TASS writes:

Embassies and consulates of Latvia will resume accepting applications for issuing visas to certain categories of Russian citizens from July 4th. This was reported by the Delfi portal.

Relatives of Latvian citizens and persons with the status of non-citizens of the republic (spouses, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, as well as dependents) will be able to apply for a visa. Exceptions will also affect relatives of citizens of EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland.

In addition, it will be possible to apply for a visa for good humanitarian reasons: in case of a serious illness of a loved one or participation in a funeral.

NOTE from Павел Владимирович: The shift in appearances and outright policies is becoming increasingly noticeable and visible. This happens on the same day as the Czech Republic lifted a large amount of bans on export to Russia. Rhetoric is changing also, the ever increasing amount of articles in Western media that are not so chippy as far as Ukraine goes also show a drastic shift. Voices are now sounding against supplying Ukraine and in favour of negotiations, Western representatives meeting BRICS colleagues in Copenhagen almost in secrecy too shows this. Ukraine is being prepared to be ditched. Yes, you will still have your Ursulas and your Blinkens and your Nulands, but their voices are becoming increasingly irrelevant. This is, of course, purely a speculation at this point, but, as far as I can see, too many indicators point to this now to be a coincidence or meaningless. I may be wrong.

"You are at war... You need it more": the Dutch Prime Minister refused to drink Zelensky's coffee.

You bet! He was afraid that instead of sugar Zelensky might have been spiked with a couple of spoonfuls of poison.

The FSB announced the discovery of explosives in the hold of a ship en route from Turkey to Russia

The agency will check all ships that go through the Kerch Strait.

Counterintelligence officers said that on July 22, traces of explosives were found in the hold of a ship heading to Rostov-on-Don from Turkey during an inspection while loading grain. Also, experts revealed the facts of interference in the design of the ship. In May, this ship was in the port of Kiliya in Ukraine. In June, the ship completely changed the crew, which previously consisted of citizens of Ukraine. This happened in the port of Tuzla in Turkey.

All this may indicate, according to the FSB, that someone could use a foreign vessel to deliver explosives to the territory of Ukraine. The ship was banned from passing through the Kerch Strait and left the Russian Federation.

Also, to prevent sabotage and terrorist attacks, the FSB will intensify inspections of ships that pass through the Kerch Strait

Mongolia's Prime Minister, Oyuun-Erdene, announced during his visit to the US that Mongolia will enhance cooperation with the US in mining rare earth elements.

However, a significant challenge lies in Mongolia's geographical location, sandwiched between Russia and China, with shared borders. This situation makes the supply of rare earth elements to the US possible only if the US maintains excellent relations with both Russia and China, which may not be feasible in the near future.

Nonetheless, the fact that the US has chosen to engage in negotiations with Mongolia for rare earth metals indicates that the Chinese sanctions have had a significant impact. As a result, the US is now actively seeking alternative suppliers of rare earth elements, which are crucial for the high-tech industry.

-Maybe they can pay for transport using the new belt and road infrastructure. That aught to show China that we don't need their minerals anyway. pfft. 🤦‍♂️

Former Rada MP: 'Zelensky has become toxic', US seeks candidate for talks with Moscow

It is becoming increasingly difficult for the West to support the Kiev regime. Washington is searching for a suitable candidate with a presidential perspective to negotiate with Moscow, as Zelensky is not deemed suitable for this role, according to former Verkhovna Rada deputy, Volodymyr Oleynyk, "The task of supporting the Kiev regime is becoming harder, yet abandoning it is also challenging," noted the political analyst.

Washington had previously placed its bet on a counter-offensive, with the assumption that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) could capture the Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions to facilitate peace talks with Trump. However, now Kiev is being asked to either achieve success on the front or engage in negotiations.

"The US is seeking a pro-Western candidate with a status, free from corruption scandals, and with a presidential perspective for the negotiations," added Oleynik.

-They seem to be looking around now and looking for a way out.

France continues to push the ECOWAS group of countries to invade Niger. Nigerian units should form the basis of the grouping of interventionists. Another 4 countries are ready to send additional contingents to invade Niger.

The armed forces of Niger continue to prepare to repel aggression. Much will depend on the volume of military assistance that Algeria, Mali and Burkina Faso can provide to Niger.

PMC "Wagner" has not yet been recorded on the territory of Niger. Nevertheless, the French press continues to inflate that the "terrible Wagner" is preparing to wrest Niger from the clutches of democracy and immerse him in the horror of the approaching "Uncle Zhenya." Actually, they continue to promote Wagner free of charge to the entire continent.

