π»Why does God test us?
π»Human beings have two kinds of interests: an interest in becoming good and an interest in becoming bad.
ππΌ Destiny (11)
πΈWhy does Almighty God test us? Because we have been created #human beings, who are creatures who can produce added value. Some imagine God wanted to create good, #obedient creatures! The angels had this same idea. When God wanted to create human beings they said, βWill you set in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood while we celebrate Your praise and proclaim Your sanctity?β [Qurβan 2:30] But God wanted to create a being who produces added value and becomes good.
πΈSomeone asked #ImamSadiq (pbuh), βWhy didnβt God create His servants in such a way that they would all be obedient and monotheists?β He replied, βIf God created people obedient, reward and punishment would have been meaningless. God created His servants in a way that they do something themselves to deserve reward or punishment.β [Al-Ihtijaj, Tabarsi, vol. 2, p. 340]
πΈTo produce added value, people must have two kinds of #interests: an interest in becoming good and an interest in becoming bad.
If you only had one kind of interest, #testing and having a free will was meaningless. You would definitely choose that one interest. If you had two interests, one stronger and one weaker, you would always choose the stronger interest. If you had two equal interests, you couldnβt choose and would be in a dilemma.
πΈGod designed our interests very beautifully and wisely.
He made one interest stronger and more valuable, but concealed. And the weaker, less valuable interest is manifested.
God has created this surprising balance so that people can choose.
πΈWhen you satisfy your divine, stronger, more valuable interests you truly enjoy more. But these interests are more concealed. If their true value were easily seen, you would go toward them from the beginning like angels.
On the other hand, the weaker, less worthy worldly interests, are more easily seen, experienced and appear stronger.
πΈWith this design, God has given people the opportunity to make a valuable choice.

π΄ The Virtue of Dua Kumayl on Friday Night
πΉ Kumayl narrates: I was sitting with my master Ali, peace be upon him, in Masjid al-Kufa, surrounded by a group of his companions. One of them asked about the meaning of the saying of the Almighty: "In it every wise matter is made distinct." He replied, "It is the night of the middle of Sha'ban, a night when destinies are decreed for those whose lives are in His control. No servant of God exists except that whatever is to befall him, good or bad, for the coming year, is decreed for him on the night of the middle of Sha'ban. No servant enlivens that night nor recites Dua Khidr except that his prayer is answered!"
πΉ When the master returned home, I went to his service at midnight and knocked on the door. He said, "O Kumayl! What brings you here?" I said, "O Commander of the Faithful! My purpose is the supplication of Khidr." He said, "O Kumayl! Sit down, and when you have memorized this prayer, recite it on every Friday night, or once a month, or once a year, or at least once in your lifetime, and God will provide you with solutions, support you, and never withhold His forgiveness from you."
πΉ Then he said, "Write: 'O Allah! I beseech You by Your mercy which encompasses all things...'"

Yahya Sinwar, Hamas's top leader, quotes Imam Ali (AS):
"I have memorized this saying from Imam Ali: 'There are two days in a person's life: the day when death is not your destiny, and the day when death is your destiny.'
I do not fear the first day because death is not my destiny, so no one can harm me. I do not fear the second day either because if it is my destiny, I cannot prevent it."
