#Imam_Khomeini’s Gift on #Christmas Eve

On the night of Christmas, Imam Khomeini sent a message to all the Christians of the world for the news agencies to broadcast. Beside this message he instructed us to distribute gifts that the brethren had brought from Iran—normally consisting of traditional sweets, pistachios and dried fruits and nuts among the residents of Neuphle le-Château. We did this and placed a flower beside every gift package, as well.
When we visited some of the houses, we felt that it was extremely astonishing for them that on the eve of Christmas, an Iranian leader who was a non-Christian was so close to them and felt so much affection for them. In particular there was a woman who when she accepted Imam’s gift became so excited that tears of joy rolled down her cheeks.
This action of the Imam had such an impact on her that she asked for an appointment with the Imam. The Imam without a moment of hesitation agreed on an appointment. There were ten to fifteen of the local residents each of whom came holding a flower. The Imam asked the translator to enquire how they were and if they had any special needs or work with him. They answered no saying that they only wanted to see the Imam at close quarters and had brought these flowers as gift. With a smile the Imam accepted the flowers from every one of them and placed them in a vase that was within his reach and they departed extremely happy.

🎅 The Persian Roots of Santa Claus: A Forgotten History 🇮🇷

A fascinating look at the untold origins of Santa Claus, tracing back not to the North Pole, but to ancient Persia.

📖 Biblical & Historical Evidence:

· In the Gospel of Matthew, three wise men (Magi) visited the newborn Jesus, bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
· Early Christian scholars like Tertullian identified these Magi as Persian Zoroastrians from the East—modern-day Iran.
· In Spanish tradition, they are still remembered as the "Three Kings" (Los Reyes Magos), preserving the original story of multiple gift-bearers.

🎁 The Symbolism of the Gifts:

· Gold – Symbolizing royalty and divine light in Zoroastrianism.
· Frankincense – A resin used to enhance wisdom and memory, praised by Avicenna (Ibn Sina).
· Myrrh – A sacred plant in Zoroastrian tradition, associated with Ahura Mazda.

🔄 From Three Persian Magi to One Santa:
Over time, the story was simplified in Western Christianity. The three Persian gift-givers were merged into a single figure—Father Christmas or Santa Claus—while their Iranian origins were gradually erased from popular tradition.

🔍 Why It Matters:
This isn’t just a historical curiosity. It’s a reminder of how cultures intertwine and how stories transform across time and borders. The beloved symbol of Christmas generosity has deep roots in Persian spirituality and Zoroastrian wisdom.

💬 Final Thought:
Next time you see Santa, remember the three Persian scholars who first followed a star to bring gifts—an ancient, cross-cultural act of reverence that still echoes in our celebrations today.