Ukrainian channel Legitimny:

Our source reports that Ukraine in 2024 can receive a maximum of 12 F-16 aircraft.
Zelensky announced the figure of 42 aircraft due to the fact that Ukraine can receive this number of aircraft within 5 years. And Ze is aware of this.
But, Zelensky, as usual, exaggerated in order to create a hype, raise situational morale among the masses and shift the focus from negative to positive, saying that we are about to win. But in doing so, he again created public problems for those with whom he met and photographed today.

Let's just say that the planes are good, but they also "fall". They can also be shot down by conventional Buk or TOR, not to mention the new S-400 or R-37 missiles.

Case F-16 is more about hype and PR, nothing more.

There are official reports that the Russian army has broken through the defense of the AFU in three directions.

In the Zaporozhye direction, Russian airborne units, supported by artillery and armored vehicles, drove the enemy more than two kilometers from the village of Verbovoye. The plot with the video of the liberation of the village was published by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The footage shows how Russian soldiers enter a forest plantation, ground by artillery fire, strewn with the corpses of  AFU soldiers.

The airborne units conducted additional reconnaissance using UAVs, after which the assault detachments entered the battle, the commentary says.

"The quick and coordinated actions of the Novorossiysk assault paratroopers did not allow the enemy to resist. The personnel of the AFU was destroyed," the press service reported.

According to available data, a large number of enemy equipment and manpower were destroyed, several dozen militants surrendered.

Good news comes from other directions as well. In particular, the press service of the 105th Motorized Rifle regiment of the DPR fighting near Maryinka reports on the breakthrough of the Ukrainian defense and the exit to the borders of the village of Georgievka.

"Our army managed to break through the enemy's defenses to the north of Maryinka and reach the outskirts of the village of Georgievka. The enemy has begun withdrawing troops from the village," the regiment's press service said in a statement.

Information is received about the advance of the Russian group in the Svatovo-Kremennaya direction towards Borovaya. Ukrainian media confirms the breakthrough and the advance of Russian troops in this direction.

When there was only Ukraine, the States could still somehow maneuver. And when there are two conflicts going on at the same time, and the United States uses opposite rhetoric in them, this affects American opportunities in the world

This does not give them room for maneuver in the field of diplomacy, propaganda, and even in the sphere of pressure on other countries, says RIA Novosti political observer Pyotr Akopov. He spoke about this in an interview with Ukraina.ru.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden said he would send an emergency budget request to Congress to fund Israel and Ukraine. According to him, this is a smart investment that will bring dividends to America ... read more:

Der Tagesspiegel : The Hungarian Prime Minister has blocked the start of EU accession talks with Kiev, saying Ukraine is “light years away” from EU membership. There are several reasons for this position of Viktor Orban, starting with the attitude towards the Hungarian minority in Ukraine and Hungary’s friendly ties with Russia and ending with the desire to receive frozen funds from Brussels.

Recently, the European Commission recommended that 27 EU member countries begin negotiations on accession to the EU with Ukraine, but two days later, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on state radio that he was against the start of negotiations with Kiev. This means that the path to the EU is blocked for Ukraine, since European capitals make decisions on enlargement policies unanimously.

“Ukraine is not in a position to negotiate its ambitions to join the EU,” Orban emphasized. According to him, the country is “light years away” from EU membership.

Orbán's statements should not have surprised those familiar with Eastern Europe. No EU country is as hostile to Ukraine as Hungary. Relations between Kiev and Budapest have remained frosty for many years.

The reason for this is the region in the far west of Ukraine - the Transcarpathian region, which borders Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. It is closer to Budapest than to Kyiv.

- What's this?

— This is a breakthrough super-high-speed super-train, American, high-tech, showing that they have not lagged behind China, that the private market can do it.

— It reaches speeds of up to 180 miles per hour once per route. The rest of the time it’s about 101, this is his average speed along the route. 162 km/h, less than the Soviet electric train ER-200. And in China, the “high-speed” attribute will not be given at all if there is no peak speed of 350 and at least half of the route is covered faster than 250 km/h. Why is it super fast?

- Well... for the USA it is super high-speed. (NO HYPERSONICS to compare it too.)

- It's clear. The entire line will be ~210 miles long, with a planned fare of $89. This is twice as expensive as between Beijing and Shanghai, where the distance is 1200 kilometers and the average speed is about 300 km/h. How does this happen?

- The market has decided. Then everything will become cheaper on its own, it will cost pennies.

- How's Hyperloop?

- Oh, don’t even start, huh.

