In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
🕊 Peace and blessings be upon Muhammad and his purified progeny, the inheritors of nobility and guidance.

🏛 Hashim ibn Abd Manaf: The “Sayyid” of Arabia, Buried in Gaza
Hashim ibn Abd Manaf was the first to establish the Quraysh’s seasonal trade caravans — traveling to Yemen and Abyssinia in winter, and to Gaza, Syria, and sometimes Ankara in summer.
A man of vision and devotion, he held the Kaaba in deep reverence and urged the Quraysh to honor and serve its pilgrims.
For his noble character and leadership, the Arabs—and Quraysh in particular—honored him with the title “Sayyid” (Master of the Arabs). This title of nobility passed down through his lineage: to Abd al-Muttalib, to his descendants, and ultimately to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family), to Imam Ali (peace be upon him), and to their blessed household.
---
🕋 A Martyr in Gaza
Hashim died as a martyr during one of his trade journeys — poisoned by Jews in the city of Gaza, Palestine.
Today, his resting place is known as “Masjid al-Sayyid Hashim”, located in the al-Daraj district of Gaza’s Old City. It is renowned as the largest and oldest mosque in Gaza.
The current structure dates back to 1850 CE, built under the order of the Ottoman Sultan Abdulmejid I. Hashim’s tomb lies in the northwestern corner of the mosque.

✨ A Symbol of Connection
This sacred site stands not only as a historical landmark, but as a living bond between the ancestry of the Prophet (PBUH), the land of Palestine, and the enduring Islamic heritage in Gaza — a city that continues to bear witness to faith, resilience, and martyrdom.
---
🕌 May the soul of Hashim ibn Abd Manaf be blessed, and may Gaza, the land of prophets and saints, be freed from oppression and adorned with peace and dignity.
