రామ నామ మహిమ.
పార్వతీదేవి శివునితో సంభాషిస్తూ.. ‘తెలియక చేసినా తెలిసి చేసినా రామనామంతో ముక్తి లభిస్తుందన్నది వాస్తవమేనా నాథా’ అని సందేహం వెలిబుచ్చినప్పుడు సదాశివుడు కొందరు కిరాతకుల కథ చెప్పాడు. వాళ్లు తమ జీవన విధానం గురించి..
వనేచరామః వసుచాహరామః
నదీన్తరామః నభయం స్మరామః
ఇతీరయంతో విపినే కిరాతా
ముక్తింగతాః రామపదానుషంగాత్‌
..అని చెప్పేవారట. ‘‘మనం వనంలో తిరిగే వాళ్లం. ధనాన్ని అపహరిస్తాం. నదీనదాలను దాటుతుంటాము. భయం అన్నది మనకు స్మరణకే రాదు’’ అని దీని అర్థం. వారికి తెలియకుండానే ఈ నాలుగు వాక్యాల్లో చివర ‘రామ’ శబ్దం ఉండడంతో రామనామాన్ని అనుసంగమం చేసుకొని వారి మరణానంతరం వారు ముక్తి పొందారట. అనాలోచితంగానే రామ శబ్దం ఇంతటి పుణ్యాన్నిస్తుంది. ఇక తెలిసి రామ చింతన చేస్తే.. ఇంకా చెప్పేదేముంది? ముక్తి లభించడంలో సంశయం అక్కరలేదు. శంకరుల వారి ఈ మాటలకి పార్వతి సంతృప్తి చెందింది. రామ శబ్దంలోని ర, మ అనునవి రెండు బీజాక్షరములు. శ్రీ మహావిష్ణువు అష్టాక్షరీ మంత్రంలోఐదో అక్షరం ‘రా’, శివ పంచాక్షరీ మహామంత్రంలోని రెండో అక్షరం ‘మ’. అలా రామ శబ్దం నిర్మితమైంది. ఐదు, రెండులను గుణిస్తే పది అవుతుంది. పదిని మరో పదితో గుణిస్తే వంద. దాన్ని మరో పదితో గుణిస్తే వెయ్యి. అంటే..
మూడుసార్లు రామనామాన్ని ఉచ్చరిస్తే వెయ్యిసార్లు ఉచ్చరించినట్టే.
శ్రీ రామ రామ రామేతి రమేరామే మనోరమే
సహస్రనామ తత్తుల్యం రామనామ వరాననే.
రామ శబ్దానికి ముందు ఓం ఉచ్ఛరించవలసిన అవసరం లేదు. కారణం రామ శబ్దమే ఓంకారానికి ప్రతీక. రామ శబ్దం ఉచ్చరిస్తే చాలు ఏ జపాలు మంత్రాలూ, తంత్రాలు అక్కరలేదు. రామ శబ్ద పారాయణం విష్ణు సహస్రనామ పారాయణకు సర్వసమానం. అందుకే మనలో చాలామందికి.. ఉత్తరాల పైభాగంలో ‘శ్రీరామ’ అని రాసిన తరువాతనే తదుపరి సమాచారం రాయడం అలవాటు. రామ శబ్దం పలకడానికి శౌచం అశౌచం లేదు. వేళతో నిమిత్తం లేదు.

praise to raghurama who holds the pure conch, majestic club and chakra; praise to the one who fulfills the desires of his true devotees; praise to the one who is lord Vishnu and is aware of the thoughts of all the beings residing in the three worlds; I seek refuge in the one who is supreme in giving shelter to the needy.

5. He who shines as their soul to those souls, who pray to him, who is like the clear crystal, who is the only source to those who wish for salvation,
6. He who is the Paramatma to those thinkers, who shines like the millions of Suns, who is like Narayana residing in the nadi-s, who is digestive fire.
7. The king of mantras with two syllables (Rama) would lead to fulfillment of all desires, and along with the suffix of one letter, it becomes six different mantras, [they are Om, Hrim, Srim, Klim, Aim and Ram.]
8. These king of mantras consisting of three syllables also will fulfill all desires. 9. The two four lettered mantras are Ramachandra and Ramabhadra.
10. These can be chanted with the rishi and others as told before; Viswamithra is its Rishi, the meter is pankti, Devatha is Ramabhadra, The Bheeja is Shakthi.
