The noble supplication known as the Prayer of "Ya Man Azhar al-Jameel" is emphasized by scholars and dignitaries.

This prayer is answered, and whoever recites it, by the will of Allah, will have their supplications granted. It is a prayer of the people of the "Bait al-Ma'moor (a celestial dwelling in the fourth or seventh heaven)," recited during the circumambulation around Bait al-Ma'moor, invoking Allah.

Allama Majlisi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Umar ibn Shaibah said, "My grandfather heard from the noble Prophet of Islam that one day, the archangel Gabriel descended upon me while I was in a joyful state. He greeted me, and I responded, 'Peace be upon you, O Gabriel.' Gabriel (peace be upon him) said, 'Verily, the Almighty has sent a gift for you, and it is a selection of words from the treasures of Paradise, bestowed upon you by the grace of Allah. I asked, 'What are those words?' He replied, 'Say:

يَا مَنْ أَظْهَرَ الْجَمِيلَ وَسَتَرَ الْقَبِيحَ
Ya Man Azhar al-Jameel wa Satar al-Qabeeth

يَا عَظِيمَ الْعَفْوِ يَا حَسَنَ التَّجَاوُزِ يَا وَاسِعَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ
Ya Azeem al-Afw, Ya Hasan al-Tajawuz, Ya Waasi'a al-Maghfirah

يَا بَاسِطَ الْيَدَيْنِ بِالرَّحْمَةِ يَا صَاحِبَ كُلِّ نَجْوَى وَيَا مُنْتَهَى كُلِّ شَكْوَى
Ya Baasit al-Yadayn bi al-Rahmah, Ya Sahiba kulli Najwaa, wa Ya Muntaha kulli Shikwaa

يَا مُقِيلَ الْعَثَرَاتِ يَا كَرِيمَ الصَّفْحِ يَا عَظِيمَ الْمَنِّ يَا مُبْتَدِئاً بِالنِّعَمِ
Ya Muqeel al-'atharaat, Ya Kareem al-Safh, Ya Azeem al-Mann, Ya Mubtada'an bi al-Ni'am

قَبْلَ اسْتِحْقَاقِهَا يَا رَبَّنَا وَيَا سَيِّدَنَا وَيَا مَوْلَانَا وَيَا غَايَةَ رَغْبَتِنَا
Qabla Istihaqiqiha Ya Rabbana, wa Ya Sayyidana, wa Ya Mawlana, wa Ya Ghayata Ragbatina

أَسْأَلُكَ يَا اللَّهُ أَنْ لَا تُشَوِّهَ خَلْقِي بالنَّار
As'aluka Ya Allah an La Tushwih Khalqi bin-Naar

The Melodious Call to Prayer Transformed Me into a Muslim

🔺 Lisa Hamilton, a recent English convert to Islam, shares her inspiring journey.

In a typical English family with non-Muslim parents, my childhood and youth passed uneventfully until two years ago when I traveled to Tunisia to visit a friend.

Lisa continues, "Our visit to Kairouan, one of the significant Islamic cities globally, was a highlight of our trip. It was there, for the first time, that I heard the call to prayer, and its melodious tune instantly changed my life."

She recalls the moment vividly, "It was the late hours of the day when we arrived in Kairouan and had just settled into our hotel when, amidst the evening silence, the call to prayer resonated."

Lisa Hamilton adds, "In the tranquility of those moments, the sound and melody filled the entire space, rendering everything insignificant in its presence. I don't know if I'll ever hear the call to prayer from the Imam of that mosque again, but I had never heard such a beautiful and soothing sound in my life. At that time, I didn't even understand the meaning of the words, but my heart grasped its beauty."

"The next day, I found myself admiring the beauty and grandeur of Islamic architecture in the mosque in Kairouan, deciding to delve into Islam upon my return to England. It was then that I realized the beauty and truth in Islam were so overwhelming that I couldn't deny them."

Lisa continues, "As soon as I returned to England, I started researching Islam. For several months, I read the Quran every night from beginning to end. Ultimately, with the acceptance of Islam, I found the joy and tranquility I had been seeking for years."

"This newfound faith has illuminated every aspect of my life with a new radiance. Islam has given me strength and peace of mind that were unattainable before. Now, I am a Muslim, and I have never been happier. While some mock my conversion, my family understands that Islam has become an integral part of me. Islam defines me, guides me, and leads me."
