śrīrāmāyaṇa mādikavya mṛṣiṇā vālmīkinā nirmitam
vēdāntārtha viśāradai ranudinam stutyam surai rarcitam |
śrōtruṇā maghanāśanam suratarō stulayam tu muktipradam
yē śrṇvanti paṭhanti rāmacaritam tē yānti viṣṇōḥ padam ||

Rough translation
sri ramayana is the first and foremost scripture, written by sage valmiki,
praised (recited) daily by people who are well versed or knowledgeable in the school of Vedanta, and is worshipped by the gods and leads to moksha.
those who listen to the ramayana, their sins are destroyed, it is equal to the wish fulfilling tree(kalpataruvu) and leads one to salvation.
those who listen or recite the ramayana, attain the feet of lord vishnu (salvation).

śrī rāmam janakakșitīśvara sutāvakatāmbujā hāriņam
śrī madbhānukulābdhikaustubha maņim śrī ratna vakșaḥsthalam|
śrīkanṭhādyamaraugharatna makuṭālankāra pādāmbujam
śrīvatsōjjvalamindra nīlasadŗśam śrī rāma candram bhajē||


rough translation:
i pray to sri rama who is captivated by the lotus like face of king janaka’s daughter, who is like the precious jewel of the sun clan, whose chest is adorned with precious gems, whose feet are decorated with the glittering stones from the crowns worn by iswara and other gods (all the gods bow to his feet, hence the reflection from the jewels on their crown decorates his lotus feet), who is like a blue sapphire with the auspicious sri vatsa mark (mole) on his chest.

Second chapter

11. This mantra should be invoked mentally in the middle of the eye brows, head, navel, thighs and feet.

12. One should go to the middle of the forest and sit under the Kalpa-Vriksha (wish-fulfilling or eternal tree) and assume the posture of “Pushpalata” (flowering creeper plant), do the anga nyasa and chant the mantras,

13. With Lakshmana having arranged properly the arrow and the Lord being fanned by Sita.

14. Dhyana mantra:- I salute that Rama, who has lustrous matted hair, who is bluish in colour, who is surrounded by sages, who is being fanned by Janaki, who is protected by Lakshmana holding an umbrella,

15. The one who killed Ravana, who is extremely peaceful, and before whom stand Sugreeva and Vibeeshana. For achieving victory one should chant this sloka ten million times.

16. The five lettered mantras are formed by adding the root letters for Manmatha, Durga, Saraswati and Lakshmi at the beginning of the four lettered mantra, [adding OM to make it six-syllabled] and lead to the realization of the four Purushartha-s.
17. When each of the fifty mystic syllables of the Sanskrit alphabet (nasalized), as well as the root letters of Lakshmi, Saraswati, Manmatha and OM are added as the first syllable several varieties of six lettered mantras are formed.

అకారము మొదలు క్షకారము వరకు గల అక్షరస్వరూపుడై, ఇంతటివాడని ప్రమాణింప శక్యము గానివాడు,
ఆద్యుడు,
గొప్ప సౌందర్యము కలిగిన ఆ శ్రీరాముని శరణు పొందితిని.

i take refuge in sri rama, who is the root of all happiness, who has red lips and lotus like pure eyes, who is adorned in golden clothes, who is of bluish maroon complexion like the linseed flower, who is the form of all alphabets, who is pure and faultless, who is immeasurable, who is the first and foremost, who is in mortal form and is the greatest of the raghu clan.

rough translation:
i pray to sri rama, who in his abode in ayodhya is surrounded by sita, bharata and other brothers, monkeys, kinnaras, rulers of the directions, saints, sages and great kings and is seated in a gold lotus with eight petals, which is placed in a plane studded with rows of nine gems and decorated with various types of flags.

అయోధ్యయందు నవరత్నములు పొదగబడి, చిత్రములైన ధ్వజములచే (జెండాలచే) అలంకరింపబడిన గృహములో విమానమందుగల బంగారు అష్టదళ పద్మములో సీతతోగూడి, భరతాదులతోను, వానర, కిన్నర, దిక్పతులతోను, మునిశ్రేష్ఠులతోను, రాజసమూహములతోను సేవించబడుతున్న ఆ శ్రీరాముని సేవించుచున్నాను.