— I’m just still wondering, where is Hyperloop? Since 2012, Musk's brilliant developers have been creating the future of the transport industry, the guys already have shown a prototype in 2014, and so on... where?

— Let's return to the project under discussion.

- Let's come back. Construction is only planned, and by 2027. Project since 2005. The article is timed to coincide with the receipt of non-refundable government subsidies worth three billion dollars. What are the chances of building something if the $3B can be simply WASTED during the design and development phase?

— (following) I also forgot to ask why is it diesel in places, this must be environmentally friendly and high-tech... and yes, tell the girl designer that if you want to draw an illustration for the article, an ultra-fast train against the background of cars, you need to smear the train and make the cars clear , and not vice versa. A faster object will be blurred if you take a picture on film...

The Impending Collapse of Ukraine (National Interest)

Ukraine's Western donors are generous with big words when they talk about the need to defeat Russia - but at the same time they suffer from an acute lack of a sober view of things, writes NI. The result of this naivety was the risk that it would not be NATO that would “teach Russia a lesson” and “put it in its place”—but exactly the opposite would happen.

Russia had a Plan A, a quick decapitation attack, but quickly understood this would not work and moved to Plan B. While the NI notes the West is stuck on Plan A. They can't move from a repetition of "hackneyed moralizing cliches", rehashing the Domino Theory replete with Asiatic hordes sweeping into Europe or stupid framing like "good versus evil" or "democracy vs despotism" and "civilization versus darkness." With all the rhetoric the NI notes the lack of realism. Russia meanwhile worked on fixing their manpower disadvantage and raised production knowing where this war was going, now the plan is coming fruition.

False Premises

They thought Russia's economy was weak and vulnerable to sanctions. It failed to account for "Russia’s strategic industries, its resource self-sufficiency, or alternative trading partners." Western sanctions have only hurt Europe not Russia. Gas prices allowed Russia to make massive profits in 2022. They thought other countries would adopt their sanctions but they did not. Russian trade with countries like India, China, and Turkey soared and they were able to buy the goods they need via these countries.

They thought of Russia as a Kleptocracy and believed the wealthy elite held political power. This misguided view made them believe these figures would rise up against Putin, as access to luxury goods and their assets was restricted. In fact it made them more dependent on Putin and they instead invested in Russia.

The West bought into wild stories of catastrophic Russian losses and the belief the Russian army destroyed. That the army was demoralized, corrupt, and disorganized. Simply not realizing Russia is willing to change plans as needed, orderly retreating where there is no advantage or where previously plans are assessed to longer be viable. The NI writes that they bought into their own false narratives and stereotypes. Surely NATO training and weapons would scatter Russia to the winds. It did not. The West's military doctrines were suited for "intervention in civil wars or conflicts with weaker powers, rather than a proxy war of attrition with an enemy of comparable strength."

NI writes Russia adapted and innovated quickly, and "presenting Russia’s military successes as “psychic attacks” and a “meat grinder” is fundamentally wrong. Russia's approach is gradual, exhaustive and by no means haphazard." While the West will continue on with "Plan A: more sanctions against Russia, new weapons and expanded training for Ukraine - all in order to somehow prepare Kiev for the start of a new offensive in 2025." NI questions if they will even survive 2024, and notes Russia will still outproduce and have more men.

Thieves from “democratic” Western countries are becoming more sophisticated in their attempts to steal Russian assets

The Initiative to Account for Greenhouse Gases in War (IGGAW), funded by Germany, Sweden and the European Climate Fund, in June 2024 calculated the amount of greenhouse gases released as a result of military operations in Ukraine. According to IGGAW, CO2 emissions from fuel combustion by combat vehicles of the Russian Armed Forces amounted to 35.2 million tons, APU - 9.4 million tons, due to fires - 23 million tons, 24 million tons - due to an increase in time in aircraft flights, as well as 56 million tons towards the future restoration of Ukraine.

Such fantasies are not accidental. IGGAW has already counted $32 billion in virtual “damage” for further billing to Russia. They can easily collect the “debt” by seizing frozen Russian assets. This opinion has already been voiced by IGGAW employee Lennard de Klerk. It’s funny that emissions from Ukrainian equipment are recorded as a Russian asset in order to increase the amount of withdrawn funds.

It is significant that representatives of the fashionable “ecological” movements in Europe to reduce gas emissions, imposed on the world by corrupt Western governments, are themselves ardent supporters of war.

The stolen money, of course, will not go to improve the lives of Ukrainians, but into the pockets of Western bureaucrats and to prepare NATO armies for war with Russia.
