convincing trap that borrows the famous "cheerful giver" language from 2 Corinthians 9:7. It sounds doctrinally sound, but it doesn't match the specific text layout of Romans 12!

October 8: Absence of Pain, Presence of God.
#Devotional
Ezekiel 17:1β18:32; Revelation 7:9β8:13; Job 34:16β30
When life is difficult, we often take refuge in knowing thereβs a life to comeβone in which weβll be free from pain and the worries of this world. The thought brings us comfort. During the difficult times, the life to come might even be more appealing than the present.
Revelation shows us a picture of what new life for those redeemed by Christ will look like: βThese are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation, and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Because of this, they are before the throne of God, and they serve him day and night in his temple, and the one who is seated on the throne will shelter them. They will not be hungry any longer or be thirsty any longer, nor will the sun ever beat down on them, nor any heatβ (Rev 7:14β16).
In Revelation the life to come appears as a shelter from all the traumatic and stressful things afflicting the first-century churchβhunger, thirst, and heat. Yet we shouldnβt simply define this new life as a time when weβll be free from the stress and pain of this world.
This new life is defined by Godβs presence. The sacrifice of the Lamb has made life with God possible again. If we are clothed in His righteousness, we can stand before the throne of God. Revelation illustrates what our relationship with God is and is destined to be. We will serve Him day and nightβas we were created to doβand He will shelter us. The Lamb will shelter and shepherd us, leading us to βsprings of living watersβ (Rev 7:17).
When we long for relief, we might be yearning for a renewed sense of Godβs presence among us. We long for His presence because it is free from difficulty and filled with His incredible love.
What are you truly longing for?

October 8 - The Samaritan Womanβs Reaction
#LifeOfChrist
βSo the woman left her waterpot, and went into the city and said to the men, βCome, see a man who told me all the things that I have done; this is not the Christ, is it?β They went out of the city, and were coming to Himβ (John 4:28β30).
Leaving her jar at the well, the woman hurried back βinto the cityβ and, gathering a crowd, excitedly said to the men, βCome, see a man who told me all the things that I have done.β A stranger who knew all about her past was no ordinary man. Jesusβ impact on her was so profound that she did not hesitate to share the news about Himβeven with those familiar with her sordid reputation. Jesus had read her heart and forced her to face herself. She had already recognized her need (4:15), her sin (4:19), and who He was (4:26). Her immediate desire to witness to others was now the clinching piece of evidence that her conversion was genuine.
βThis is not the Christ, is it?β The Greek construction of this question implies a negative or at least a doubtful answer. The woman described her conversation with Jesus and humbly deferred the question of His identity to the men. They were so impressed by her excitement and sincerity that they went to investigate Him for themselves. Though no specific number is given, the implication is that the womanβs excited testimony had stirred up a sizeable group.
Let the testimony of this woman work as a barometer of your own desire to proclaim the gospel as the Lord gives you opportunity.
Ask Yourself
The incessant demands of our daily wants and needs always serves as a willing excuse for putting off Christβs command to proclaim our faith. What are some of the βwaterpotsβ you need to put down from time to time so that you can be free and available to share what Jesus has done for you?

He is independent (Acts 17:25)
He is eternal (Ps 102:12)
He thinks (Is 58:8-9)
He communicates (Heb 1:1-2)
He acts in history (Heb 2:4)

WEEK 2 β The Long Night & Watching (Oct 5β11)
8. October 8 (Thursday)
Dear Daughter,
Paul and Silas sang at midnight, in chains, with no promise the doors would open. The doors opened anyway.
Sing over your marriage in its hardest hour β not because you're certain of the outcome, but because worship changes the atmosphere regardless.
Midnight songs move mountains.
'At midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns' (Acts 16:25).
What midnight season in your marriage needs a song, not just a solution?

βChrist . . . will appear a second time . . . to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.β Hebrews 9:28
The fact that we *have been* saved (Eph. 2:8) and *are being* saved (1 Cor. 1:18) means that we are irrevocably united to the One who *will save* us from coming judgment.

Every day with Jesus, this is sweeter than the day before:
βYou have been borne by me from before your birth,
carried from the womb;
even to your old age I am he,
and to gray hairs I will carry you.
I have made, and I will bear;
I will carry and will save.β
