๐Ÿ”บ Irena; a woman who studied Islam to confront it but became a Muslim

Rahyaftegan: Irena Handono, a Christian thinker and philosopher, decided to study religions, especially Islam, to find flaws in them and better fight against them. However, ultimately, due to the strong logic of Islam, she accepted it and embraced Islam to the extent that she became one of the staunch defenders of the Islamic faith.

After converting to Islam, Irena became active in supporting homeless children in Indonesia to protect them from two dangers: the mafia that exploits children for its interests, and the missionary missions of Christian missionaries that attract and insist on converting poor children, supported by Europe, America, and the Vatican. They use funds and financial aid to Christianize children.

Irena adds: We must distinguish between someone who has accepted Islam and become a Muslim and someone who is a believer in Islam. The difference lies in two things: a Muslim is someone who accepts Islam but does not necessarily perform religious obligations except for specific cases, whereas a believer is someone who consistently seeks to follow all the rules and laws of Islam, but above all, we must act according to the teachings of the Quran. God says in Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 120: "Never will the Jews or the Christians be pleased with you until you follow their religion. Say, 'Indeed, the guidance of Allah is the [only] guidance.' If you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against Allah no protector or helper."

She says: There is no connection between Islam and terrorism; Islam is a religion of mercy, mercy for the entire world and beyond. There is no verse in the Quran about violence.

Renowned German orientalist, Mrs. Anne Marie Schimmel, shares her unique journey with Islamic supplications. Avoiding translations, she personally delved into the original Arabic texts, translating a portion of Sahifa Sajjadiya into German. A poignant momentโ€ฆ
Mrs. Anne Marie Schimmel, a renowned German Orientalist, shares her thoughts on Islamic prayers, especially the Sahifa Sajjadiya:

"I consistently read Islamic supplications, hadiths, and news directly from their Arabic source without resorting to translations. I personally translated and published a small portion of Sahifa Sajjadiya into German.

About seven years ago, while engaged in translating the supplication for sighting the crescent moon of Ramadan and the farewell prayer for that month, my mother was hospitalized. During my visits, I found myself working on translations in a corner of her room while she drifted off to sleep.

Her hospital room had two beds. In the other bed, a very devout Catholic woman was admitted, staunch in her faith and even somewhat zealous. When she learned that I was translating Islamic prayers, she became dismayed, questioning whether we lacked anything in our Christianity and sacred texts that I turned to Islamic prayers!

Upon the publication of my book, I sent her a copy. A month later, she called me and said, 'Sincerely grateful for the gift of this book, as I read it every day instead of saying prayers.' Mrs. Schimmel believes that Imam Zain al-Abidin (peace be upon him) is effective for many people in the Western world.
