Explaining Surah An-Nabaʼ (The Tidings) from Juz’ 30 of the Holy Qur'an – A Wilāyah & Mahdawī Perspective
#Wilayah #Mahdawiya #SurahNaba #Quran30thJuz #ImamMahdi #AhlulBayt #ShiaBeliefs

1. Title: A Wilāyah-Focused Beginning to the Tafsir of Surah An-Nabaʼ
Surah An-Nabaʼ opens the 30th Juz of the Holy Qur’an with the deeply thought-provoking verse:
"ʿAmma yatasa'alūn" – What are they asking one another about?
This rhetorical question sets the stage for the concept of the "Great News" (An-Nabaʼ al-‘Azīm) – a truth central to the ideological conflict of humanity. This Surah unfolds the reality of Wilāyah (Divine Leadership), Resurrection, the Return of God’s chosen ones, and the pivotal role of the Imams on the Day of Judgment.

2. Verse & Hadith: A Surah of Sweet Reward on the Day of Resurrection
Verse: "Yatasa'alūn" (An-Nabaʼ: 3)
Hadith: The Prophet (PBUH) said:
"Whoever recites Surah ʿAmma Yatasa'alūn, Allah will make him drink a refreshing and cool drink on the Day of Judgment."
Source: Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, vol. 17, p. 302 / Mustadrak al-Wasāʾil, vol. 4, p. 355
Wilāyah View: This Surah is not just cosmic truth—it is a Divine gift. Its recitation is accompanied by immense spiritual reward, granted to the lovers and followers of Wilāyah.

3. Mahdawī Insight: The Great News is the Person of Amīr al-Mu’minīn (a.s.)
Verse: "ʿAn al-Nabaʼ al-ʿAzīm alladhī hum fīhi mukhtalifūn" (An-Nabaʼ: 2–3)
Imam al-Bāqir (a.s.) said:
"‘Ali ibn Abī Ṭālib is the Great News that the Ummah differed over."
Source: Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, vol. 17, p. 304 / Bihār al-Anwār, vol. 36, p. 3
Mahdawī Reflection: The Great News isn't limited to the Hereafter. It is the Wilāyah of ʿAli (a.s.) and its continuation in his progeny, especially the awaited Imam al-Mahdī (aj). Wilāyah is the criterion of truth and falsehood in both this world and the next.

4. The Most Wilāyah-Centered Scene of Qiyāmah: Separation & Return
Verse: "Inna yawma al-faṣl kāna mīqātā" (An-Nabaʼ: 17)
Imam ʿAli (a.s.):
"Knowledge does not go to people—they must come to it." He added: "The Day of Separation is our appointment."
Source: Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, vol. 17, p. 310 / Bihār, vol. 40, p. 147
Mahdawī Insight: The Day of Judgment is the time for Divine verdict—executed by God’s Wali. As Imam ʿAli (a.s.) was the standard of truth in this world, so will he and his successors, especially Imam al-Qāʾim (aj), be in the Hereafter.
#DayOfJustice #ImamAli #WilayahInAkhirah

5. Rajʿah: A Manifestation of the Divine Promise
Verse: "Yawma yunfakhu fī al-ṣūr fataʾtūna afwājā" (An-Nabaʼ: 18)
Imam al-Ṣādiq (a.s.):
"Rajʿah is true. The first to return will be Imam Ḥusayn (a.s.)."
Source: Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, vol. 17, p. 314 / Bihār, vol. 53, p. 103
Wilāyah View: The reappearance of Imam Mahdī (aj) will be followed by the return of divinely appointed leaders. This verse symbolizes waves of believers returning alongside the Ultimate Wali to establish global Divine justice.

6. Angels in Rows & the Voices of Wilāyah
Verse: "Yawma yaqūmu al-rūḥ wa al-malāʾikah ṣaffā..." (An-Nabaʼ: 38)
Ahl al-Bayt Narrations:
Only those who have accepted Wilāyah will be permitted to speak on the Day of Judgment—and they are the Ahl al-Bayt and their loyal followers.
Sources: Tafsīr Ahl al-Bayt, vol. 17, pp. 330–332 / al-Kāfī, Bihār, Taʾwīl al-Āyāt, al-Burhān
Mahdawī Reflection: On that day, the only voices that will echo will be of those who pledged allegiance to ʿAli (a.s.) and his family. At the center of it all will be the awaited Imam, speaking and interceding with Divine permission.

The Call to Faith and the Wilāyah of the Righteous: A Mahdist Interpretation of Āl ʿImrān, Verse 193 🔹 Verse 193 – Surah Āl ʿImrān Arabic Text: رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِياً يُنَادِي لِلْإِيمَانِ أَنْ آمِنُوا بِرَبِّكُمْ فَآمَنَّا ۚ رَبَّنَا فَاغْفِرْ…
Divine Promise and the Awaited Savior: A Mahdavi-Wilāya Analysis of Āl-e ʿImrān, Verse 194

Qur’anic Verse (3:194):

"Our Lord! Grant us what You promised us through Your messengers, and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You never break Your promise."

🔹 Exegetical Insight:

In this verse, the faithful—after professing belief, seeking forgiveness, and aspiring to be among the righteous—ask Allah to fulfill the divine promises conveyed through His messengers. These promises include the ultimate triumph of the truth, the inheritance of the earth by the righteous, and the dignity of believers. The phrase "through Your messengers" points to specific prophetic pledges, such as the promised Caliphate of the believers and the establishment of divine justice on earth.

🔸 Narrative & Shi’a Interpretive Perspective:

1. Imam al-Ṣādiq (peace be upon him) teaches that this verse refers to the divine promise of the Caliphate of the Ahl al-Bayt (a) and the coming of a global just government—a promise yet to be fully realized and one that will be fulfilled with the advent of the Awaited Savior (Imam al-Mahdi, may Allah hasten his reappearance).
📚 Bihār al-Anwār, vol. 51, p. 64

2. This verse is recited in key devotional moments, such as farewell prayers for Imam Ḥusayn (a), in Imam al-ʿAskarī’s supplications, and in the prayer of ʿEid al-Ghadīr, highlighting its central theme: the yearning for the fulfillment of the divine pledge regarding wilāya and ultimate victory of God's chosen ones.
📚 Bihār al-Anwār, vols. 95, 98, 99

3. The Prophet Muḥammad (peace be upon him and his family) also recited this verse in a heartfelt plea:

“O Allah! Fulfill what You promised me—Indeed, You never break Your promise.”
📚 Bihār al-Anwār, vol. 20, p. 103

🌟 Mahdavi Reflection:

✅ The divine promise referenced here is closely linked to the appearance of the Awaited Mahdi (aj), the establishment of divine justice, and the disgrace of the tyrants both at the Day of Judgment and during the pre-apocalyptic transformation of the world.

✅ This verse becomes the prayer of every true believer awaiting the Mahdi (aj)—those who not only believe in the Prophet and the Imams but actively hope and strive for the fulfillment of Allah’s promise through His messengers.

✅ The plea "do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection" subtly reminds us of our responsibility during the Occultation. If we fail to uphold the covenant of wilāya, we risk humiliation on that Day. But if we remain loyal, we will be spared disgrace.

✨ Wilāya-Mahdavi Summary:

This verse is the soulful supplication of the vigilant believer, who:

Has responded to the call of the Prophet (s),

Clings to the wilāya of the Imams (a),

And now implores Allah for the realization of His promise—the advent of the Mahdi (aj), the inheritance of the earth by the righteous, and the shaming of the enemies of truth.
